Ed (tour guide) and Mike (working the counter) were both very personable and professional. My wife and I hadn't used a Segway before our tour and wouldn't take another tour in Chicago (at least on a weekend). Evidently the Segway's are supposed to stay off the bike paths, but with the volume of walkers and runners along the lake, it was far too congested for Segway novices, the lake was way too close as well. The return trip was primarily on sidewalks which were also congested and not to mention the number of ramps and inclines on this tour, I lost track of the number of streets we crossed with each one seemed to bring new challenges with the crowds. The first time we relaxed on the tour was when it was over. I would not recommend this tour for a first time Segway user, we were thankful to be on the first tour of the day, I can not imagine how crowded Navy Pier was later in the day.

This was one of the funnest tours we have ever been on. We learned a lot and enjoyed riding the Segways at the same time. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Our family is not overly active outdoors, but the idea of "scootering" around the city without walking was certainly a desire and temptation. We used these reviews as our basis for deciding to try the Segway experience at Navy Pier. Our instructor had us all feeling comfortable with the Segways in about 10 min, and by the end of the excursion, we were all zipping along like experts. We saw parts of Chicago that a tourist would never see. A very fun activity and one the family will remember for a long time!

The trip was good the tour guide was good. the only thing is that the two works asked for tips. twice and i do understand that they are to required but they should really not ask me to times. if they did a good trip then they shouldn't have to ask for them. Thank you

This tour was a ton of fun. My wife and I took the tour basically to ride the segway. It was easy to learn and fun to ride. Our guide was a really nice guy and we all had a good time.

Suggestions ...

I e-mailed my concerns and vocalized them as well (apprehensive) and was assured this was a safe and fun activity. Our guide (Ed) was fabulous in training as well as his tour of Chicago. However, before our trip I asked Ed what would happen if "someone" was slower than the rest of the group. He said that anyone who felt nervous should go to the front of the group. My friend and I began in that position, but were quickly passed by a family with a young child that verbalized they "wanted speed." Near the end of the tour, we went down a steep ramp under Lake Shore Drive. At that point, I was at the end of the group and had an accident. I am not blaming Ed, who was very compassionate and helpful, but I had previously made it clear that I was not comfortable (especially going down ramps). I would book another Segway tour (WITHOUT RAMPS/HILLS) but I would suggest that your guides/booking agent should listen to the concerns (written and oral) of their participants.

As our kids (grown with kids) ease my wife and I into the new millennium, with iPods and the like, I find it refreshing to be able to boast to them of something that is definitely new tech that they know nothing of. The entire experience was great and as our guide took pictures of us with our camera, he kept saying smile; no problem as it turned out that I had a smile on my face for the full 2 hours.

My husband & I joined two of our close friends for a day in the city. We're from Buffalo Grove and we wanted to have a day in Chicago just like tourists! I was fairly nervous that I would be the one that wouldn't be able to navigate on the Segway as I'm known to be somewhat clumsy! After about 10-15 minutes of instruction from 2 very patient guides - Sara and Derek; I mastered the Segway much to my surprise! We all had such a fabulous time seeing the city from such a different perspective. Derek made it interesting and fun - we didn't want it to end! I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was easy!!! If we had tried to cover the same area on foot; it would have easily taken 4 hours instead of 2. What a fun way to experience Chicago!!! Thanks for the memories!
