Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises

We enjoyed the whale watching but thought that the marine biologist accopanying the tour could have spoken more and been more informative. Also, the quality of the sound system made it difficult to hear what was being said. We did a tour previously with another tour company and saw many humpback whales. This tour we really did not see any whales and it felt like we were being rushed.

Once the boat left the wharf (about 20 minutes late) the trip was fun. The woman who was the biologist abord was really outgoing and informational. Luckily the seas were calm that day, and the skies were clear and beautiful. We were only able to see two gray whales, and those were at a distance. We also saw a school of dolphins (about 50 or 60) that came up to the boat and a few rode the wake briefly. Overall, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The temperature on the water was in the high 40's with a sight wind chill, so heavy jackets were a must.

The three hour whale watching trip was amazing!!! The crew took us close enough that we could see a group of killer whales hunting sea lions..

The trip out to see was half the fun with big swells...the boat rocking up and down...it felt like a roller coaster...fun. Saw a couple of whales but from a distance. It would have been nice if the skipper got us closer, but am not sure if it's against the law to get closer to them.

It was one of the best experience of my life.

It was a great trip we got to see some Grey Whales. Service was good and we got what we exspected.

It was unfortunate to watch only one whale, but I am satisfied because it is just the way it is in a nature. The disappointed thing is that we could hardly watch him because some occupied the deck in most of the time and another ships could take better position near a whale than us. The reason we made a reservation of this tour among many tours is that this firm seems to have the biggest ship(Princess Monterey) according to the web because my wife often gets seasick, but the reality is small ship was prepared, although no notice has been presented in advance in the webpage. That's why I have been disappointed a little bit.

Our family embarked upon the whale watch with no great expectations. We were pleasently surprised by how much we enjoyed the trip. Not only do you get fantastic views of the Monterey Bay but the whales only add to the unique experience! We saw a nice variety of sealife including sea otters, sea lions and whales on our trip. The staff are friendly and more than welcoming to any questions you might have about your trip and things you see. Would definitely recommend the company to any friends and family.

We recently went whale watching and had a great time. The only issue we had was that they allowed a small family group to bring 3 dogs onboard--2 beagles and 1 bulldog/boxer. Most of their group got seasick so they took the dogs off their leaches and let them roam the deck. And, as you would expect, one of the dogs took a crap right in front of our seats. It was nasty. They should not allow animals onboard. A crew member was very apologetic and did clean up the mess but along with all the people onboard that were struggling with seasickness and then the dog stink it was an unnecessary frustration. People should leave their pets home or in a kennel.

Our kids had a great time spotting and take photographs of the whales, which were numerous. My wife and I also had fun, but Dramine would have made the trip more pleasurable.

My girlfriend and I had a great time on the Princess Monterey. The staff was great and accomodating. We left on time and went about 14 miles out on the bay. If was heavily overcast and cold out on the open water. We went at the end of November. We saw 3 Humbacks and we got some good pictures. Weather could have been better but no one has control over that. The boat had bathrooms and light snacks for purchase. I suggest bringing something to drink or snack on as our trip was 3.5 hours long.

Very friendly staff. All our needs were met from the time we boarded the boat till we returned. Very nice day we left around 10 am and returned around 1:30 pm . The whales came around the boat about 11 am or so. We got so close if we reached over we could have touched them. There were two out of a group of about 6 in the area. they were under and alongside the boat. It was the most amazing trip. The Marine Biologist was very informing. The 25 or so persons on the boat all were able to get up close and personal. I would recommend Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruise to all and I have. Don Palm Desert Ca.

This far exceeded my expectations. I was hoping to simply see some whales at a range of about 100 yards away. Instead they came right up to the ship and were even slightly lifting it out of the water. Fantastic!!!

Good whale watching trip. Lots of Humpbacks! The Captain was respectful of the whales and helped everyone enjoy the trip. Cost is reasonable, the boat was comfortable.
