Good, once-in-a-lifetime experience

Princess Whale Watching was great. They were true to their word, timely, and friendly. My family enjoyed this, but consider it a "do it once" kind of thing. My children are 8 and 13 and were excited, but the fun kind of wore off with the long trip out to sea, and then back. We did see whales, but it is spotty, and you have to look quick. Again, it was everything they said it would be, so there was nothing bad, it was just a little long for the children. The boat was nice and seemed plenty big for the number of people aboard. Also, it is COLD on the morning trip. We took the 9:00am trip, on July 18th, and were very glad to have sweatshirts, hats, and gloves. Also, my entire family took a less -drowsy dramamine pill beforehand, and we felt fine. Not sure if the sea was considerably calm that day, or if the medicine worked, but none of us felt sick at all. I would take the dramamine just in case- you would hate to be cold AND sick! I would suggest everyone do this at least once, especially if you don't live in an area that allows you this opportunity, to mark it off your bucket list, but that would be it for me. I can't imagine any other whale watching outfit doing a better job, so if I were ever to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to use Princess Monterey Whale Watching.

Really enjoyed this trip. Saw blue and humpback whales. Narration by captain was informative and not over the top. Trip duration (2.5 hours) was just right for us. Facilities were good but the highlight is obviously seeing these wonderful creatures in their natural habitat. I am not a good trveller on boats so thank goodness is was a calm day. any rougher and it may have caused sickness. The guys on the boat were also very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend this trip and thought it was excellent value for money.

This was a very special experience and I would do it again, right now! People are friendly and helpful, the ship is nice and big, so there is no need to be anxious. We have seen several whales, some really close! Awsome!! I don't regret a minute!

Still really wonderful trip. Captain really knew his stuff. Loved it. We all did. We drove over from Fresno and Dublin. Just had a great time. Took the 1:30 trip. Whales have their own agenda. We saw lots of gushing and a few of the backs. Very impressive.

DISAPPOINTED!

My wife and I took the cruise on a day when the seas were choppy. We sat up front on the bow seats and could not hear anything said by the Marine Biologist. It was very unsafe. People were allowed to walk around the outside of the cabin while under way during rough seas and no crew mentioned guidelines to prevent injury. My wife and I could not see anything because people stood at the railing throughout the cruise blocking our view the entire time. Would not recommend this particular Whale Watching Cruise!

The staff were unfailingly courteous, good-humored and helpful. They were thoughtful and compassionate with some seasick kids from a school group. There was plenty of room at the rail to see everything. My guests from Scotland loved it.

We went on a morning (9:00am) whale watching trip on the Princess boat line. We had reservations for 10:00 am but got there early. They allowed us to go at 9:00to help fill a boat. Unfortunately for us, the whales weren't very cooperative. We saw some blue whales blowing spouts and a young humpback whale checked us out and that was about it. The boat always manuveured closer when they saw anything. The narrative about the whales and their habits was rather brief. The boat was clean and had both inside, outside and upper level seating. We weren't told when we booked our trip that it cost extra for upper level seating. We also weren't told that we could get our Dramamine and ginger candies to ward off saesickness at the office of the Princess Boat line.

I never thought about whale watching until my girlfriend suggested it. We were vacationing in the area and just decided to purchase tickets the day before. I went into it not expecting a lot, but once you are out there watching these majestic mammals take a breath out of the water ... it is one of the greatest sights I have ever seen. We were lucky and got to see two kinds of whales. It was a great experience!
