Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises

This is the only whale watch company we go out with. The captains, crew and naturalists all know what they are doing. The most important thing to us is that they are very respectful of these wonderful creatures and do not bother them in any way. The operation is very professional and we received two emails to let us know that we needed to leave extra travel time due to another event in the area.

We saw three whales but they were too far away from the boat. I expected to see them up close. I guess its because 'the Princess' is a big boat, so she cannot get too close to the whales... We actually saw some smaller boats follow the whales and go really close. I bet they got saw great pictures!!

This was an enjoyable trip though we did not really see many whales (obviously not the company's fault), not did we get as close as we had visualised. One complaint was that the PA system was inadequate as we were unable to hear any of the commentary. The directions to the pier were also inadeqate and the description of the building did not help us. Fortunately, we managed to find it anyway.

We saw a few whale and lots of dolphin. Hundreds and hundreds of dolphin. I'd reccomend going out on the earlier trips and during the week if possible. Much less crowded, and lots of room to take good pictures.

The crew is friendly & professional. The boat is clean & warm. The Tail view of the Humpback whale is simply BEAUTIFUL. The whole experience is just awesome and I loved every minute of it!

Wonderful boat and professional crew. Our naturalist was outgoing and informative. We will definitely choose Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruises again as well as recommend them to friends and family.

Both my husband and I are prone to sea-sickness . The combination of the larger boat and patches from our doctor provided a very enjoyable boat ride. The Marine Biologist on the boat was very entertaining and informative. We were able to see Gray Whales. I have lived in CA for 10 years and now that I found this Tour company I'm looking forward to the humpbacks in the summer.

Simply amazing.....although the boat ride is bumpy....its worth exploring.Saw 8-10 humpback whales and one blue whale.....higly recommend.

The Crew of the Princess Monterey were excellent. From the minute you arrive everyone is very friendly and polite. The whale watch tours on the Monterey bay are very well organized and many different crews and boats work together to give there passengers the best chance to see whales so you will be along side many other vessels. We saw a gray whale right out of the inlet . Soon after we followed an large pod of Orca (killer whales) for most of the journey some of the time within a few feet of the whales allowing great photo opportunities! on the way back even caught a Humpback whale where even though we were over the 3 hour max for the tour the captain still stopped and allowed us to view the humpback and take a few more photo's! Overall a great experience I would recommend anyone take advantage of!

We would definitely recommend the whale watching tour. The price was very reasonable. Boat staff was very courteous and provided very useful information about whales. On our tour, we were able to see several blue whales, dolphins, seals, otters, and other fish.

i read in the san francisco newspaper that the whales were in monterey bay by the 100's. my wife and i decided to check it out and we were not disappointed. the boat was full but we had no problems viewing the whales. the skillful boat captain was able to get close enough to the whales, for photos, without disturbing/harassing them. it was a totally enjoyable experience and we will do it again next year, hopefully with the grand kids.

We took the trip on a bright clear day. We were able to watch 2 Hump back whales..quite a sight to see them. The captain and the marine biologist were able to spot them first and they let us know in advance which direction to look for and then they turn the boat accordingly.We were able to watch the whales four times as they came up for breathing every 5 to 7 mins. Earlier we thought we spotted a blue whale but couldn't see that again. We also saw many sea lions , sea otters and tons of jelly fish. Worth it ...except that we all got little sea sick and tired.

We went for the 10.00 AM whale watching show, they started the trip right on time. We were pleasantly surprised to find about 10 whales in our 2.30 hour cruise. The crew and the guide were very nice and made every effort to sight the whales and stay on its tail and followed the group of whales. Our guide was very good, she explained this the right way and once we spotted the whales, we stayed right there, we must have spent more than a hour easily on those whales. We also saw a variety of other wildlife like dolphins, seals and sea lions. All in all it was a great worthwhile trip. I guess I was lucky

It was one of the best experience of my life.
