Scenic Movie Tour of Monterey

Had family visiting from Scotland and this was a perfect way to spend an afternoon seeing the sights of Monterey and Carmel in addition to all the wonderful movie clips. Great tour!! All five of us enjoyed it. You have to take it!!

Such a wonderful tour! Doug really creates the visual for you as well, so that you feel like you are there in the moment that the movie was made. He also takes such good care of each passenger, offers to take pictures for you, and gives a wealth of info. I highly recommend this tour.

We love movie tours! What fun it is to relive some of the best times of your life as you remember all those movies you'd long forgotten. Guided tours help you really "see" what you are seeing. Especially in the movies, what's on the screen is just a snippet of the actual location so when you're on the Monterey Movie Tour, you get the whole context as well as the backstory of the filming. Doug, the owner and driver, has lots of tales to tell and knows all the shoots in the area. Anything you want to know or rumor you've heard, just ask him. The movie bus is comfortable and well-appointed and having Doug driving is great (especially on the 17-Mile Drive when you can just be a lookie-loo). And taking this tour sure added a slew more movies to our "get and watch" list. Highly recommended for a fun afternoon.

My wife and I were taking our first trip to California as a 40th Anniversary present to ourselves. We read good reviews of this tour on several sites and took a chance on reserving it. There were only 6 people on our tour, as a larger group had to do a last minute cancellation. However, Doug, the owner/operator, was just as enthusiastic as if our tour bus was filled. We learned and saw things that I know we would have missed had we explored the area by ourselves. Doug is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about movies filmed in the area, as well as the history of the area. The bus was very clean, comfortable, and had a very good headphone system to hear the scenes from the movies and well as Doug's narration. If you get the chance to visit this beautiful part of the United States, please do yourself a favor and take this tour.

After all the walking we did on our visit to Monterey, it was relaxing to take a bus tour of past movie sites that we were not aware of until it was pointed out by Doug. We also enjoyed the stops on the beach and the lodge at Pebble Beach as well as the drive along the coast. The character of the homes in Pacific Grove are unique with the large windows and view of the ocean. I highly recommend the trip to movie fans, but also because you can enjoy the landscape and beauty of the area in the comfort of a tour bus.

Doug, our tour guide, was wonderful. The tour is complete, very interesting, and the stops made at the various locations offered the visitors the opportunity for great photos. Hightly recommend this tour.

It was such a professionally run tour. The owner was very knowledgeable and the setup was great in the coach for showing the movie scenes and then understanding the background behind the scenes. The tour was great just to get a glimpse of the areas of Monterey, pacific grove and carmel including 17 mile drive. My husband especially liked the stop at pebble beach golf club. What a wonderful time.

This was a fun way to see Monterey, hearing about some history that we wouldn't have known about had we driven the 17 mile drive on our own. Also, it was really nice to see the Pebble Beach lodge!

We went on the trip with my boyfriends elderly parents. We all enjoyed it. It included beautiful scenery, nostalgic movie trivia, interesting history, and was very comfortable. 3 hours went by very quickly. Breaks at the lone pine and pebble beach were perfect. The tour guide was kind, fun, and informative.

My wife and I are movie lovers, and we thoroughly enjoyed this homage to the silver screen. Doug has a vast knowledge of the films made in the Monterey area, along with many interesting anecdotes about the locations and actors. We heartily recommend this tour, especially for locals like ourselves!
