This is a trip that I will never forget

First of all, I want to thank the crew who were patiently waiting for our group as we were running a bit late. They could have set off without us but they did waited for us. That is a really nice gesture. We have never seen whales before and this trip is really amazing. We were very lucky because there were two humpback whales that came really close to our boat. I could almost touch them from the boat. The two whales were very curious about us and they did many flips infront of us and blew their top too. That is really an incredible feeling to watch the whales from such a close distance. I highly recommend anyone who is interested to watch whales to go on the Princess Monterey.

Great Experience and Guide

We saw several groups of humpback whales. A mother and calf were close and we were able to observe them for ~45 minutes. It was amazing. The calf was curious about a fellow tour boat and got up close and personal with that boat. The calf even breached out of the water once. We saw the other whales from a further distance. The guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. She seemed as excited as us. My boyfriend was disappointed that we didn't see any other wildlife (besides sea lions) while out on the cruise but the humpback whales were enough for me:)

An amazing trip!

This was an amazing trip for all of us (including children ages 3 and 5). The marine biologist on the trip was not only very intellegent, but funny and personable too! We were able to see humback whales, pacific white sided dolphins, and killer whales. The boat is very nice with an inside cabin that was heated to break the chill. The cabin also had a variety of snacks and drinks available to purchase. It is a good value for the cost! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone thinking about going. We are already planning when we can go again!

My wife and I went on the 2.5 hour whale watching cruise and enjoyed it alot. We saw several humpback whales and many dolphins. The tour guide was both informative and entertaining. We would have had some great pictures for the kids if our camera would have been working.

Great time!

Nice people, charismatic guide, beautiful boat. Compared to some of the other tour boats we saw heading out, this company is definitely one of the better ones. My only suggestion to anyone going whale watching is to have everyone in your group take dramamine!!! Even if you don't think you will need it, take it anyway. We all did and had a wonderful time, but there was a small group of various people who got seasick huddled in the back of the boat throwing up the entire time. When we got to the whales and dolphins, they were too sick to even stand up and look. Kids included. A simple pill a couple hours before your trip can make a huge difference!!

Trip of Lifetime!

We saw a 50 foot humpback whale and her calf. The mama came right to us and played around and under our boat. One member of our group was even sprayed with whale mucus. The whale froliced around our boat within arms reach for 15 to 20 minutes truely an amazing site of one of God's creatures! We also saw 3 types of dolphins and other marine life. The boat was clean and not crowded. The staff was great and the naturalist was informative and very funny. Take your dramamine and dress in layers with a hood.

A little overpriced for what you get

I had never been whale watching so I'm definitely glad I tried it. The guide was very good and enthusiastic but once on the boat it was very difficult to hear anything she said. There was not enough seating on the boat. We did get to see one whale it was pretty far away but saw allot of dolphins close up. Several people did get seasick and one person fell and hurt their ankle so if you tend to get seasick I would not recommend it and when they say dress warmly they are not kidding many layers and a hood would be recommended. Overall try it at least once.

My two sons ages 11 and 13 had a great time on the trip. We saw a variety of wildlife. One of the whales even breached for us and my oldest son got a photo of it jumping out of the water. None of us wanted the trip to end. Thanks!

Too Long

The trip was initially enjoyable for the first hour. We did see quite a few whales from a distance, which was all we really wanted. However, after the 8th or 9th time of just seeing a blowhole and a tail...it became really old. There were several people that were just plain bored and really tired in the last hour of the trip. Dozing off in the cabin and just in a daze. It seemed to have taken forever to get back. Definitely will not recommend unless shorter that 2.5 hours.

LOVED IT!

It was SPECTACULAR!!! The humpbacks were LITERALLY up against our boat the entire time! They were playful, looking at us and just hanging out! Truly an experience of a lifetime. It was surreal and the captain said in his 40 years it was one of the top 5 best outings they have seen. We were incredibly lucky!
