I had taken this tour several years ago and thought it was great. Some of my family were here visiting last week. They aren't really movie buffs, but I thought they would enjoy the tour. They absolutely loved it! I loved it just as much the second time! Doug, the owner and tour guide, is great. We all agreed that it was the best thing we did the whole time they were here (and we did a lot!). I can't say enough good things about Monterey Movie Tours! It's a mini history of the area, a tour of our scenic wonders and a movie location tour all wrapped up in one tour. I'm a resident of Monterey and I was very pleased that I could give my family such a great experience. You have got to take this tour!
Rating: 5 Great tour - well worth the time

We just happened to get the owner as our tour guide - he was very personable and seemed to enjoy giving the tour as much as we enjoyed going on it. It's nice to learn some of the history and behind the scenes things you wouldn't otherwise be aware of.
Rating: 5 Don't miss it

Our expectations were exceeded. We had the feeling that it was more than just an informative tour but a mission. If you love Monterey, you will love it even more. If you love the movies, you will love them even more. Nothing but respect for the work Scenic Movie Tour of Monterey is doing. Can't always get sunshine but you will always go away with more than you came with.

This was the second time I took this tour. It is the best way to see the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. The bus has state of the art audio and visual capabilities, is immaculate and comfortable to ride in. Doug, the owner and tour guide, does a fantastic job and is a wealth of information. If you are a movie buff and love the Monterey Peninsula, this tour is a "must do". You won't be disappointed!
Rating: 5 Fun, info-packed, scenic Monterey Tour!

Great having a local personality in DJ Doug as our guide. He's a warm personality and very knowledgeable of the Monterey/Carmel area. Man, does he know his movies! It was fun watching the video clips as we approached each of the sites that was on them. "A Summer Place" with Troy and Sandra is one of my wife's favorite old-time movies and the theme from that movie is so hauntingly beautiful. The tour was not only movie sites but of the whole Monterey Peninsula (including Carmel and Pacific Grove), one of the most picturesque areas in all the world. We enjoyed the scenery in your comfortable bus and the several places for photo ops. Standing right alongside the 18th green at Pebble Beach was one of the highlights for me. Thanks for a great time!!

Great way to see the 17 mile scenic drive and learn information about the area, the sites and its history. Loved spending time at Pebble Beach

This is a wonderful tour of the Monterey Peninsula in addition to the movie history. It was a three hour tour but the time went so fast because it was so enjoyable. The tour guide was terrific with an excellent sense of humor and a lot of knowledge about the Monterey area. I'm not sure how much people under the age of 40 would enjoy the movie history but they will surely enjoy the beauty of the area.

I took this tour with my sister who lives in San Diego. I am a local resident having lived on the Peninsula for over 20 years. Taking this tour with my sister I once again realized what a magnificently pictueresque area Monterey truly is for any movie director. It was just a lot of fun seeing actual movie sights and how Hollywood can make Pebble Beach appear to be England. The tour guide gives you Hollywood insider tips which are good for a laugh or amazement. One aspect of the tour anyone would like is that you see the entire Monterey area in a three hour voyage and you don't have to drive it yourself, get lost, or pay the entrance fee into the 17 Mile Drive...you can sit back, relax, and leave the driving to somebody else...it's worth the price of admission to anyone who is in charge of dragging guests around on a vacation! The tour guy has a soothing, Hollywood voice, who is adept at driving and providing fun facts of movie land all at the same time. AND if you've ever wanted to see the 18th Hole of Pebble Beach this is the tour for you...there is a 40 minute stop over there and you too could have a glass of wine at the Pebble Beach Lodge overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the 18th Hole where the greatest of the golf world have played...just be sure to set aside $16.00 for that glass of wine!!!! ha ha ENJOY...oh, kids would not really be interested in this tour...I doubt they'd appreciate the movies of Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Rooney...Take a date, leave the kids somewhere else...
