The tour was terrific and riding the Segway was awesome. Katie did an excellent job of leading us around and filling us in with local history and lore.

A lot of elements made this a very enjoyable experience. The Segways were easy to learn, despite the mild fears some of us had. Our guide was informative, attentive and interesting. The Chicago lakefront scenery, of course, is spectacular. The tour was just the right lenght for the first time. Every person in the group had fun. In all, we had a blast. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I didn't know what to expect with this unusual transportation vehicle, but wanted to try it at least once in my life. I wasn't sure I could get the hang of riding it. But, after 10 minutes of trying it, I was hooked on the thrill of the ride. The guide, Matt, was very informative and attentive to questions and made the whole lesson very easy. I only regret we couldn't have gone further and explored more parks and trails. The afternoon was perfect temperature, in the low seventies, and the ride felt comfortable with our light jackets and helmets. We rode at a speed of about 6 to 10 miles per hour. I'll be back to try it again in the spring when everything is in bloom.

Matt was our tourguide and he was super cool. Taught us how to use the segway and was very informative. Even though it was pouring rain, we had a great time. I highly reccomend this to anyone wanting to see the sites of Chi-town.

Matt showed us a great tour and had some great information on Chicago, its buildings, and history. The segways could use a little of repairs/upgrades.

Fun experience, beautiful day in downtown Chicago. Guides were entertaining and informative with lots of trivia about landmarks. We live about 100 miles from Chicago and have told friends and co-workers about how much fun our family had, I know of several people who are going to come and try the Segway Experience! We highly recomend!

Tour was unorganized, unprepared, and too large. Program did not start on time. It was a half hour before we were out of the facility and outside with the segways. Once outside, we spent another half hour reviewing what the video showed. Our tour guide told us that she would not be talking that much because she had to save her voice. Then what is the point of having a tour guide or a tour. Some of the segways dragged to the left, and had to resteer to keep straight. Also, some of the tires did not have enough air in them. One person on our tour had her battery die, and I did not see her for the rest of the tour. There are other segway tours that I have been on that were much better organized, had smaller groups or with large groups had more guides, went further, with three hours for the same price and had great tour guides. I would not recommend this tour group to any of my friends.

Both tour guides for the morning did not show up for work. Another person in the office had to take us out. The group was very large (16) vs usualy 8. 3 people had falls, no one got hurt, but the group leader did not know about 2 of the falls because she was too far ahead.

| My daughter who is from NYC and I who works locally in Chicago did this tour this August. Learning to handle the Segway was a breeze. Each one only needed about 5 minutes and we were off to do the Lakefront tour. We had already visited the tour spots earlier during the week but we were looking forward to the Segway experience while again looking at the same sites. It's a totally different feeling when you're on a Segway. You feel like you're on top of the world. People also can't help but look at you as you proudly move through the various sites.
The tour leader was very affable. He gave historical background on the various sites that we visited although I wish that he gave a lttle bit more of the unique tidbits for each of the sites instead of just the plain textbook info.
My only gripe is that the tour was pricier for the 2 hour tour as compared to 5$ less for the competitor for 3 hours. We also had the later model Segways with the handgrip navigation instead of the newer models where you tilt the handlebar sideways to turn left or right.
In any case, this is still worth the money for a first timer. |
