Had a BLAST

Our Segueway trip was one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago. It is fun for all ages and skill levels. If you can stand up, you can learn to ride one of these! The rider education was thorough and even the younger riders had no trouble throughout the ride. Our leader Ed was a helpful and amusing tour guide. Cruising down the lake front and through the park...you just can't beat it. Our only regret was it was not a longer tour. They should open up a branch up by the zoo as well.

Fun and friendly

Though it was a bit on the pricey side for us, we are happy that we decided to take this tour. The directions to get there were easy to follow, the people were friendly and the tour and the guide were highly enjoyable. The training was thorough and we felt confident on the Segway, the guide was amusing and informative, and the tour was terrific. We definitely recommend this company for anyone wanting to cruise around the area in a fun and different way. Fantastic and completely satisfactory experience!

Segway riding is really fun!

My husband and I really enjoyed the Segway tour! It was really fun learning to ride a Segway. We had about a half-hour of training to ride the Segway and then we went on the tour of Chicago. The best part of the tour was riding the Segway because I am somewhat familiar with Chicago's landmarks, but our tour guide had good information about the sights that we saw, and I learned some new things as well. The only down side to our tour experience was that there was one person in our group who was less comfortable than the rest of the group riding a Segway, and I think that slowed us down a bit. Based on that experience, it would be nice if they offered the option of a longer tour for people who are comfortable on Segways, or take to it quickly (an additional fee would be OK).

Great time had by all!

It was awesome - very fun activity for teenagers with their parents. It's hard to find things that appeal to teenagers, esp. boys and this was a perfect thing to do with our 14 year old son. Easy to learn and fun to do!

Not a Computer or Video Game but Still Way Fun!!!

It's not easy dragging two 13 year-old boys away from video games and computers on the weekend in search of something entertaining and exciting: my son rolled his eyes when I suggested this tour and tried to worm out of going! But when I brought a friend of his along, suddenly it seemed "cool" and by the first 15 minutes, both of them were incredibly enthusiastic and would gladly do it again. Of course, I had secretly wanted to try it myself, and loved every moment...

Great experience but leave wallet at home.

About the wallet recommendation: it's so you don't buy a Segway on your way out. This was a terrific birthday gift, as 1: we were visiting Chicago, 2: had always lusted after Segways but never ridden them, and 3: it lived up to our expectations. Great tour guide with decent basic knowledge of the area (there's a reason for hiring theatre majors) and good teaching skills. No video to watch, just a quick lesson and off. The group was comprised of ind'ls from 30-60, and all became quickly adept at riding and maneuvering these intuitive machines. Our round-trip included the Grant Park area from the Art Institute to the Shedd and along the lake. My only disappointment was not being allowed into Millenium Park, which I had expected. But that's easily overcome with a short post-Segway walk. I've recommended this to several Chicago residents. I'll do it again when I return.

Wonderful Experience

I am not very coordinated and was concerned that I would not get the hang of the Segway. Robert our guide was very patient and excellent in explaining how the Segway worked. It rained for part of our tour but they had ponchos available to buy. They took us sightseeing and were always watching our group to make sure everyone was at ease on their Segway. Robert was most informative on the history of the places we went. I can not recommend this experience enough, I had a wonderful time and would do it again in a heart beat.

Excellent tour - definitely worth it - feel cool!

One of my goals this summer was to ride a segway. When it came time to learn how to use it, I was nervous about not being able to learn it quickly enough. I was also worried that it would be like a scary amusement park ride that I would be glad I did it but happy when it was over. Fortunately, neither was true! Our guide took us to an area to practice our maneuvers. I was having a little difficulty with the steering and I felt like it was veering without me doing much to it. I mentioned it to him and took my hand off the steering and it still veered. I was so happy that he didn't just tell me it takes practice or belittle my concerns. He switched segways with me and then he had more problems with that one and had another brought over to him from the store. He earned my respect fast! I also feel that we practiced just the right amount of time for everyone to feel comfortable. I think it would be a good idea to have a group with the same level of adventure or similar age group on a tour. I don't know if the one kid in our group was impatient with us, but most of our group was probably 35- 50 and we seemed to be pretty cohesive. Being from the suburbs, I really enjoyed hearing the history of some of the sites we went past. It was a beautiful day so the view of the lakefront and the parks was spectacular. I was also amazed that a lot of the time, I didn't even have to think about what I was doing. By the end of the tour, I was surprised that I felt so confident about maneuvering around people walking. I did not have any problems with cracks in the sidewalks or bumps. To be honest, my calf muscles were sore the next day but it was well worth it! I think 2 hours is the right amount of time for the first time. My pictures are great! I loved having so many people point at us and tell their friends to look at us or that they wanted to do it too. I am telling friends how much fun it was and would like to do it again!

I loved the tour. I have been to Chicago a dozen time and never taken a tour. This was the best of the 3 that I took on this trip. I would not only recommend the tour, but I might end up buying a Segway.
