Monterey Movie Tours

Liked very much: 1. Seeing the clips and hearing the 'setup' just as we drove up to the spot where the movie scene was made. Great timing! 2. The information Doug provided. 3. Doug's kind, professional manner and welcome greeting. (He should provide training to tour-bus guides. They could use his help.) 4. Comfortable bus. Would suggest: 1. A little less "Summer Place" movie stuff -- and a little more of the other movies filmed locally. Would have loved to hear more about "The Sand Piper" even if we didn't drive down to Big Sur. 2. Even though this is billed as a "Movie Tour," would love to have heard more about John Steinbeck, his books and characters as they related to Monterey area. (I'm a Steinbeck fan.)

We (party of four - 2women, 2men, all 70+) throughly enjoyed the tour. Of course the weather was so cooperative that I am sure it helped! We will do it again with other out of towners.

This was our 3rd time on the tour. Each time we have brought different friends. It's something you can do even if it rains. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it. This time we had absolutely beautiful weather. What a relaxing way to go to see the area and what it has to offer. The views from the bus couldn't have been better. And what fun information..........everyone we have taken are movie fans so this was a special treat for them. All loved stopping by Pebble Beach to walk around a bit............some to the 18th hole and some to the shops. Doug is very personable and an excellent tour guide. Even hearing some stories for the 3rd time was ok as we really enjoyed his story-telling. We would highly recomment the Movie Tour to all. And I'm sure, we'll be back...........again!

If ever an Oscar is awarded for the "Best Movie Tour", Monterey Movie Tours deserves to be the recipient of the first one! I've taken this tour four times with all different groups of friends, and each time, everyone in my group has a great time. With the extraordinary Monterey Peninsula as a stunning back lot, you are given a front seat to some of Hollywood's most memorable film locations. This tour is well run, well managed and well researched. Serious film buffs will learn something new and novices to film history will be entertained and delighted as well. Hooray for Hollywood and the Monterey Movie Tours!

The Four of us have visited the Monterey Bay many times but the discovery of this tour made this visit much more memorable. The idea of visiting sights where great movies were filmed and touring the gorgeous peninsula was great fun. Having a comfortable bus with monitors to view movie scenes from each location was great. We will highly recommend this tour to everyone .

We enjoyed our tour very much. We would have missed some of the sights and definitely some of the "low-down" on the area if we hadn't taken the tour. The movie scenery was fun-just wish the movies had been more current. Some were pretty old although it was still fun to see the locations. Seeing where John Denver crashed his plane, the lone cypress and the Pebble Beach Golf course and club was interesting. It was great that there was time to get off the bus and take pictures of the highlights. The owner/guide was great-you'll love him.

We enjoyed the delightful tour of the Monterey area with Doug. We took this tour upon our arrrival in Monterey and thought this would be a unique way of learning more about the area, as we were going to be visiting for a week. Wow......were we thrilled we hopped on the bus, after the three hour tour! Doug is a great tour guide and we enjoyed his stories. We saw some great sites and enjoyed the 17 Mile Drive, as well as Pebble Beach. It was nice we had a 40 minute stop there, as we were able to take pictures and do a little shopping. We learned so much about the area and took tons of pictures. We would highly recommend this tour........it is awesome! Thanks for a great time!!

This tour was the highlight of our stay in Monterery. The four of us were given the VIP tour as the rest of the group did not make the departure time. Their bus broke down on the way to Monterery. Doug considered cancelling but decided "On with the show". We enjoyed all the film clips, stories and views this tour provided. Thanks again for a fantastic tour!

I had a great time on the tour. We were particularly lucky to have the owner, Doug as our guide. Doug was friendly, easy-going, knowledgeable and fun. His experience in the business and knowledge of the area and the related movies was great. It was cool to be right in front of a place and have it perfectly synced up with the scene from the movie. It was a good way to see 17 mile drive and not have to worry about keeping your eyes on the road. There are three photo-ops along the way and that was just right. The highlight for me was Pebble Beach. They were setting up for the 2010 PGA and it added to the excitement for me since my son is an avid golfer. Thank you for a fun and carefree tour of this beautiful, world reknown corner of the earth.

We are new to the area. We bought a home in Pacific Grove and have been learning about the area. Our friends from Rotary had been on the tour and were very enthusiastic about it. We organized a group of friends and made the adventure happen. Everyone enjoyed the tour, but we mostly enjoyed the enthusiasm of the tour driver. He has given the tour many times, but like a good trouper of show business, he knows that the tour is new to each person that steps onto the bus. He made the tour come alive. I liked the idea of introductions at the beginning. They helped to break the ice and it was interesting to find out where people were from. The ear phones kept breaking up at the back of the bus, that was a little distracting. It would be innovative to think about jumping into the 21st century with a Hybrid bus (Do they make them?) or even something with more leg room! The people we brought with us just moved to PG from Orlando Florida, they had a great time. We twisted the arm of our Real Estate agent who has lived here for 35 years, she was astounded. Friends from Fresno have been put on alert, and are planning to take the tour. Except for my ineptness with Zerve, the entire experience was a blast! Thank you for a very fun day!
