It was AWESOME!!!

The guide put us at ease during the orientation- that was a big fear at first that we would wipe-out and hurt ourselves. The area we toured was really nice and he gave some good information on the city of Chicago that we didn't know. The length of the tour was "just right"- we did the 5pm tour and got to see the city at night. The lights of the city were amazing. We felt like celebrities, people were taking our picture and staring at us. Since our tour, I've been telling everyone about it and they should do it if they have the time. The article on MSN about segway- is dead wrong- it is still one thing that people should try!

If the weather is good, then this is a must do activity. We had great weather and a wonderful view of Chicago. Although I have been there many times this was a super way to get a different angle on the city.

Great weather, an enthistiastic guide, and fun toys. As others have noted, it takes 15-30 minutes to get acclimated to the Segways, but once you do, they feel like a natural extension of your body. Definitely a great way to see a lot of Chicago quickly at ground level.

The Segways are easy to use but you do need some time to master turns and speed. The first part of the tour was across busy intersections and down narrow sidewalks next to busy arterials, with obstacles to maneuver around. One person almost fell off a high curb and into the street, and another almost fell while rolling down a curb cut into a cross walk and bumped into me. Both were close calls and could have resulted in bumps and bruises at a minimum. I'd suggest keeping a good distance between you and the other Segway and between you and the street. After the first half of the tour, everyone had mastered the handling of the Segways.

Our tour leader, Skip, was very knowledgeable, interesting, and funny. He made the tour fun. The segway was easy to handle. I can't wait to try it again. The two hours flew by and we were sad when it ended.

Our tour guide was great and riding the segways was a blast. We got to see parts of the city that would be difficult to travel to on foot. We would do it again!

This was really a wonderful tour! I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for making our trip so special. Our tour guide was really great too. I am blanking out on his name, but he's a college student from Detroit originally...just been doing the tours solo for a couple of weeks. He was funny but informative. -The Buck Family

An older gentleman with us became light headed and dizzy. It was a hot day. He said that he really needed to sit down for awhile and he did immediately sit right down on the sidewalk. He looked pale. We all gathered around. My husband offered to sit with him while the rest of us continued on for a few more minutes. Then our entire group went back to that spot. He was feeling much better and was able to finish the tour. But there were a few minutes of uncertainty when it seemed that some 'tourists' would be feeling they did not get their money's worth and yet no one wanted to leave the man whose life might be threatened. Just perhaps there should be a way to call out back-up. My husband had a cell phone and would have called 911 if things got worse. The man said that he had had a heart attack before so he know warning signs. Just a scenario to study.

Not for me....

The segway experience was not my cup of tea. I enjoyed the tour, however; the actual segway machine was something I could not master in the short time I was on the machine. I feel the company needs to give people more practice time on the machine before putting them in the busy streets of Chicago. Going up hills and stopping was not an easy task for this rider. Next time, I'll stick to walking....
