A fun way to enjoy Chicago's awesome views

| Positives: A truly unique and fun way to see the city and get around. What a memorable way to introduce our beautiful city! Could be better: The checking in process ate up too much time and was disorganized. It was hard for everyone to see and hear the safety video on a small laptop. Our CAF docent often focused on obscure local details which bored out of towners. He was "in training" so hopefully this doesn't happen all the time. Suggestion: I suggest asking the group if they are local or out of town first, so the docent can adjust his/her comments. | ||||||

| We arrived at the Segway office and there was one harried young man at the counter who tried to manage the crowd but was obviously overwhelmed. He could not meet the needs of the 2 large groups scheduled for tours, and repeatedly made desperate cell phone calls for help. Papers were not organized, and he had to ask several of us the same questions more than once, not able to listen to the answers because he was trying to do something else. We were told to gather around (20+ people) a laptop computer on a counter to watch a safety video hardly anyone could see. It was not designed for a person taking a tour, it was designed for a person who purchased a Segway and spent time talking about taking it out of the box and assembling it in addition to the safety portion. The laptop battery ran down 3/4 of the way through and the video was stopped. There were not enoudh safety vests in the facility for everyone on the tours. The entire tour started over 30 mintues late and some people needed to get refunds. Once the training for the Segway started outside and the Architecture Foundation started their portion of the tour, everything was fine. The tour itself was great, Segway staff helpful, and my only disappointment was we did not see all of the spots on the tour because of the 30 minute late start time. I definitely recommend the experience and the CAF tour, but htey need to make the check in process more streamlined and leave on time. | ||||||

| The tour was great! My group had a blast but we started 2 hours late due to employees not showing up to work on time. We were promised gift certificates for future use because of the lengthy wait but in the end we were not given the certificates...disappointing. | ||||||

| We went on a Segway tour last summer in St. Marteen that was nowhere as good as our tour in Chicago. We got to do a lot of riding, our guide was very knowledgeable, our group was just the right size, and the price was fair. We were also blessed with beautiful weather that day! | ||||||

| The Segway Experience was even more fun than I thought it would be, and I had very high expectations. Everybody in the group "got it" very quickly, and there were no mishaps of even a minor nature. It was challenging enough to be great fun. We had the opportunity to try out a variety of terrain -- uphill, downhill, concrete, grass and loose pebbles, and once we were all old hands at it, our guide, Paul, let us try his much faster Segway. The tour covered some of Chicago's lovliest sights, too. | ||||||

| Mike & Laura were wonderful tour guides. My son and I had I fabulous time. Our tour guides were very clear and thorough on getting us acquainted with the Segways and also in letting us know about the sites we were visiting. We had a marvelous experience. Thank you. | ||||||

| While I have lived in Chicago for over 35 years, you can never get tired of finding new ways to explore the city. My husband and I took our 16 y/o son on the segway tour and he hasn't stopped talking about it since. It's hard at this age to keep a teenage boy excited about doing things with their parents however he keeps asking when are we going to do it again. We took the tour begining from Navy Pier so we have 2 more tours to try. It was great and very easy! (I have limited use of my left hand and had no trouble riding it.) | ||||||

| My friend and I had a great time on the Segway tour!!! Our guide, Steve, was amazing and fun. I would recommend this to anyone wanting something a little different and full of fun. I would love to go on it again. | ||||||

| Highly recommend the segway tour. The segways are great fun, easy to ride, easy to learn (less than 2 minutes) and the guides are great fun too. the only problem is that when you hop off a segway and start walking away you just want to lean forward to go .,... which doesnt work all that well without a segway !!! | ||||||

| We are two adults in our fifties with our twenty something daughter. The two other people on the tour were also in their fifties I'd say. We all loved it and had no problems at all. Chicago is gorgeous and we never could have done all that walking. Our guide was fantastic. Do it! | ||||||

| We enjoyed the tour very much. The training beforehand was good, and we were happy that our trainer, Steve, was with us on the entire tour to continue to add pointers about riding the segways. The CAF docent, Maurice, was also excellent and gave us a great deal of information about the city. We had some interesting views of the city and gained a new appreciation for the Chicago lakefront. The fact that we would be standing for the whole tour did not "register" with us and we were very tired by the end, but it was an experience that we would not have missed. | ||||||

| This was my wife's and my first time on a Segway. We were very comfortable on the ride within minutes of getting on. It is a great way to see the city. The tour guide was familiar with the area and provided enough detail to be able to appreciate what we were seeing. I will look for Segway tours of anywhere we go in the future. | ||||||

| Going along the lake and through Lincoln Park free of traffic on a Segway is a great way to see the city amenities and have fun doing it. A few in our group had questionable balance due to age/weight and probably should not have been on a Segway at all. But for those that have good balance and want to have a fun time; this is just the ticket! | ||||||
