A thrilling experience of neat transport vehicle

Since the publicity of this revolutionary device first came to my attention, I had always wanted to be able to see what it really felt like to operate one of these gyroscopically balanced transporters. I had read about them, watched them demo'd on t.v. and observed them in the malls and airports. Finding one of the places that rents these out for a few hours allowed me and my wife the chance to exprience this without having to spend a lot of money. My wife was a bit apprehensive and even talked about backing out of the experience, since this transporter didn't look to her like it was safe to even stand on. Boy did she change her mind. The company gives some excellent pre-ride training to build up your confidence and after that, "let the fun begin". We had a blast and wished we could have spent more time with one of these toys. For something different on a nice afternoon date, here's the way to go!

We decided on a lark to try the segways in grant park. what a blast! the guides were friendly and very accomodative. my girlfriend and i ended up in a group of 6 which was about the right size for our adventure. first 20 min or so is learning to ride the segway which was no big deal. after that we were off to fun with our tour guide whisking along the lake seeing the field museum, the aquarium, and millenium park. a bunch of fun - highly recommended!!

After just several minutes of instruction our group was on the move. The tour guide was fun, full of facts, and kept the group moving at a very comfortable pace. Within several minutes apprehension had disappeared replaced by smiles and laughter. Hope at some point in the near future you allow "veterans to go on their own.

It was a perfect day, Sunny and a little breeze! A great day to explore Chicago on a Segway. The guide was easy to understand and he gave great instructions on how to use the segway. By the time we went a block or so, it was easy to feel comfortable on the machine and enjoy the scenery. Our Group loved the whole experience!

This was a birthday present for my cousin who was in visiting from New Hampshire and had not previously been to Chicago. The office staff were great...held jackets we didn't need. Filled out the paperwork in les than 5 minutes. They took an imprint of a credit card, just in case you kidnapped or destroyed the segway, but shredded it or returned it to you upon your return of the equipment. In less than 10 minutes of training, our total group of 7 were almost experts and on our way to Grant Park and Buckingham fountain. The fountain turned on for the season just as we arrived! From there we rode over to The Field Museum, The Shedd Aquarium and then Adler Planetarium. The view of Navy Pier and the Chicago skyline were awesome! We ended up at Millenium park and the "bean". Took lots of great pictures and our guide also took many pictures for us. He was terrific. The segway was very easy to ride and I woud recommend this tour to everyone...

PERFECT WAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON--

There is no better way to see and enjoy Chicago's beautiful lakefront on a pleasant Spring Sunday afternoon. Our group was small enough at 8 riders to be able to keep together, even when traveling through heavy foot traffic on Michigan Avenue, Our guide, Sarah, was a patient, confident young lady who took the time to be sure all her riders felt secure enough in handling the Segway before taking off on our tour. She worked with each person individually and then had us practice as a group. The Segway is an amazing riding experience. It is so responsive that it almost seems to anticipate what you want to do -- stops on a dime and twirls in place. What fun! A wonderful ride and a great experience. Well worth the money!

The Segway devices are brilliant and very intuitive after a very short while. The instructors are great and the stuff to see is interesting around the city of chicago. I had a thoroughly good time and very readily recommend it as a genuinely unique experience.
