This was a great experience and would highly recomend them to anyone. Next time we're in Chicago we'll go back and take another tour.

Not worth it

At $75 apiece, this activity cost $300 for my family. We had a terrific time, spending time together and talking on a gorgeous afternoon. That didn't have much to do with the Segway tour, though. The tour guide was nice enough, but he knew lots more about the Segway than about Chicago. So the "tour" was really just a series of standing in front of fountains and whatnot and giving cute, but rehearsed bits of trivia. A plus: you cover plenty of ground, and get some nice views at some spots. The Segway itself is a weird machine. Steering it isn't intuitive; most of our group had trouble getting the hang of it. (Left/right is a handlebar ring that felt like a motorcycle throttle.) It's less comfortable than it looks, mainly because you can't shift your feet around the way you normally would just standing around, so your feet go to sleep. Generally, it seems pretty safe. On the other hand, it would be very easy to crash one of these, and the guide (and the liability waivers we had to sign beforehand) made it clear that crashing one would cost us $5,000. Bottom line: it ain't worth the money. Try the Architectural Boat Tour instead, or one of the great tours run out of the Chicago History Museum. Or, if you want some beautiful views, borrow a bike and go tool around on that!

We did a 10 a.m. park park glide tour on a Saturday. What a way to see the parks! Andrew, our tour guide was great and riding the Segway was a blast. Instruction was superb and the group size was manageable. Highly recommend - worth every penny.

This was so much fun. It's way easier than we expected. Our guide, Omar, was very patient with everyone. At $75 for one and a half hours (+30 minutes of training), it's kind of expensive, but save up for it, because it is worth it.

Taking the Segway tour was a blast. My 23 year old daughter and I went and although she was a bit apprehensive, it didn't take long until she was right in the front with our guide. I had done it before in another city, but the tour in Chicago was great!

Spoiled at Disneyland

We were trained to ride a Segway at Disneyland. Therefore, we were experianced. I felt the first time rider in our group needed more on board training. The 1st generation equipment felt antiquated. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

Highlight of our summer!

Now that we have done this in our hometown we will do this when visiting other cities. We had out of town guests in from California it was a great introduction to Chicago and then they were able to visualize where else they wanted to go. My kids (16, 18 & 20) want to do the other tour from Navy Pier now. Best part was riding the Segway. We were there 30 minutes ahead of time everyone used the restroom and we started early because the taste was going on and it was very crowded in the streets. Tour guide was fabulous & fun. Recommended for all ages (our group was 16 to 50) everyone had a great time, bring a camera!

I am from Chicago, my husband had never been to Chicago and we booked a trip so I could show him my hometown. We signed up for several tours around the city so he could see as much as possible in 2 and 1/2 days. We took this tour and it was the best tour we took. Our tour guide was Laura and she was great. She took her time to show us how to use the Segway and made sure we were comfortable on them. Her knowledge of the city and the sights was great. She answered every question we had. You could tell she truly enjoys her job. The Segways took a bit of getting used to, I had never been on anything like it before, but I will certainly ride them again! Thank you so much for a great Chicago experience!
