| seemed like a long ride to get where we needed to. wasn't sure if i was really seeing the whale activity that was being described by the "narrator". a little girl vomited inside the cabin. the experience was missing something... felt like time was wasted in Monterey. I think I'll stick with the aquarium... | ||||||

| We weren't sure of how this would go, as my daughter and I both tend to get seasick. It was a teensy bit rough (3-4 foot swells?) when we went out, and she and I did well just hanging outside, staying toward the back of the boat. When we got out away from shore, they found and followed (at a distance, of course) a mother humpback and her calf. It was incredibly cool, the calf decided to get lively and kick it's tail up and give us a bit of a show. Kids (and Dad and I) loved every minute of it. DRESS WARM and layer up! We were okay, just a bit cool, as this was a windy, cloudy April day. I'd recommend some light gloves and a warm hat in addition to layered sweatshirt/coat. My daughter and I never got sick, by staying outside though, so you need to be dressed warm if you do so. Highly recommend it! | ||||||

| The crew provided much interesting information about the sea life. The whales were majestic. Two areas for improvement! You need to improve the PA system. We were on the Explorer. We had a hard time hearing things. We often found ourselves asking each other, "What did he just say?" The volume is fine, but the quality of the sound is such that you frequently can't make out what is being said. Also, learn to speak in public; that is, slow down, ennunciate, and repeat things. (Talk to a teacher and they'll tell you how to do it!) Finally, remember there are many foreign visitors who have difficulty understanding. | ||||||

| The Biologist was very knowlegeable and gave us lots of interesting facts. We went to see whales and we got to see them. We plan to go whale watching again in the further. | ||||||

| was there April 8 & saw a few gray whales. The whales were far from the boat so we would only see the water spays and the fluke of the whale. pretty relaxing cruise. Maybe we were the not so lucky ones in spotting whales, heard other trips saw a lot of action. | ||||||

Pretty good if you don't mind not hearing anything

| We had a beautiful day for the whale watch, and though we didn't see as many whales as I'd have liked (only a couple of grays), the company definitely can't be held accountable for that. The boat was very clean and stable and I'm sure the crew knew their stuff, it was just that I couldn't hear them. Sounded like the speakers for the intercom on the boat sorely need to be replaced/upgraded. General consensus on the bow where we were standing was that it sounded a little like the phone conversations on the Charlie Brown cartoons - wahh wahh wahhh whale wahh wahh. We couldn't understand them at all. I was picking up 1 out of every 5 or so words, which is more than the other people did - I had to keep translating for them. Other than that, it was a good day out on the water! | ||||||

| My daughter wanted to come to Cali as a graduation present mainly to see humpbacks. She pretty much planned this trip down to each event and researched many different websites and decided on this one. Everyone there was super! From answering emails with what we thought we silly questions to the attention given to each passenger on the actual whale watching trip. I would and HAVE already recommended them ... and if we ever return to Cali we will be there on the Princess to see more whales! | ||||||

| We spent a delightful 2 1/2 hours on the water. We headed to the location where a female and her calf had been seen earlier in the day and spent an hour watching them. While none of our pictures will be frameable, we got to see them emerge out of the water many times. The only downside was that the speaker system did not work well; no one could understand what the captain was saying. Fortunately one of the staff was available to describe in person many details about the whales. | ||||||

| My daughter and I took a day off work just to be together. We both love the ocean and dolphins and whales and a little action. This choice was just right. The boat was comfortable, and the captain and crew did a fine job. They were focused on making it a good time for the passengers. | ||||||

| Once we found the place it was well worth it. Directions to the boat could have been better but we called and they helped us. The waters were rough and I would advise motion sickness meds for anyone the least bit inclined to motion sickness. The narrator was great. | ||||||

| We were originally scheduled to go out on the afternoon Princess Monterey tour. Got a phone call about 09:30 informing us that the afternoon tour was being cancelled due to bad weather being expected. Offered to reschedule us for the morning tour, a different day tour or a refund! We opted to go on the morning tour since this was the primary purpose for our visit to Monterey. Good choice! Weather was chilly and seas were up to 10 feet but the captain and the boat handled both well. Were out for about two hours with no sighting and then a pod of 3 gray whales were spotted. Got to spend about 45 minutes watching these beautiful creatures before we had to head back. Captain and crew were super - friendly and willing to take the time to answer any questions asked. A few people got sick on the tour and the crew did everything they could to help make their situation more tolerable. I would highly recommend this company and, in fact, I am already planning to return next year and go out with them more than once during our stay. | ||||||

| This whale watching excursion was the high light of our trip to California from Colorado. The boat was large, the crew was professional. Everything was on time, and we saw 2 pods of gray whales. It was a wonderful experience. | ||||||

| The captain really tried to ensure that we saw whales. We were really lucky to see at least 5 humpback whales on our trip. It was a bit cold and choppy, but well worth it for the experience. | ||||||
