Monterey Movie Tours

My sisters and I took the tour (2 of us live locally, 1 out of state) and we LOVED it! Being locals, we were surprised to see so many films made on the Peninsula and the scenic drive is so enjoyable. We happened to take the tour on one of those fabulous warm, clear days so it make everything sparkle! We would highly recommend this tour.

I like the way this tour combines sightseeing and clips from movies filmed in, or associated with, the Monterey Bay area. The tour guide's "insider" knowledge of the movies' trivia was also a plus.

My wife and I were in wonderment at the knowledge and insightfulness of the tour. Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about the location, movies involved, indepth knowledge and experiences of the area, local celebrities and his personal interaction with them in the very recent and over time. We highly recommend the tour to anyone. We know that he only showed us some of what he has to share, so when we are back in the Carmel / Monterey area, we will be back on the tour for more. We enjoyed everything about this tour and would recommend it to all age groups. I plan to rent or stream all the movies that I hadn't seen before. The scenery alone was worth the tour and all the stops were great. Our guide knew his stuff.

While general tour fans will thoroughly enjoy the sights of the Monterey?Carmel area, movie buffs will find the tour even more interesting. The combination of seeing the filming locations while watching the movie clips was more than worth the price of the tour.The commentary was great and access to the 17-Mile Drive was made it even more fun. Would do it again.

What we thought to be a ho-hum kind of tour turned out to be an interesting and fun tour. The movie connection is such a great idea! The driver/operator is very friendly and knowledgeable. I'll recommend this to friends and family.

The tour was a fun tour and a great chance to see Monterey, Carmel and the 17-mile Drive. The tour bus was comfortable and the tour guide was fun and enthusiastic. This tour also includes spending about 40 minutes at Pebble Beach and seeing the club house, the 18th green and the awesome view that goes with it.

This is definitely a good way to start your tour of Monterey. It takes you to places you would never think of going. Movie buffs would definitely enjoy this time. It also gives you ideas on places you may want to visit in the future.

We are from Pacifica, CA and visit Carmel/Monterey couple times a year. So happy we discovered the tour bus and really enjoyed the whole trip. The driver was very professional and courteous. It'll be a great gift for family and friends. Thank you.

I took my wife on the tour for her birthday; we didn't know exactly what to expect but we thought it sounded fun. We did have a lot of fun, actually, and learned a lot about our local area, including how movies were filmed in the area and that there are actually lots of "remnants" left behind from those movies, such as historic buildings that still exist. The tour operator/owner, Doug, is very knowledgeable and makes the whole experience very entertaining. Highly recommended!

This is a great tour that combines love of movies, beautiful scenery and local lore. Our awesome tour guide, Doug was cheerful, informative, and offered a lot of fun trivia factoids. When a large group failed to show up as scheduled, instead of canceling, Doug took just me and my sister on the tour . . . now that's above and beyond the call of duty!

My friend, who returned home to Southern California, e-mailed to say that she was going to bed and dream wonderful dreams of the time she spent in Santa Cruz and Monterey especially the Movie Tour Bus.

The trip was interesting and informative. We visited places not seen by us before even though we have been in the area for over 12 years. The guide was knowledgeable and humorous and impressed our relative from overseas. The technology worked well and the stops were picturesque and interesting. The first one correctly had washroom facilities. A longer trip to include a visit to Pt Lobos park onm hioghway would be an excellent addition. More money I suppose?

Doug, - the owner and our tour director - was passionate and knowledgeable about both movies/related trivia, and history of the Monterey Peninsula. Seeing movie clips while cruising through locations where they were filmed was a unique, entertaining experience . Nostalgia time for me watching Elizabeth Taylor - my favorite actress when I was a child - riding horseback in National Velvet, Clips featuring Doris Day, Kim Novak, and Marilyn Monroe brought back fond memories of movies past. My husband was more taken by seeing the Pebble Beach Golf Course up-close and personal. We enjoyed relaxing with a margarita overlooking the 18th green at the Lodge. Doug's enthusiastic, easy going presentation was peppered with colorful tidbits of information. Breathtaking scenery along the way. Enjoy!!!

Tour did not have enough variety of movies and mostly showed scenes from one movie. Tour was advertised as three hours, but was just a little over two hours. The scenery along 17 mile drive was beautiful. Driver seemed bored. Not worth the cost.
