Navy Pier Segway Tour

Was disappointed that the information given when I booked this tour said we should arrive 30 minutes earlier than scheduled activity was to start for training video and equipment fitting. We arrived at said time and no one was there. About 5 minutes later a guy arrived, didn't introduce himself only said it'd take a while for him to get set up and to have a seat. He was right as it was almost an hour before we got started. Then there was no "training video" only the guide telling us the "dos and don'ts." There is not much input from the guide during this tour but a lot of time getting to ride the segway. We have taken a segway tour from another company before and the guide gave much more information about Chicago, its history, and the sights. I guess it depends on what you want from the tour.

What a great venue to be able to see the city from. Of course our group was having so much fun zooming around on the Segway's, I think if not for our trusted guide, we would of forgotten to "look up". Our guide was very knowledgable and also afforded us the opportunity to go at our own pace. For what you get, the price is very reasonable. We plan on doing another Segway tour soon. This is another one of those activities that you can bring a group of friends along to and have a blast at...like we did. :-)

From the beginning to the very end we loved it. My kids(21,19 and 17) didn't even mind the flourescent safety vest we had to wear. They thought it was funny!. Being on the segway was just such a great feeling. We're now going to do it in any city we're in that offers a tour. It was a great way to see alot of Chicago at once. Tim, our guide was terrific and kind of let us guide him as to how much or how liittle info we wanted. One of the best things we did while in Chicago!

The Segway was easy and quick to learn. It practically wants to stand straight up by it self. With five minutes of practice you're ready to go. In another ten minutes you are pratically a pro. The machine is amazing. The tour along the lake front from Navy Pier to North Beach and on into Streeterville offered a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, the city, Lincoln Park, and the neighborhood of the North side. Our guide was able to supply use with historical information about various parks, statues, buildings of Chicago, homes such as the McCormic mansion, and the city. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour and would do it again.

Within minutes, you'll feel as if you've been riding a Segway all your life.

As our kids (grown with kids) ease my wife and I into the new millennium, with iPods and the like, I find it refreshing to be able to boast to them of something that is definitely new tech that they know nothing of. The entire experience was great and as our guide took pictures of us with our camera, he kept saying smile; no problem as it turned out that I had a smile on my face for the full 2 hours.

My husband & I joined two of our close friends for a day in the city. We're from Buffalo Grove and we wanted to have a day in Chicago just like tourists! I was fairly nervous that I would be the one that wouldn't be able to navigate on the Segway as I'm known to be somewhat clumsy! After about 10-15 minutes of instruction from 2 very patient guides - Sara and Derek; I mastered the Segway much to my surprise! We all had such a fabulous time seeing the city from such a different perspective. Derek made it interesting and fun - we didn't want it to end! I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was easy!!! If we had tried to cover the same area on foot; it would have easily taken 4 hours instead of 2. What a fun way to experience Chicago!!! Thanks for the memories!

I had been wanting to do a Segway tour somewhere for quite a while. Timing worked out that I could do it in Chicago. It was a good choice - Derek (the tour guide) is knowledgeable, fun, thoughtful, and attentive. He showed us the things we expected, and a few we didn't (that's good :) ). The equipment was in good shape, the service was excellent, and the whole experience was a pleasure.

Mike was our segway tour guide and he did a terrific job of teaching us how to operate and enjoy our segways. The tour of Lincoln Park, the zoo, Gold Coast and Lake Shore Drive was wonderful, we saw parts of Chicago not often visited. I would like more information about the architecture and history of chicago but he did a nice job of keeping us entertained. I have recommended this to other friends!
