Great experience

A lot of elements made this a very enjoyable experience. The Segways were easy to learn, despite the mild fears some of us had. Our guide was informative, attentive and interesting. The Chicago lakefront scenery, of course, is spectacular. The tour was just the right lenght for the first time. Every person in the group had fun. In all, we had a blast. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Perfect day with a great outdoor activity

I didn't know what to expect with this unusual transportation vehicle, but wanted to try it at least once in my life. I wasn't sure I could get the hang of riding it. But, after 10 minutes of trying it, I was hooked on the thrill of the ride. The guide, Matt, was very informative and attentive to questions and made the whole lesson very easy. I only regret we couldn't have gone further and explored more parks and trails. The afternoon was perfect temperature, in the low seventies, and the ride felt comfortable with our light jackets and helmets. We rode at a speed of about 6 to 10 miles per hour. I'll be back to try it again in the spring when everything is in bloom.

Matt showed us a great tour and had some great information on Chicago, its buildings, and history. The segways could use a little of repairs/upgrades.

Short tour

Tour was unorganized, unprepared, and too large. Program did not start on time. It was a half hour before we were out of the facility and outside with the segways. Once outside, we spent another half hour reviewing what the video showed. Our tour guide told us that she would not be talking that much because she had to save her voice. Then what is the point of having a tour guide or a tour. Some of the segways dragged to the left, and had to resteer to keep straight. Also, some of the tires did not have enough air in them. One person on our tour had her battery die, and I did not see her for the rest of the tour. There are other segway tours that I have been on that were much better organized, had smaller groups or with large groups had more guides, went further, with three hours for the same price and had great tour guides. I would not recommend this tour group to any of my friends.

Segway tour - Chicago Parks

Both tour guides for the morning did not show up for work. Another person in the office had to take us out. The group was very large (16) vs usualy 8. 3 people had falls, no one got hurt, but the group leader did not know about 2 of the falls because she was too far ahead.

Great Tour!

My daughter who is from NYC and I who works locally in Chicago did this tour this August. Learning to handle the Segway was a breeze. Each one only needed about 5 minutes and we were off to do the Lakefront tour. We had already visited the tour spots earlier during the week but we were looking forward to the Segway experience while again looking at the same sites. It's a totally different feeling when you're on a Segway. You feel like you're on top of the world. People also can't help but look at you as you proudly move through the various sites. The tour leader was very affable. He gave historical background on the various sites that we visited although I wish that he gave a lttle bit more of the unique tidbits for each of the sites instead of just the plain textbook info. My only gripe is that the tour was pricier for the 2 hour tour as compared to 5$ less for the competitor for 3 hours. We also had the later model Segways with the handgrip navigation instead of the newer models where you tilt the handlebar sideways to turn left or right. In any case, this is still worth the money for a first timer.

My husband and I took our two grandsons who are thirteen and twelve, and we all loved it. The Segways are easy to ride . . . .intuitive and very quick to master. Our guide, Matt, was terrific. . . . very informative and patient . We found the whole experience fun and one we will definitely repeat.. Our grandsons told us it was their favorite day of the summer.

great fun but needed a more mature tour guide

The adventure was great fun - on all levels and I would recommend it to all. However our guide Andy was a mixture of fun, information, adventure and immaturity. He gave a great tour and took us places that were different & asked us what we wanted - this was terrific. but when he spent considerable time showing off how he could ride his segway sitting down or backward, but didn't explain to me how to stop quickly when he clearly had the skill himself...it just felt like showing off. He was really wonderful and engaging and then would do something on his segway that I would expect from a teen skate boarder. He stressed over and over that we all should leave 12" inches on either side of us at all times. Makes perfect safety sense. But then when he took us through Millennium Park sidewalks filled with people where it was impossible to keep even a few inches on either side of us - this was thoughtless. When he made a quick left turn on the side walk and my partner tried to follow him but there was no room on either side of her to do so and this resulted in her falling off her segway - this was both thoughtless and unsafe. His manner was charming- his intentions were clearly to give us all a good time - but his immaturity or need to show off got the better of him. We would do this again but with a different guide

Beautiful Summer Day in the Windy City

My husband and I went on tour after hearing in-laws rave about it. There was a big group going out on tour, so it was split in half, with each group getting a guide. I was very nervous prior to stepping onto Segway, but after a few minutes my mind was at ease, so I could enjoy the beautiful sunny breezy Chicago afternoon. We went down to the lakefront, rode outside Soldier Field, Buckingham Fountain, and Grant Park to name a few. We stopped a couple of times in case anyone wanted to take pictures or just take a break. The tour guides went through a thorough orientation with us prior, watching a movie on Segways and once we went out, we were watched for a couple of minutes to make sure we caught on to the "experience." I would recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys the outdoors, and wants to do a little sightseeing at the same time.
