Wonderful Day!
Fri, Feb 29, 08   1:00 PM lenalabosky Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I went on the tour just to be with my sister for the day, but in addition to having a wonderful day with my sister and her husband, I learned a lot about movies! I've never been much of a movie watcher, but I now have plans to watch as many as I can! There was a lot of movie history that I had known nothing about that I learned on this tour. Last but not least our tour guide was wonderful. It would not have been the same without him!!!

Fun way to spend an afternoon
Mon, Feb 25, 08   1:00 PM ghross2002 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The Movie tour was a fun way to spend a sunny mid-week afternoon. There were only a half dozen people on the tour and it was very pleasant. If the bus was very crowded it might not have been as much fun. The tour has lots of good information about movies made in the area and the video clips and site visits are very well coordinated. It was interesting to see how the buildings and landcape had -- and had not -- changed. Some of the movie clips were surprising and some were rare. All were good quality. There were three stops - the third one at Pebble Beach Lodge for 40 minutes. That was too long - a real waste of time, especially since it is a public place that anyone can come and visit at any time. The guide was a real Clint Eastwood fan and talked too much (for my taste) about Eastwood and what a great guy he is and how the locals just consider him a local, etc, etc, etc,.......... It was fun and worth the cost, but I am not sure I would want to do this on a warm to hot summer day, with a full bus, and a lot of traffic on the roads. But , maybe, I am spoiled as I can get there pretty easily.

Fun Filled Day

I didn't know what to expect for this trip, however we were pleasantly surprised. Doug was our tour guide. He shared knowledge of the Monterey, Carmel area with us in a fun and informative way. Seeing the movies while you saw the exact spot where they were filmed was a lot of fun. I have been going to Monterey and Carmel at least twice a year for many years. I learned little bits of triva and fun on this bus trip that I never knew. Great job Doug!

We had a wonderful tour and loved every minute of it. Doug was a fantastic tour director and was so friendly, and knowledgeable . He provided us with lots of details and background information about the movies and the various scenes we visited.. He was such an expert on everything. In addition to his delightful personality, he seemed genuinely interested in providing us with a memorable day. And it certainly was! He made our day! Thank you. I

A Movie Gold Mine - Monterey County

I have live in Monterey County for 30 plus years, and was never aware of the Movie Tour. I'm so glad my friends recommended that we take the tour. I knew movies had been made in Monterey county, but was shocked to find the number of movies as well as the different locations that Hollywood has used. I have two friends that are TRUE MOVIE BUFFS....I'm going to recommend that they take the tour.

My husband and I live in Monterey and had been on the tour before. This time we took my inlaws, 4 in total. They loved it. A great way to see the sights of the Monterey Peninsula and to learn some interesting movie history. Doug and his tour bus are great! Would highly recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike!

I enjoyed this tour as much as my friends from out of town did. The movie trivia was interesting and arriving at the sites was well-planned... and the weather was picture-perfect that day!

I had heard many wonderful comments about Monterey Movie Tours, and so when a family member came from out of state for a visit, I decided to book the two of us. We had an absolutely terrific time! The driver (who was also the owner) was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even took our picture! I didn't realize just how many movies were actually filmed on the Monterey Peninsula. My mother-in-law loved watching the movie clips and seeing all the various sights, especially the Lodge at Pebble Beach. The seats on the bus were very comfortable as well. I not only learned quite a bit of movie trivia, I learned some wonderful history of the area. I would definitely recommend Monterey Movie Tours!

Five Stars and Thumbs Up!

This is a must-see when you visit the Monterey Peninsula. Not only do you view some breathtaking scenery, but you learn a lot about the area that you would never find out on your own. Doug Lumsden, owner and operator, provides a wealth of information in his usual friendly, disarming way. Highlight: enjoy the view from the 18th green at Pebble Beach, up close and personal. Later, when you watch Tiger Woods walk the green on TV, you can say you were there. Doug, keep doing what you're doing. By the way, do you need any relief tour drivers?

We really enjoyed the tour of movie sites in Monterey and vicinity and the 17-mile drive around the peninsula. Our driver/tour guide, Doug, was very knowledgeable and interesting. We would certainly recommend this tour to friends. Joyce & Randy Stites, from Aurora, Colorado

A Must Do Tour. A++++

I would suggest everyone to sign up for this tour and to do it first in your trip. The tour guide was Awesome and very enthusiastic. He had a lot of knowledge about movies and the area. I wish I would of done this tour first because the tour guide gave us a lot of information about the area and which areas to visit. Make sure to sit on the right side of the bus because that side is oceanview. This tour is worth every penny and wish other cities had similar tours.

fun overview of the area

The Monterey Movie Tour is a fun and relaxing way to see and learn about the area. Although I've visted Monterey a few times, I didn't know much about Pebble Beach or the 17-mile-drive, and hadn't driven through either since it's hard to see the sights and drive at the same time! This tour gave me a chance to learn about the area from a great local guide, see everything without having to watch the road, and relate to it through some movies that I've seen and some that I now want to see.

Highlight of My Trip
Thu, Nov 1, 07   1:00 PM foxybooks Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Great to see all the movies filmed here as well as scenic highlights at the same time. I loved the stops at the lone cypress tree and Pebble Beach. Definitely worth the money and time spent. Our guide had perfect timing with the stops and movie scenes. I took down the list of movies mentioned and plan on watching them. Perhaps provide a list of the movies next time for the tour??
