Monterey Movie Tours

This is my third time on the tour..brought two rookies with me this time. It is very relaxing and informative to drive around the area watching the clips of movies. Stopping at Pebble Beach is awesome. Great job Doug!!!

Very charming tour; our guide was very informative and entertaining! Highly recommend this tour if you don't have a lot a time to explore Carmel/Pebble Beach/Monterey. Our guide suggested dinner at the Carmel Mission Ranch Restaurant - one of the best meals I've ever had and Clint Eastwood dined about 12 feet away!

Picture yourself on a clean bus with headrest covers embroidered with names of movie stars. Listen to the voice of guide and local radio personality Doug L. who knows the area, knows the gossip (but says only kind-hearted things) and who keeps the tour interesting with knowledge and humor. I admire how he respects the privacy of Monterey area celebrities, but still has many good-natured stories to tell. The tour is well paced and allows for short breaks. The monitors overhead show clips from movies filmed in the area, just as you drive by the location: National Velvet. A Summer Place, Turner & Hooch, and many, many more. See Marilyn Monroe working at the Cannery! Watch Doris Day almost drive off a cliff! Headsets assure that every passenger hears every word. My husband and I are from southern California and grew up around celebrities. This tour was still fascinating and well worth the price.

I enjoyed the tour and seeing clips of movies I have seen over the years! My husband enjoyed getting to enjoy the scenery while someone else was doing the driving!

This was something different to a place that both my husband and myself love. It gave a new point to the 17 mile drive and being one who grew up watching most of these films it was even better.

Our guest from Finland enjoyed every minute of the Movie Tour. Vicky watched many movies that Movie Tours covered, she said that is how she learned much of her English.

I'm a movie nut so this tour was great fun for my husband and I. The tour guy was informative and made it quite interesting. Not only the movies but the description of the area as well. The seats were comfortable and the video monitors and headsets were clear and had good volume. The stop at Pebble Beach was a little too long though 45 min. All in all I would highly recommend this event for everyone (over50 ish).

Was a lot more than a "movie" tour. We could not have had a better tour of the Monterey/Carmel area than this. Glad we did not try this on our own! Anyone wanting to see and learn more about this little special area of CA, should definitely sign up for this tour. Thanks a million (:

We purchased the tickets for out of state guests. When they had to cancel their visit we asked local friends who grew up in the area if they would like to use the tickets. We were surprised how excited they were to be available to go on the tour. One of my friends wrote me: "I have always wanted to go on the movie tour. I don't know why I haven't. It was so much fun. You really got to see the area and I learned so much about movies I enjoy....when I have visitors I'm going to suggest taking the tour."

The tour leader was great--so knowledgeable and personable. It was one of the best tours I've been on and I learned a great deal. Fascinating to see places where so many movies were filmed and to see clips of the movies themselves. Plus he's had personal contact with some of the stars. And we did the 17 Mile Drive and I saw it and Pebble Beach (where we made a stop) as I'd never seen them before.

The movie sites and movie clips at the same time was a real addition to a tour of a truly beautiful area. Enjoyed the commentary as we drove along and the stops along the way.

All four of us, including one man, enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide, Doug, grew up in the area so has a tremendous amount of background knowledge. Highly recommend this tour for adults, especially older ones who will remember more of the movies and actors.

The bus is A1. Comfortable, monitors easy to see, individual headphones. The tour guide was very well versed on all Movies shot on and around Monterey Bay as well as helpful information on area attractions. Fun to see actual scene on the monitor right when seeing the location it was filmed. Stop at Pebble Beach was perfect. I plan to take my husband on it next time when he is not playing golf on our next visit!

I enjoy the tour! Love being able to see the actual locations live and on the screen! Love all the information provided by the guide, the stops everything was great! Worth every penny!

I've been on Monterey tours before, but this was definitely the most fun and informative. I love movies so seeing the scenes from the movies on the bus and then seeing the actual places they were filmed was terrific. Loved the tour guide!
