Monterey Movie Tours

This is a very fun and interesting tour of lovely buildings and vistas in the Monterey area which appear in many famous movies. If you love movies and exceptional scenery, you will enjoy this tour. The guide is very personable and has many interesting insider stories about the movie business and movies which have been shot on location in the Monterey area.

This is an essential tour for anyone visting the Monterey area. Provides not only valuable insight into the area but encompasses the majestic beauty of the pennisula. Doug is a fantastic host and representative of this amazing area.

This is a great way to see the 17 mile drive and part of Carmel. Lots of information and fun facts about many movies that have had scenes shot in Monterey County. I recommend the tour before driving the route on your own. You will learn of things to see and do that are not well known and not included on the tour. Doug, tour guide and owner, is very knowledgeable and personable. We had a great time. Now I need to watch some of those older movies!

Tour covered all of the highlights. Good tour for an overall view. 17 mile drive andPebble Beach were the highlights.

I went on this tour with my dad and we thoroughly enjoyed learning some new facts about Monterey and Carmel in regards to where movies were filmed and how many famous people have been to our lovely city. It also provided some excellent views of both cities and of Pebble Beach. All in all it was a great way to spend the day and site see around the Monterey Peninsula!!

The Monterey Movie Tour was a complete pleasure to go on - the guide was well-informed and entertaining and the scenery and movie scenes were perfectly timed. The bus was clean and comfortable, allowing for a wonderful experience. The only drawback would be the extended break at Pebble Beach (it felt like we were there longer than we needed to be - I'm not a golf person so I got somewhat bored). Otherwise, highly recommended!

The tour leader was extremely personable and informative. The sights were interesting and breathtakingly beautiful. The tour bus was very comfortable with plenty of well-placed screens for viewing movie scenes as we looked at them in real time. I highly recommend the tour for both visitors and locals. I've been on it twice now and could happily go again tomorrow.

An enjoyable way to spend 3 hours. Great scenery and movies too. Our guide/driver was great and kept us entertained throughout the trip. He is also updating and changing clips as movies are made or new information on old ones comes out. One of the must do tours in the Monterey area.

Relaxing, informative and entertaining ride past various movie sites on the beautiful Monterey peninsula. Our driver and host was very charming and well informed and has many good "insider" stories about celebrities. If you have an interest in the movies and movie stars, or just want to take a comfortable ride along the beautiful Monterey coast, this is the trip for you.

Liked very much: 1. Seeing the clips and hearing the 'setup' just as we drove up to the spot where the movie scene was made. Great timing! 2. The information Doug provided. 3. Doug's kind, professional manner and welcome greeting. (He should provide training to tour-bus guides. They could use his help.) 4. Comfortable bus. Would suggest: 1. A little less "Summer Place" movie stuff -- and a little more of the other movies filmed locally. Would have loved to hear more about "The Sand Piper" even if we didn't drive down to Big Sur. 2. Even though this is billed as a "Movie Tour," would love to have heard more about John Steinbeck, his books and characters as they related to Monterey area. (I'm a Steinbeck fan.)

We (party of four - 2women, 2men, all 70+) throughly enjoyed the tour. Of course the weather was so cooperative that I am sure it helped! We will do it again with other out of towners.

This was our 3rd time on the tour. Each time we have brought different friends. It's something you can do even if it rains. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it. This time we had absolutely beautiful weather. What a relaxing way to go to see the area and what it has to offer. The views from the bus couldn't have been better. And what fun information..........everyone we have taken are movie fans so this was a special treat for them. All loved stopping by Pebble Beach to walk around a bit............some to the 18th hole and some to the shops. Doug is very personable and an excellent tour guide. Even hearing some stories for the 3rd time was ok as we really enjoyed his story-telling. We would highly recomment the Movie Tour to all. And I'm sure, we'll be back...........again!
