We've been to Chicago at least a dozen times and have been to all the Museums (multiple times) and have taken several architectural tours but this was really something special, something unique. It was one of the most enjoyable things we've ever done since we first started visiting several years ago. We were surprised how easy it was to learn to drive and maneuver the Segway assigned to each of us. We aways felt safe and never worried about our abilitries to manage it properly. However, the thing that made it special was the docant - stopping and listening to the history he provided along the way made it more enjoyable than simply riding from here to there to someplace else. He pointed out things that we'll now go back to on our own and take and look at in a more appreciative way. Not to mention - we can't wait to try it again.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our recent Segway Tour. The weather was perfect and our docent extremely knowledgeable. Would love to do it again!

The whole experience was great. I took my 25 year old niece and she was more enthusiastic than me when describing the experience to friends. The Chicago Architecture docent was very knowledgable and interesting. Our safety guide from the Segway Tour company was an excellent teacher and everyone in our group learned to ride the Segway quickly. The group was small so we could ask questions, take pictures, and have fun. Highly recommend the tour.

Dave, (guide), and Jeff, (Segway instructor), were great. Dave gave just enough architecture information to make things interesting but not boring. The route was easy to navigate and you could look around and enjoy the city. Chicago is the perfect city for this type of tour because it's flat and the sidewalks and park paths are very generous. I could have toured all day. It was an excellent addition to our trip.

I really enjoyed the instruction for the Segway, but felt the tour disussion was off-mission. I Had my niece from out of town with me and I brought her because I thought there would be way more discussion about the architectural sights seen. Instead it was more about city politics and how this big city gets things done--not unlike any other big city. I think it was too much about more about that and not enough about Burnham and his plan, and how the architecture contributed to it--or not. The Segway person Derrick was very friendly and helpful and went above and byond. Our docent was very friendly, but should have stuck to architecture an the legacy of the parks, not so much on politics, especially since our group was partly from out of town. Having said all of this would definitely take the tour again.

You couldn't have asked for a better day to have the tour. I thought it was great that there was a practice area where a couple groups could get oriented with the segways. Because of the Taste, there was some disorganization as to where we could and couldn't go. The museum campus was nice, but it was too bad we couldn't go any more north of Jackson. The architecture guide, Stan, was knowledgeable on the buildings. He didn't talk much about any of the other buildings outside of michigan avenue or east randolph which was fine, but Chicago has so much more architecture to offer than just that. We made it down early, but there was no Walgreens nearby that we could find. One suggestion... I was surprised when the guide said he didn't have any sunscreen in his first-aid kit.

It was like riding my bike after the training wheels were off. I always wanted to do this and Ryan, our guide, made it very enjoyable and safe. It was a beautiful day and I could have gone on longer. The Segways are really amazing on how well they respond to your subtle weight shift. I highly recommend it.

The only way to see the tourist sites in Chicago. Knowledgeable tour guide and you get value for your dollar. Recommended.

Having previously seen people zipping about on Segways in various places, I looked forward to having this experience personally and was not disappointed. The orientation doesn't take much time athough to really feel completely at ease whilst driving your Segway not as part of a group with support staff along with you, would probably take a bit longer. But it's worth it in all respects! Lots of fun and a very different and pleasant way to see some of the great improvements in Chicago's parks. Take the plunge and sign up--it's a great 2 1/2 hours and the Segway staff is very supportive and helpful.
