| I recommend that everyone, including locals, experience a Segway tour. It's worth it alone to be able to use this technology. It's truely amazing that this equipment works so intuitively. I was a little nervous at first, but quickly caught on.
Even though I've lived here for five years, touring on the Segway allowed me to see parts of the city that I was always too tired to walk to. It's great for all ages. |

| We arrived late (didn't read instructions and got there at 1:30 rather than 1:00. Tour people couldn't have been nicer, offered to catch us up! After a quick instruction we felt comfortable riding our new best legs. Within less than 20 minutes we were on our segways. Tour operators were great, informative and just fun to be with. They were relaxed and allowed us to go in a group rather than single file when it was appropriate which made it nice to be able to talk with our friends.
Righly recommend. Would definitely go again. One of the best tours you could take friends visiting Chicago ... people that live here would thoroughly enjoy it too. |

| After returning to Michigan from Chicago I often felt like I want to ride Segway again - to a store, to get from a place to pleace, or just for fun. I enjoyed our tour guide, Omar - he has my deep gratitude for a nice tour. If was fun and educational. He was understanding and responcible and found the time to pay attention to every single participant of you tuor - both kids and adults. |

| One of my goals this summer was to ride a segway. When it came time to learn how to use it, I was nervous about not being able to learn it quickly enough. I was also worried that it would be like a scary amusement park ride that I would be glad I did it but happy when it was over. Fortunately, neither was true!
Our guide took us to an area to practice our maneuvers. I was having a little difficulty with the steering and I felt like it was veering without me doing much to it. I mentioned it to him and took my hand off the steering and it still veered. I was so happy that he didn't just tell me it takes practice or belittle my concerns. He switched segways with me and then he had more problems with that one and had another brought over to him from the store. He earned my respect fast!
I also feel that we practiced just the right amount of time for everyone to feel comfortable. I think it would be a good idea to have a group with the same level of adventure or similar age group on a tour. I don't know if the one kid in our group was impatient with us, but most of our group was probably 35- 50 and we seemed to be pretty cohesive.
Being from the suburbs, I really enjoyed hearing the history of some of the sites we went past. It was a beautiful day so the view of the lakefront and the parks was spectacular. I was also amazed that a lot of the time, I didn't even have to think about what I was doing. By the end of the tour, I was surprised that I felt so confident about maneuvering around people walking. I did not have any problems with cracks in the sidewalks or bumps. To be honest, my calf muscles were sore the next day but it was well worth it! I think 2 hours is the right amount of time for the first time. My pictures are great!
I loved having so many people point at us and tell their friends to look at us or that they wanted to do it too. I am telling friends how much fun it was and would like to do it again! |

| Our tour leader, Skip, was very knowledgeable, interesting, and funny. He made the tour fun. The segway was easy to handle. I can't wait to try it again. The two hours flew by and we were sad when it ended. |

| Segway Experience of Chicago is the second of two segway tours I have taken (the other was City Segway Tours) and the other was far better - mainly because the machines were the newer models that are a million times easier and more pleasant to ride. Segway Experience of Chicago had an older model that turned from a hand lever instead of with your weight. It made for jerky awkward turning that felt more dangerous than the other place's.
Both tours had almost no information about Chicago. Segway Experience's guide made some effort to pretend that this was a city tour, whereas the other guide gave up on the charade pretty quickly. But the trade-off for maybe two extra tidbits of information was that the Segway Experience guide was also much more uptight about letting us actually ride more than 10 yards away from him.
Until they get some new machines, go for the other place. |

| On the morning of my daughter's wedding, I scheduled a Segway tour for eight:
all out-of-town guests for the wedding.
We needed to change our Segway tour time and Amanda, the office manager, was extremely helpful in following through on our request. She made it possible for us to start the tour early so we could attend the groomsmen's lunch.
There had been some concern (from the wives) that someone might have an accident or be injured on the day of the wedding. I had inquired about the accident rate and been told that it was not an issue.
And it clearly wasn't. The group, ranging in age from 24 to 64, took about a minute to get the hang of it. It was great! Very intuitive and very easy to handle. Within moments, we were all rocking back and forth in place (great fun and a nice way to "feel" your relationship with the Segway) and then heading out and chatting easily as we toured the lakefront.
Our guides were great, too: both very personable and just fun to be with. Jeff's commentary was always interesting and insightful. Mike was helpful, too, offering to take pictures and, in general, looking after our group.
We covered Buckingham Fountain, the Museum Campus, Soldier Field, Millenium Park, the Bean and the Chicago Faces Fountain. The tour was over much too quickly. We could have gone another couple hours easily. But we had a full days' events to get to!
Everyone agreed that the Segway tour was one of the highlights of the weekend and we all said that we would look forward to taking Segway Tours in other cities.
But I'm definitely heading for the Chicago Segway Tour the next time I've got out-of-town guests in. The fun factor is off the charts! |

| Seriously fun. We did the southside tour (museum park) and now plan to do the northside one.
Everything happened just like they said it would - got familiar with the Segway while doing the warm-up at the beginning of the event- and it was so much fun for the entire time. |
