Segway Experience of Chicago

By some stroke of luck my friend and I were the only two people on the Tour. Our guide, Johnathon, was absolutely fantastic. He gave us the full tour even though there were only two of us. I am a lifelong Chicago resident and yet I still learned things and saw things I didn't know. Best seventy bucks i have spent in years!

Have told all my friends that if they ever get a chance to ride a Segway, it's a must do.

Easy to use

we purchased our tickets a week earlier, the forecast at that time was for sunny and bright day. The morning of our tour rain was predicted and we had cloudy day and we were going through with it. We arrived at the rental store, watched a brief video on the safety use of the segway, fitted with safety helmets and reflective vests. We wheeled our units across Michigan Ave to a park and the guide walked each of us through the correct method to operate a segway. Once on board, it was a breeze, after the first ten minutes you are ready to go. We had a fantastic time navigating the sidewalks to Solders Field and museum park. Our guide was very knowledgable about the area and answered our many questions. Overall rating = fantastic day in Chicago.

our guide was really good, fun and knew what he was talking about. riding on the Segways was the best part! it was cool to zoom around. i had a great time with my girlfriend, we were able to take pictures and have a good time. loved it!

Wonderful time. Gorgeous day, quick effective lesson, then freedom with some limits to enjoy many sights in a short time that would have been impossible on foot. Not only did we see lots of fun places and scenery, we got to ride Segways! That would have been fun in and of itself! Fun, fun, fun!

Sincere thanks to the kiosk team, Zerve online reservations, and our most wonderful guide (Jonathan) for making our first segway trip such an enjoyable experience. We were provided with adequate training to get started quickly and safely, a short test drive, and then a packed trip up the beach line, into Lincoln Park, through the Gold Coast and back to Navy Pier. Jonathan was knowledgeable, kept us on an appropriate pace and provided us with a safe, fun guided tour. We have enthusiastically encouraged our friends to take this segway tour.

We all enjoyed it

I was actually persueded to do a segway tour with a couple of friends who were in front out of town. It looked fun but since I'm a local, thought about it as more of a "tourist" activity. As it turns out, I had such a blast, I'm recommending this to my friends and hoping to get a group together very soon! The staff was extremely friendly and were helpful in navigating and showing us how to use the segway. They were also very information on our guided tour and absolutely loved the places they took us to (Park Tour). I thought the tour was just long enough but could have cruised around on my segway for quite a while longer. For some reason, I just love that machine! Anyway, the quality of the both the tours and the segways were excellent and I had an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

Using the Segway was easy to learn and great fun once we got started. The leaders trained us well and added a lot of good information on the areas we toured. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We all thought it would take a while to learn how to work the segway. As advertised, we were comfortable in two minutes. Our guide was knowledgeable and made it fun.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. My wife and I were in Chicago on business and did the 'See Chicago in 2 days' tourist bit. Probably could not have chosen the hottest, busiest weekend in Chicago history. 93F, Tall Ship in town and a Triathlon along Shoreline Drive. A colleague had mentioned this Segway tour you could do and have always wanted to try one of these. Being last minute this was the only company that could accommodate us. The other two either could not be reached at short notice or when did get hold of one it was filly booked - because of the events truncating it's tours. The fact we could book this only line made out lives a lot easier. We decided on the North tour because we had already walked most of the areas the other tours covered. This is probably typical of most tourists so I'd recommend doing this North tour over the others. Our young guide, Ryan, was excellent. But I have to say we did luck out in that we were the only two on the 1:30 tour (mid-day sun and loonies might be connected here) so he was able to give spacial attention. The tour was very interesting, the Segway great fun and easy to learn; even I picked it up in less than a few minutes. This company was a bit more expensive than the others but I'd thoroughly recommend them. Having done this I can see how many other cities could benefit from using Segway to conduct their sightseeing tours. They are amazingly easy to maneuver and take up very little extra space. Certainly less obstructive than bikes (I'm a cyclist) and less of a congestion issue than horse drawn carriages, quaint thought they may be. Use this company, do the north tour. Thoroughly recommended.
