Park Glide - 21 Apr

My interest was more in riding a Segway for the first time, but the Park Glide turned out to be a hoot! Jennifer gave us a 30-minute training -- very clear and personal -- and since we were all learning, the group soon got chummy. Jenny set just the right tone -- fun, safe, knowledgeable.

Scary for one of our members but lots of fun for the test of it. Not much info on the tour but segwaying around was a lot of fun.

Awesome

We had a great time, especially when I stole a little kid's hat and got chased by the cops. Luckily I had the orange key so my segway was able to elude the five-o at 12 miles an hour. It was a little scary playing chicken in the middle of Michigan avenue with a cab driver but luckily he turned at the last second and smashed into a fire hydraunt. I also didn't realize that you could give someone a shoulder ride while tooling around on the segway. I was certain the two people on one machine would be too much weight for the machine but alas, I was wrong. The absolute best moment on the segway was when I mooned the parade crowds right before we handed in our segways. Our guide for the day was Michelle and she was very professional, friendly, and fun. I will probably rent a segway again the next time I visit Chicago. Jason Sporbert

We had a great time on the Chicago Segway tour. The guides were both fun and informative, and doing the trip on a Segway was awesome. We'll definitely be doing so again next time we're in Chicago.

WAY BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS...WONDERFUL!!!

I love to do new things and when I heard about the Segway tour I knew my wife and I had to do it. I'm the adventurer and my wife is the reluctant follower; she was, to say the least, skeptical. By the time we completed our tour, with our group leader David, she was going on about how we could present the tour to our adult children as gifts and, she was grinning from ear-to-ear! She loved it and so did I. We recommend it as a "MUST DO" when visiting Chicago. Special kudos to David...he was fantastic!!

Tour started 1 hour late - fun ride, weak guide

We were instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the tour start time of 11:00 am. When we got there at 10:25 the door was locked and two employees were waiting outside but no one had a key. We were told that the person wityh the key would be along in about fifteen minutes. Almost an hour later he showed, and we started our training, then eventually the tour. Now, consider the fact that out tickets were non-refundable and could not be rescheduled. Top it off with a big fat hold harmless disclaimer and an agreement, secured by my credit card, that said if anything was broken I would pay the replacement price - including the cost of the entire Segway ($3,500 +). These are pretty high standards and requirements to hold the buyer to considering the guy with the key couldn't even show up on time. Riding the Segway was fun and the route we took pretty good. Staff were polite and extremely friendly. Guide was ok - didn't have much in the way of accurate and detailed facts, history, etc but put in alot of effort. We didn't much care though because all we wanted to do was ride the things. The Segway ride was fun, easy to do, and worth a try. J, Chicago, IL, USA

Great tour and professional staff

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found it very enjoyable. Our tour guide Jenny and Docent Joyce were very informative, professional and helpful. We were pleased with the pre trip set up and instruction. From the time we entered to check in to the end of our tour it was a very positive experience. We felt the tour was a great balance of "ride time" and information and learned a lot about the fascinating history of Chicago. As we had our 13 and 16 year old children on the tour with us they found it a great experience. As a consequence we would definitely plan to do it again either in Chicago or another city where the tours are available.

A Great Way to See the Chicago Lakefront and Sites
Fri, Sep 15, 06   4:00 PM hoadleyr Male 50-59 Combination Family Without Children
Not only is this a great way to see the sites but riding the Segway is a blast. The tour begins with a short orientation and practice on the Segway which takes just a short time to be comfortable with. Once everyone has at least the basic skills you get to ride the laskefront with expert guidance from the tour leader who takes you to each location and stops for a brief overview and history. We visited: Buckingham Fountain; The Museum Campus (Aquarium; Planetarium; Field Museum); Monroe Harbour; Millenium Park/Grant Park. The Segway lets you cover more ground than you could walking while having fun learning to handle the machine. Highly recommended!
