Monterey Movie Tours

My husband and I went to California for our 30th wedding anniversary. We decided to book this tour via the web after reviewing it, and we were not disappointed! The tour guide was well informed and gave us a tremendous amount of information. It was so much fun watching the film clips and then seeing the place they were filmed. Talk about going back in time! It also provided a great tour of the Monterey/Carmel area. I certainly recommend this if you have any interest in the area and the movies. What a great combination! Have fun and enjoy!

My wife and I are movie lovers, and we thoroughly enjoyed this homage to the silver screen. Doug has a vast knowledge of the films made in the Monterey area, along with many interesting anecdotes about the locations and actors. We heartily recommend this tour, especially for locals like ourselves!

Doug, our tour guide, was wonderful. The tour is complete, very interesting, and the stops made at the various locations offered the visitors the opportunity for great photos. Hightly recommend this tour.

We wish we'd taken this tour on our first visit to Monterey! It was so much fun to learn inside facts about the area -- like who lives where -- plus it was a beautiful drive. If you like movies, the movie trivia will delight you. You won't see films the same way again! We enjoyed the time at Pebble Beach Golf Club, too -- fun to watch the foursomes finishing up on the 18th hole. Our guide was warm and wonderful. All-in-all, a happy memory and well worth the time.

Our East coast friends thoroughly enjoyed the movie overview of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach with a little bit of Carmel, especially the stop at Pebble Beach lodge with color commentary. As locals we found it not as interesting because we know the locale so well. However, hosting our friends made it well worthwhile. Going on Tuesday is an added bonus because it ends just as the fabulous Monterey Farmer's Market opens a few steps away.

This was fascinating. Tour guide interesting and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We've seen all of the sights before, but we saw it all in a new way. We recommend it to all!!!!

All the people in my group enjoyed the Monterey movie tour. The bus goes all over the peninsula so this is a good tour for first time visitors. The people in my group were avid movie buffs. We thoroughly enjoyed the movie clips we saw. At the beginnning of the tour there is a video presentation that goes from one movie title to another, chosen from the 200 movies filmed in the Monterey area. This part was cut off pretty quickly, which was frustrating to us. We would have enjoyed seeing much more. The one thing about the tour that could have been better would be showing parts of more movies and having less talk by the tour guide. Overall though, the tour was a pleasure.

We had a great time doing the Monterey Movie Tour. Doug, the owner and tour leader, gives a great narration and we learned a lot about movies filmed in Monterey while have a nice tour of Monterey, Pacific Grove and the 17 Mile Drive - including Pebble Beach. Doug made it special as he obviously loves this area and he is both personable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it for visitors or local people. I have lived in Pacific Grove for 5 years and I really enjoyed it.

My boyfriend & I had THE BEST TIME on this tour. Doug is so knowledgeable, & the tour is so well done. The movies shown on the screen match whatever he's talking about at the time. He has truly perfected this tour. The stops we made were necessary to the tour. Bird rock was absolutely gorgeous ! The lone cypress is truly awesome ! Pebble Beach was a real treat because there's no way we ever would have gone there without this tour, & yet we've heard about it our whole lives. The whole tour was truly a highlight of our weeklong trip to the San Francisco area.

On my second time on the tour with my sister and friends we were again shown an enertaining time and our friends too were pleased.

Really liked this! A great way to remember movies and see the real Monterey at the same time!

From the moment my friends and I hopped on the 'Hollywood Bus' we immediately felt that we were not only going to see beautiful landscapes but also that we would experience being in the movies as our tour guide broke down the movie scenes as we were slowly entering the space where it all took place. In one word "Magical". I am so glad that we decided to take this trip upon our arrival to Monterey, because we all felt like we knew the history of that beautiful town and beyond. We felt like we belonged (at least for the four days we stayed). I don't know when I'll be back, but this is a definite must do. I hope the tour gets extended to other towns, I wouldn't mind a four hour tour :)
