Awesome! The Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruise |

| This trip was great! I wasn't expecting to see so many whales. I also didn't think we would get a close look or catch very active whales. We got so close to them that we could smell their stinky breath! We had a great time and am recommending it to anyone interested. We also saw a ton of jelly fish and 2 dolphin-like fish. I don't know if everyone gets this lucky when they go, but just make sure you go during the right season and recommended time of day. Bring sunblock and a windbreaker! (and ginger if you're scared of getting seasick). | ||||||

| Way fun! I was afraid that 3 hours would be too long with 3 children, but it wasn't. We saw lots of whales and sea lions and even were told porpoises (though I never actually saw them). My husband and my oldest daughter did get a little seasick, but even they look back on it positively. | ||||||

| You have to experience this at least once in your life time. My only reccomendation is to dress warmer. I had a jacket and jeans, and I was still cold, so I spent the last half of the trip in the heated cabin and not on deck, missing a few of the whales... | ||||||

| We originally planned a February excusrion but weren't able to make it. We went during the last weekend in April and saw quite a few whales. The captain made sure that we all got a great view and the biologist was extremely knowledgeable. We had a great time! | ||||||

| The high light of the trip was the enthusiastic marine biologist who described the whales and kept the tempo going. She had a very good humor and a lively way of narrating interesting facts. Other wise it wouldn't have been that interesting. What was little disappointing was the duration of the trip. It was said that the trip is around 2 1/2 to 3 hrs long. We were supposed to start at 1.30, but actually we did start by 2.00 pm. And we were back by 3.30. Assuming it takes good 30 mins to get to the spots where the whales are visible, we get just around 30 to 40 mins to go after themfor watching. And if it is time to get back, they won't stop the boat even if there is a pretty good sighting next to the boat. Just head back home no matter what you see on the way :-( | ||||||

| This was my first time being on the ocean and getting to see these amazing creatures. We was very fortunate to have numerous sightings while we where out so there were many photo opportunites. My husband, brother and sister-in-law, as well as myself got the front of the boat so we could get the most of the experience being it was the first time for the girls, both being native Oklahoma girls. And we did just that, going out on the 10 am cruise the morning of the 26th of April, with Leon and Katherine, it was truly an enjoyable experience I can not wait to do again. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone but especially to the nature lover. | ||||||

| This was the best whale watching trip ever. We seen grey whales killer whales and even a few dolphins. The only bad part of the trip was the amount of people that got motion sickness and were giving it up all over the place. The smell of the whales also catches you off guard a bit too. Besides that we got really close to the whales the captain was very knowledgeable and the deck hands were really friendly. I would do it again anytime. | ||||||

| I highly recommend this actitvity. Our captain and crew were extremely educational and friendly. Our captain did his best to get us the best sights and the guides were engaging and fun. We were able to see Humpbacks and Orcas! The sightings brought me to tears! It was beautiful! The boat was clean and comfortable and the price very reasonable. Be aware that the directions given from the website are wrong. They led us to a different part of the wharf so best to call for directions. | ||||||

| We picked a beautiful day and had a wonderful time - mostly. If you're prone to sea sickness - get a patch or some meds BEFORE you go! Several folks on our trip spent the bulk of the trip at the back of the boat sick; really, really sick. The on-board marine biologist says we got very lucky the day we ventured out. The whales and prevailing winds had pushed a "food ball" closer to shore so we didn't have to travel far to find dozens of humpbacks feeding. In all we saw 20-30 whales without spending most of the trip riding out to their normal feeding grounds. A couple of whales surfaced about 40-50 feet off the port bow where I was standing. An incredible experience to see something so big and awe inspiring so close up. If you're going whale watching in Monterey, I'd really recommend The Princess. The boat is very comfortable, and with the sometimes rough water in the deep Monterey Bay - the smaller competitors boats were bobbing like corks. I was really glad I was on the biggest whale watching boat in the bay with the swells we had. | ||||||
