Monterey Movie Tours

This is definitely a "must see and experience" tour. The scenery is breathtaking, the movie clips are very entertaining, and the narration is absolutely fascinating. A memory that will linger long after the trip is over! Thank you!

Enjoyed the tour so much that this was my second time. The owner (guide) was so nice that on the day we took the tour, a group of 15 cancelled one hour before the tour and still he took the 3 of us who had bought tickets earlier on the tour anyway. The views along 17 mile drive are spectacular and you are given plenty of time for taking pictures.The guide knows tons of interesting facts about the movies and it is really fun to see a portion of a movie at the same time you are looking at where it was filmed. The timing was awesome. I would recommend this tour for US citizens and also people from other countries. Everyone will find a scene or a fact that they will really enjoy. The bus was very comfortable and the monitors easy to see. The ocean is so beautiful and the waves and the wind were especially wonderful on the day we visited. There is also some good shopping in the area where you exit the bus.. Hope you enjoy your tour as much as we did.

The tour was enlightening and great fun. Doug shares alot of stories about the movies as well as the Monterey/Carmel area.

We are from San Jose and have spent many weekends in Carmel area. We have done everything there is to do, we thought. While searching the internet I found Movie Tours. We were celebrating our 44 yr. anniversary. Signed up immediately. Doug did a wonderful job. The monitors and earphones were great. We already recommended Movie Tours to our B&B and our Villages Activities Office.

My husband and I loved the tour. Bus was very comfortable, we loved everything about the tour. It was so much fun to watch part of a film and then to see the homes in real life. I would recommend to everyone who loves movies.

Doug (the owner/operator of this tour) provided a perfect package for a three hour trip from historic Monterey through the 17 Mile drive. The bus was exceptionally comfortable with large viewing windows and at all times Doug kept our interest with entertaining moments showing the various movies which had been produced in the area and all the while the scenery was breathtaking. The tour was nicely paced. I would recommend this tour highly especially to those who are over 40 years of age.

With only two days in the Carmel/Monterrey area, we felt we would see more by taking a tour. We were so happy that we did. It was fun and we got to see all the sights! Doug is warm, friendly, and so knowledgable about the area.

Overall, this tour was well worth the money. Not only did it include history on past movies filmed in the area, but it also included a tour of Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, and Carmel. Our tour guide, Doug, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. There were 3 stops along the way to take pictures along the Monterey Bay Peninsula coastline, which included an extended stop (approximately 40 minutes) at The Lodge at Pebble Beach....a haven for golf fans! I highly recommend this tour especially if you want to get a quick glimpse of the Monterey Bay area.

If you want to learn about movies that have been filmed in Monterey/Carmel then this is the tour to take---old movies, new movies---you'll be astonished at the fun you will have and what you will learn---you will find yourself saying, "I didn't know that"---not only will you learn about local filming sites but you get to tour the beautiful Monterey Peninsula! I recommend it to anyone who loves movies and the Monterey Peninsula!

My wife and I had a wonderful time on the Scenic Movie Tour of Monterey (SMTM). Doug was a fantastic tour narrator. He not only provided wonderful commentary about the movies, which was what I came for, he provided very insightful history of Monterey, Carmel, and the rest of the Monterey Peninsula. If you plan to come to Monterey, the SMTM is a must. Doug was the best!

It was fun to ride along and be taken back to days gone by when movies were black and white and still alot of romance. Pebble Beach was fun and being told the history. If we did ourselves we wouldn't have known any of that.

The tour guide was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. The tour was well organized and very interesting.

celebrating her 80th birthday, my friend and I immensely enjoyed our movie tour in monterey. it was a clear sunny day, the grass was green, the surf was crashing, the ice plants were in bloom, the movie clips were perfectly synched to our arrival at the location sites. we saw some of our old favorites and learned some new things too. who knew national velvet was filmed on the pebble beach golf course! our tour guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and fun. would love to do it all over again. It was a monterey tour AND a movie tour. best of both worlds.

This was my second time to take the tour. I brought a friend as a gift for her birthday. The tour was as good as, if not better than, the first time I took it, as we had gorgeous weather which added to the beautiful scenery. It was a great birthday gift for my friend who absolutely loved it and can't wait to bring her husband. Doug was such a nice guy - entertaining and very informative. He chatted, but not incessantly, knowing just when to be quiet. Being able to see a scene from a movie on the screen in the bus and drive by where it was actually filmed was such fun. All in all, it was a great tour and a great way to spend the afternoon.
