| My father was stationed at Fort Ord and the family moved to Salinas after he retired in the early 60's. We had many years in Monterey County before some family members settled in other areas of California. My husband and I have lived in Salinas with our own children since 1965. The four of us siblings have a special weekend together a few times a year. After hearing about Monterey Movie Tours on Magic 63, I checked the website and decided this could be a very interesting and entertaining event for our next gathering. They were excited about it, too. Finally our weekend came. The weather was beautiful, and the three hours flew by as we toured through Monterey County. The clips we saw from the numerous films - many of which were so familiar to us - were brought to life by seeing the actual sites along the tour. Our guide was a wealth of information and trivia, had a sense of humor, and was always willing to answer our questions. It was wonderful to have this extra layer of life added to our lives' path in Monterey County. It was not only fun, but gave us an additional appreciation of this beautiful area, along with a strong desire to revisit many of the movies we learned about on our tour. We all strongly recommend that visitors - and locals - take this interesting and fun tour. Thank you for sharing the entertainment and local beauty in such a delightful way! We will definitely bring others back with us for a tour in the future. | ||||||

| This tour was a good way to see and gain access to a few locations and scenic views otherwise not available to the general public. Doug was a great guide, very personable. Pick-up location was convenient as well. | ||||||

| Whether you are a film buff or not, I think everyone would enjoy this tour as the scenery is gorgeous, the (3) stops are interesting and the bus is very comfortable. I learned a lot about local history as well, and I particularly enjoyed the stories our enthusiastic guide told us about the area and the celebrities he has met over the years. | ||||||

| Doug has put together a tour that shows the most beautiful coast line in the world and you get to see how Hollywood has used it. Most of the movies claim it's some exotic far away place but it's really right here in Northern California. Our friends from Texas enjoyed the feeling of having access to these "Secret" places. I highly recommend the tour especially if you get the picture perfect weather we were lucky to enjoy. | ||||||

| We thoroughly enjoyed the movie tour. It was very exciting to be able to see actual movie scenes on the monitor while parked in front of the actual location scene. It was a thrill. The tour guide did a wonderful job and offered a a lot of insight into what went on behind the scenes. We had a great a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. | ||||||

| We love movies. We love this area and are proud that so many films have and are being made here. My mother is 91... she had a great time remembering the older movies, especially the beach scene "From Here to Eternity"! The ongoing commentary about the local stars, real estate prices, etc. was very entertaining. The weather was beautiful, the music wonderful, and the sea gorgeous. | ||||||

| After having seen Doug Lumsden on KRON with Jan Wahl, we reserved seats for the Friday after Thanksgiving. There's nothing like being able to see the actual sites in the movies just before seeing them "in person". I think I would have preferred a little less of The Summer Place and a wider variety of movies, but enjoyed myself nonetheless. Thanks! | ||||||

| The ladies who rode on this tour, very much enjoyed it. They were from South Africa, Greece and Australia. They mentioned that they found the movie clips helpful in seeing the location where it was filmed. They would recommend this to others. | ||||||

| My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time on this tour. The owner/tour guide was so very knowledgeable and his wit and humor added tremendously to the tour. We both loved the way he blended the movie clips with the actual scene we were observing out the windows of the bus. We would have driven by these localities without ever once suspecting what had been filmed there. But now we understand how much alive that whole area is in terms of being one big movie set. Since our son, Johnny Messner, is an actor we are a little knowledgeable of how films are made, but this tour really helped us learn so much more. | Our group all had a great time. The driver was lots of fun and so knowledgeable on all the movies. The weather was great so the bus ride and scenery were the best. I highly recommend the tour to everyone. Need to publicize it more as a lot of people have never heard of it. Great way to spend an afternoon. | ||||||

| It was enjoyable to see and hear much of the Monterey Peninsula history from someone who seemed to know it well. The Movie Tour portion was fine, with my only complaint being that it should include more movies and not rely so much on "A Summer Place" and on Clint Eastwood. It sometimes seemed as if Eastwood was a sponsor, inasmuch as he got so much promotion. Also, I was under the impression there had been at least 200 movies shot around the Peninsula but we heard about and saw only a few. Less of sites from "A Summer Place" and more varied movies would have added substantially to the tour. | ||||||
