Fun date trip

This was the first time I have ever been asked to pay "extra" to sit on the top deck. I was shocked and disappointed that the seating was restricted. If you want to sit on the top deck you will be charged extra making this a very expensive trip. Boat was clean and in good repair. Bring your seasickness pills! Very high waves...lots of folks were seasick! We saw lots of dolphins and a grey whale.

The crew was helpful with directing us where to sit. Also, they helped us move around the boat so we could see the whales and dolphins without fear of falling over. The marine biologist on-board was very informative and gave actual interesting information. We did see whales, dolphins and otters as well as lots of seals. Overall, it was a good trip. It's freezing on the water, FYI

We had a very instructive journey. Even though wales were not at the rendez-vous we enjoyed this trip very much in the presence of a very professional team!

The overall excursion was a very nice, relaxing outing & I'd definitely use this company again if I choose to take another whale watching adventure. The vessel was clean, comfortable & I felt safe the entire time; the crew was awesome - personable, attentive, knowledgeable... and determined: They searched high & low for whales the entire time of our tour. Unfortunately, whales apparently don't feel motivated to appear on command... there were none to be seen during our trip, though plenty had been seen in the days before. Thank goodness for the dolphins that kindly made a guest appearance, helping us all to feel like we'd gotten at least a little bit of a close encounter with sea life. All in all, it was a great escape from the hustle & bustle of real life for a couple of hours, and I'd definitely recommend Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises to friends who are thinking of taking the adventure.

Princess Monterey Whale Watching is fantastic! The captain is a great speaker and had so many interesting and fun facts about the area and the whales. He had a great sence of humor and had us laughing. We saw many whales and enjoyed the ride. The enitre trip the captain and crew made sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. We loved it!

We saw 2 grey whales and a few humpback. we viewed them feeding since the krill were on the surface that day. It was amazing. the only bummer was how long it took to find the whales. we reccommend a later whale watch because the first tour would have already scouted where the whales are. It was annoying to be told repeatedly to hold the rail.

Everyone enjoyed the trip. We saw grey whales and humpback whales. Learned a lot. We will definitely do it again!

If you view this as a unique, one-time activity I can rate it as highly enjoyable. I appreciated the crew member who told us that July is the optimal watching month for the area. This influenced my decision to purchase a gift certificate for my daughter who lives locally. Unfortunately, in the excitement of a possible viewing, most guests rush the railing and that leaves some guests with the inability to see moderate animal action, i.e., when the whales just graze the surface rather full jumps. Had I known I could "upgrade" to the top deck I would have done so. It might be beneficial if the crew had a more instructive plan for viewing. For example, if guests were instructed to stand sideways (one hip against the handrail), potentially ALL guests would have a rail view rather than the normal stance of full body facing rails. Additionally, check-in staff might be more suggestive for guests to purchase the motion sickness tablets. Fortunately I had the foresight to "not take a chance" but many guests were miserable. Overall it was enjoyable.

Good narration, although not fully audible at the bow and too hot inside. Good size boat. Staff were safety aware.

I would highly reccomend this tour! The crew was friendly and knowledgeable and the boat was very comfortable.

Although we had high expectations to see a variety of sea life on this tour, we were extremely satisfied when we came across two humpback whales, which was the only sea life we saw. The boat followed the two as they came up and down for a good 45 minutes. We hot some great pictures especially with the tail out of the water. They were probably came as close as 40 yards from the boat. For photographers out there, make sure you have a nice zoom! Overall, it was a great tour and was excited to see the two humpback whales! Additionally, the narration on the boat was also welcoming and interesting!

This was my third time taking my family and friends on the Princess out of Monterey Bay to go whale watching. It was a wonderful experience. We saw and photographed playful grey whales who showcased their grace and beauty. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The captain provided guests with interesting details regarding the behavior of the whales. It was, once again, a memorable experience!
