| Since their was no time to take vacation this summer, we were looking for something
local that would be unique and fun for our entire family. Saw a newspaper article
about Segway tours in Chicago - that was an activity we had never tried before.
So with a lillte apprehension as an old fogie, we bought tickets on line. Took the
family on Columbus Day and headed for a Segway Tour of the Grant Park area.
We were given instruction and pratice time on how to ride the two wheel unit. Our
children ages 15, 17, 26, 29 got the hang of it quickly. My wife and I who are 60
picked it up just as fast as them. Within fifiteen minutes, fear gone and you can
handle the vehicle with enough proficiency to enjoy the ride and the tour. The tour
took us around all the lake front museums and past some of Chicago's great
architecture. The guide was knowledgeable and there we stops along the way
to enjoy the views of the city of Chicago. I thought it was an awesome experience.
It was a worthwhile 2 1/2 hour experience that most anyone could enjoy. It was
a "memory" that our whole family can look back on and enjoy together.
It was a great time on a fun machine to ride. We all would do it again in a heartbeat. You gotta try it! |

| The tour was just the right length. The docent was interesting and likeable. The segway vehicles were easy to learn to ride and allowed us to cover more ground than walking. Overall it was an extremely satisfying activity and I wouldn't hesistate to do it again for an additional architectural tour in a different part of the city. |

| I really enjoyed the instruction for the Segway, but felt the tour disussion was off-mission. I Had my niece from out of town with me and I brought her because I thought there would be way more discussion about the architectural sights seen. Instead it was more about city politics and how this big city gets things done--not unlike any other big city. I think it was too much about more about that and not enough about Burnham and his plan, and how the architecture contributed to it--or not.
The Segway person Derrick was very friendly and helpful and went above and byond. Our docent was very friendly, but should have stuck to architecture an the legacy of the parks, not so much on politics, especially since our group was partly from out of town.
Having said all of this would definitely take the tour again. |

| As a life long resident of Chicago I saw the City in a different way that was very informative to even me. The guide was very well versed in the history of the City and answered all of the questions from the group.
One member of my group did experience some problems with the Segway that they were given for the tour which kept turning off. This caused her to have to walk for part of the tour until a new unit could be brought out for her to use (about 20 minutes or so). This was very inconvenient for her and, I am sure, the rest of the tour which had to slow down to accomodate a walker. This was very unfortunate as the rest of the tour was excellent.
I would like to see other tours added that would encompass other parts of the City. I think that would be a terrific addition to this tour of the Fountain, Soldier Field and the Museum Campus. |

| It was a great experience to ride the Segway. The staff took time to instruct us using the vehicles. The ride was leasurly spaced & enjoyable. As far as the architecture part was concerned, the buildings were far in a distance from our ride in Grant park. For "up, close, and personal" building tours you must take a walking tour. |

| The web site told me to be there one half hour before the tour for training. This isn't true. It is to complete 5 min of paper work. In addition, I waited while a different tour had vehicles asssigned to them and left. We didn't leave the offfice until 15 min after the tour was scheduled to leave (45 min after I got there).
To the owner: don't schedule both tours to start at the same time. You don't have the space to accommodate this large a group nor do you have the organization. Really slow start while worker figure out which vehicle to use and them get then unplugged and lined up. This could have all been done before the scheduled tour time!!!! |

| My long time dream of trying a Segway was realized and lived up to every expectation. Our docent was not only knowledgeble, as expected, but had a great sense of humor and knew we really wanted to focus on the Segways. The tour taught a lot about Chicago's history along with architecture. The Segway Tour is a fabulous wedding of an innovative transport system and enjoying the Architectural Foudnation's excellent information delivery system. |

| Our guide was knowledgable and entertaining. The staff gave us clear instructions and were very safety conscious. There were some problems with battery memory but staff members kept their senses of humor. |
