Monterey Movie Tours

What a great way to see the Monterey Bay area and the 17-Mile Drive, while watching and learning about movies filmed in the area! Anyone who loves movies (old and new) and the gorgeous Central California coast will really enjoy this tour.

Prompt departure with excellent commentary. We throughtly enjoyed meeting Doug and having him share his knowledge of the area, the history of same and movie information in general. Loved the casual conversation regarding growing up in the area (the personal touch) and information about some of the homes which helped us understand and appreciate the area. We thank him so much for pointing out areas we should visit while in the area, ie;, Point Lobos, Carmel Valley Mission etc. Overall it was a wonderful tour and we will certainly do it again and recommending it to friends. While we enjoyed Pebble Beach we thought the stop was a little too long and would have liked to stop maybe in Carmel for the same period. Perhaps that wasn't possible. We thank Doug so much and wish him much success with this delightful tour. Last but not least we enjoyed his choice of music, very relaxing while gazing at the beautiful scenery passing by. We loved the video and the information that went along with the video. The scenery was spectacular. Our guide was super! There was not one thing that we would suggest changing.

A wonderful, informative tour. The owner/driver was incredibly informative and highly personable. The movie locations, with attendant clips, were fascinating and the drive boasts awesome scenery.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Monterey Peninsula; the small coach was very comfortable and the tour guide was well-spoken and provided many interesting facts. We loved the fact that we were able to spend quite of bit of time at the Pebble Beach Lodge and time was included for photos of the Lone Cypress Tree and the beach.

The movie history is fascinating and well organized to keep you entertained and informed. In addition, the facts about the area as narrated by Doug on the scenic tour make this an unforgettable sightseeing trip and we live here! Doug is an engaging host and the entire adventure was thoroughly enjoyable and make us grateful we live locally.

The length of the tour, 3 hrs, was just right. We had a small group and I think this added to the detail in the commentary we got from the host Relied heavily on one movie, would like to have seen a greater variety My expectations for entertainment were exceeded. My wife and I highly recommend this method of viewing an unfamiliar city. Certainly allowed us to decide, in 3 hrs, where we wanted to come back and spend time The host was very clear in what were facts about the locations and quickly let us know if our questions involved unsubstantiated material; really appreciated this

I took two International high school students with me to enjoy this tour of Monterey. We all did. The driver (and owner) was great - very enjoyable! Would highly recommend! Will do it again with my niece who is into HOLLYWOOD and THE MOVIES.

This is a great tour whether you know the area well or not. In addition to the movie locations you get a conducted tour of the Monterey/Carmel/17-Mile-Drive area. The bus is comfortable, the owner, Doug, is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The idea of showing movie sequences on the video screens just as the bus arrives at the location is brilliant. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone with even a passing interest in the movie locations. A really fun afternoon and good value for money.

This was a very well thought out tour. The owner takes great pride in delighting his tourist with accurate information and operates rain or shine! Being a D.J. his voice is so soothing to listen to for 3 hours, the vidoe clips on the tv monitors are terrific and the timing of the drive,vidoes, and outside visuals very well timed. Impossible not to enjoy this tour!

The tour was a good break in our day and got us to see places and get info we probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise (E.g., Pebble Beach Lodge). We appreciated the fact that the tour ran with only 3 ticket-holders. We'd have definitely expected to have it canceled for lack of participation, so this made it more enjoyable. Felt we got very personalized treatment as a result. Probably could have done with less discussion of "A Summer Place," and maybe a tad less Clint Eastwood namedropping (since we weren't going to actually meet him), but all-in-all, fairly interesting reviews.
