Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises

It was such a wonderful experience to be out there in the middle of the ocean. My boyfriend and I were dozing off because it was so relaxing. We saw PLENTY of dolphins and about 3-4 humpback whales. The weather was against us because it was a little more windy than a regular day and we were lucky to be on the 10 AM trip because they decided to cancel the rest of the trips due to weather conditions -- which reminds me, the staff was super nice! We were running late and they were nice enough to wait for us. The boat was clean and the ride was nice. Make sure to LAYER (the trip back was freezing!!) and take Dramamime for motion sickness just to be sure. Definitely going back here!

The boat ride was fun, bumpy, wet - fun though - although we wanted to see much sea life, there weren't any to see, except 1 whale and it's baby - luckily the whale came up and did a jump in the air as though a trick just for us. Thank GOD for that anyway, I would've been highly dissapointed for the money paid if I saw absolutely nothing and there is no refunds either. Good luck - go when there's lots to see - check the time of year first!!

What a way to spend the fourth of July. We saw at least 6 whales and were able to watch them for over an hour. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in marine life.

This was a great tour that we would do again. We saw 3 whales on our trip out and enjoyed it so much. The staff were nice and helpful. We highly recommend this tour.

The enthusiastic marine biologist was hilarious and knowledgeable. The staff was friendly. The whole experience was wonderful!

For the longest time i had told my fam. that i really wanted to go whale watching and although i knew that it was not garaunteed to see anything i said lets just give it a shot! and to my surprise we were able to see 3 whales it was amazing and the captian of the boat knew a lot of info and seemed very experienced. I had a blast and the boat was very clean and i would like to thank everyone who made that possible.

I had never thought, but is it like a film. The dolphins play and swim with the boat around the bet. I did not believe that we see wahle, but we saw swveral. I was enthusiastic.

We didn't get to see whales but we saw dolphins. It was very easy to book the cruise online. We liked it.

They aren't kidding when they say wear winter clothes... it was freezing and it was June! I should have dug out the kids' winter hats and gloves. Very foggy - apparently that is common in the summer. Because of the fog it was difficult to see whale spouts, thus we couldn't find the whales.... big bummer! But we got a rain check, which was cool. And we saw dolphins and sea lions. Apparently the fog is common in summer months, and fall is a better time to see whales. Clean boat, easy check-in, and friendly staff!

This was my hubby and my second trip on the Princess. We absolutely will do this again . We were thrilled to see Whales . It is so fabulous to see such beautiful creatures in their own habitat. It brought tears to my eyes to see such beauty and grace. We also saw a sunfish which was really cool. It was a little rough , the swells were pretty big but it was worth every roll and bounce. I do hope our next trip will be a little smoother. The crew are wonderful and know where to go for the best chance to see God's creatures. We enjoyed the seals and other marine animals. I love the pelicans and other sea birds. I hope to see Killer whales and the beautiful Blue Whales soon. Please ask for Kathryn she is the Marine Biologist that shares her knowledge while looking for whales. She is also quite funny and very nice. Kathryn has so much knowledge to share. We learned new things each trip so we can't wait to find out what other things she can teach us about the ecology of our earth and especially the Monterey Bay. The crew was wonderful, most of my family got sick and they wer very helpful. the waves were HUGE but we did see whales. I would like to go again hopefully on a calmer wave day.

Saw whales and Dolphins as promised. Weather was not great - cold and waves a bit rough - not the company's fault. Trip was as stated in advertisements about 3 hours. The brochure recommends the appropriate clothing for the weather - we were comfortable but some other customers didn't listen to dress in layers. If you get seasick - take the medicine. Ship is clean, crew is great. Was a pleasant morning even with the weather being not so nice.

I t;hought we would be seeing several types of marine life. All we did was find the whales, and then sit and watch them for what seemed like hours.

The crew and the naturalist aboard were really professional, knowledgeable and made the experience totally worth it. I recommend it highly as a must see and do for tourists and locals a like. And the wildlife and humpback whales were spectacular.

We expected cruise people be able to judge the weather and possibility to find whales before we leave the land. Spending 2 hrs in wawy waters wasn't a great pleasure. We did get a rain check... will look for somebody who wants to use it.
