Monterey Movie Tours

Doug (the owner/operator of this tour) provided a perfect package for a three hour trip from historic Monterey through the 17 Mile drive. The bus was exceptionally comfortable with large viewing windows and at all times Doug kept our interest with entertaining moments showing the various movies which had been produced in the area and all the while the scenery was breathtaking. The tour was nicely paced. I would recommend this tour highly especially to those who are over 40 years of age.

Nice Siteseeing Tour of Monterrey

This was a blast! We know the Monterey area pretty well, and we know old movies pretty well, and the combination this allows is wonderful fun! Possibly not for the easily or very car-sick, as watching on-board monitors and refocusing almost simultaneously outside the bus was occasionally vertigo-inspiring, but otherwise, I recommend this to anyone who loves movies and/or the central coast. Locals also should go!

As a past traveller to the Monterey Peninsula I knew the area reasonably well but decided to take "a tour with a difference" to see the area from a changed perspective. I was not disappointed. The driver ( whose name escapes me several months later now ) was the perfect guide for that kind of tour. He was knowledgeable, polite and a lot of fun as well as charming towards the ladies... but the thing that shone through was his enthusiasm for his work and his determination to ensure we ALL had the best possible time on his tour. Every tour operator strives to employ people with these qualities but few succeed like this one. The tour itself was very nostalgic for film buffs as I'm sure many people will have pointed out in other reviews however few realise what value for money it is as well. Travel the Monterey Peninsula in a private vehicle you get slugged for a fee of ( I believe ) $10.... add to that the easy to find online discount coupon I used and all of a sudden this fun guided tour isn't very expensive at all. We also got to wander unhindered about the famous Pebble Beach Golf Club Clubhouse as well as the lawns near the 18th green. Priceless to anyone who has ever wanted to play the game of golf. I heartily recommend this tour to anyone with any love of films of the past and even those who just want to sit back and be guided through a very scenic area by a fun and informative guy with lots of love for his town.

We had a wonderful time on The Movie Tour had read most reviews and knew we would not be disappointed :) we seen & learned so much that we would have never known !!!! 3 hours seemed as if they went by go quickly!!! I would hate to give all the details of this tour but would definitely suggest you give it a try I do personally garaurantee you will have a fabulous TIME!!!!

Our East coast friends thoroughly enjoyed the movie overview of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach with a little bit of Carmel, especially the stop at Pebble Beach lodge with color commentary. As locals we found it not as interesting because we know the locale so well. However, hosting our friends made it well worthwhile. Going on Tuesday is an added bonus because it ends just as the fabulous Monterey Farmer's Market opens a few steps away.

We enjoyed the tour. The movie aspect was entertaining and instructive. The scenic part was a good solid basic tour of the sights of the peninsula.

I am from Oklahoma and I recently took this tour with my cousin from Monterey. We both LOVED it! The movie clips were fun and the personal information the guide adding was interesting. I have been coming to Monterey for decades and I found this tour to be special and unique. Highly recommend.

The tour was interesting and a good way to see part of the area. We were given a good movie preview and enjoyed the commentary.

We enjoyed the tour a lot and it allowed us to see all of the things we wanted to see. We would have appreciated a little more info on the area and fewer movie clips that you used as fillers. You have a wealth of knowledge about this area and would have loved to hear more!!

Probably the best tour I've ever been on. Doug does a first-rate job of welcoming people and offering his assistance with photos without being a nuisance. he is also very knowledgeable and his interest in his work shows. I had my doubts but wow, this was awesome!
