Great experience

Although I'm a local, my mom was in from out of town and I thought this would make a great activity for the weekend. We had a ball! Although it looks a little difficult at first, the guide/instructor was wonderful. He made sure we were all comfortable on the Segway before we actually went on the tour. Very enjoyable experience.

Interesting and exciting tour

I love the area (Grant Park and the Museum Campus) but because the Segway was new to me and somewhat challenging, it was hard for me to concentrate on what the docent was saying. Plus with thousands of people in for Lollapolousa in Grant Park, it was difficult to get around at times. I'm sure with more experience on the Segway, I'd feel more comfortable but the first time was a little scary and nerve-wracking.

just riding on a segway for 2 hrs was really fun. Going down the lakefront and coming back the gold coast was a great way to see 2 sides of the city. Most fun I've had on a tour of chicago. My 12 year old had no problem getting up and going and he had a blast. Over all a great time, smiled the whole 2 hours on the segway.

Fun trip, but short on equipment
Thu, Jul 31, 08   1:30 PM CCHeath54 Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
If the equipment had all been working correctly, this would have been a great trip. The segway is fun to ride, Michael the guide was very fun and informative, but they did not have enough functioning equipment. Two members of the group had to stay back because they ran out of Segways that worked. Plus, toward the end of our ride, another of the Segways failed. The guide gave his to me and he had to walk that one back home. I believe they had overbooked their available equipment and our party had to sacrifice. If you choose to rent there, be sure they don't have a large party booked ahead of you.

The Folks at MySegwayTour were extremely helpful. I brought two C level clients into town for their first Chicago visit. My clients enjoyed the tour and had alot of fun.The guides were friendly, knowledgable and professional. I would recommend this tour to anyone from business professionals to families. I have already recommended this tour to a VP of sales for his team outing. Thank You For Everything! Larry

Fun but not again...

Tour was fine. 3 hour tour is actually a two hour tour with 1 hour of training. Architectual tour was three stops to look back at the city skyline. While the guide was informative, I'm not sure a Segway was any advantage to any other tour. Glad I did it but I doubt I'd want to do it again.

Yes, you'll have fun, fun, fun!

After signing a waiver, viewing a short video, and being fitted with safety gear, we anxiously started our journey. Heading to a park across the street, we learned how to start, balance, stop, and turn on the Segway. We practiced our new skills until everyone in the group felt confident. This is when the fun really began. Our tour guide Mike, paced us through parks, the museum complex, and along the shore. We travelled mostly on level sidewalks, but we also maneuvered up and down slopes, a small grassy section, a little gravel, and across Chicago streets. Mike offered a great mix of historic and humorous stories about the city and the architecture and was also able to answer every random question posed by group members. He engaged each person in conversation and offered to take photos of everyone. The tour was a fast, fun way to see and learn about sites in Chicago.

I took my teenage nieces to Chicago for a special 'secret journey'.. What a great time we had .Mike ,our guide , was great and helpful in learning the ropes with the segway. The route was beautiful , enjoyable and not too difficult. Will take the rest of the family on this adventure . Although it is a litte pricey, it is worth the money....

Terrific way to see Grant Park

A fun tour. Easy to ride after only a few minutes of training. Tour guide Mike, a local college student, was funny and informative, stopping at the Buckingham Fountain for photos and near the Natural History Museum for a brief review of the city skyline and some local history. This was a nice overview of the area and worth taking the time to do.

Combining the segway experience with riding through and experiencing some of Chicago's most beautiful and interesting real estate vowed both an adult who has seen it all and a daredevil teenager...

Segways are so fun and easy to ride. Our guide, Paul, was the best! She was informative, patient, and great instructor. He made it a fun experience for the whole group. We got to see areas that we never would have seen if it weren't for segways.

My 50 year-old husband, 12 year-old son and I went and had a terrific time. I almost didn't get a ticket for me because I was afraid I wouldn't get the hang of it (not too coordinated, you know), but I had no problem. The guides were very patient and friendly and made sure everyone was comfortable before we began. It was a great way to see Grant Park, the museum campus, and the lakefront. Have been to Chicago many times and saw things I had never seen before from a different viewpoint. My son really loved it, just wished he could go faster:) Great activity for all ages!

We loved our experience...
Mon, Jul 28, 08   10:00 AM mbwright1 Female 40-49 Local Family With Children
My husband and I enjoyed our experience so much. The employees were warm and friendly and very organized. With someone at the head and back of our group from the segway place, I always felt safe and looked after. The only thing that I would change is the time spent on the "training" portion. It went on a bit too long with the film and the live instruction. I understand that safety is key, but I think that a live instruction and time practicing would have been enough. Very small complaint, however. I would suggest this experience to anyone looking for something different to do and for an interesting way to learn about Chicago's history.
