Scenic Movie Tour of Monterey

We felt fortunate that we were even able to take the tour, as our tour guide, (also the owner of the company), got on the bus extremely ill, and at first was going to cancel the tour! However, trooper that he was, after a small break, he came back and said he could do it after all. We were quite relieved, as we had looked forward to this tour for quite some time. The tour took us to the sites where some of the most famous movies of all times were made. As I am passionate about classic movies, this was quite a treat for me. Cannery Row, Pebble Beach, sites in and around Monterey and the 17-Mile Drive were included. I was glad that the 17-Mile Drive was included, as there is a fairly steep charge to go on it on your own, and while it's a beautiful drive, you're mostly looking at the summer homes of a lot of extremely wealthy people, while being reminded of how middle-class you are. Besides that, we enjoyed seeing where A Summer Place, Play Misty for Me, Mutiny on the Bounty, The Big Bounce, The Parent Trap and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir were filmed, just to name a few. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves classic movies. It was a beautiful and memorable drive through one of the most beautiful areas in California. We really appreciated our tour guide taking us on the tour and doing a lovely job in spite of his condition. He provided loads of movie facts, also information about Monterey, and surrounding areas, and all while we were riding on a lovely comfortable tour bus.

This tour was a good way to see and gain access to a few locations and scenic views otherwise not available to the general public. Doug was a great guide, very personable. Pick-up location was convenient as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Scenic Tour of Monterey. The scenery was spectacular, the stories were interesting and informative, and we were lucky enough to have a fantastic driver (the owner of this great tour). We didn't realize that many of the places that we were passing daily were locations used in films! We were actually staying within walking distance of several of them and went back to check them out again. Thanks for a great three hours.

COULD NOT HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING WE SAW ON OUR OWN, BUS TOUR WAS GREAT, LET THE DRIVING TO SOMEONE ELSE AND GET THE INFO YOU CAN GET FROM SOMEONE EXPERIENCED PEBBLE BEACH WAS THE HIGHLIGHT, AMAZING TO SEE HOW THE OTHER WORLD LIVES.

If you do this tour early in your Monteray stay you will appreciate the area even more.

We really enjoyed the tour. Our driver was great!!! I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Monterey area.

This was almost two tours! We had continual commentary on what was around, out the window. Plus the many, many movie scenes from Monterey showed on the bus monitors! Very interesting. We really liked it and do recommend to others, even if you aren't a movie buff.

excellent bus, guide and presentation

Doug, our tour guide, was great. It was fun to watch the movies while being in the actual place where the movies were filmed.We loved touring around the towns and learning tidbits about each place.The bus was very comfortable and each seat was a good view. Plan on making this tour part of your iterary!
