WAY BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS...WONDERFUL!!!

I love to do new things and when I heard about the Segway tour I knew my wife and I had to do it. I'm the adventurer and my wife is the reluctant follower; she was, to say the least, skeptical. By the time we completed our tour, with our group leader David, she was going on about how we could present the tour to our adult children as gifts and, she was grinning from ear-to-ear! She loved it and so did I. We recommend it as a "MUST DO" when visiting Chicago. Special kudos to David...he was fantastic!!

Awesome experience - active & unique Chicago tour!

Being local to Chicago, we've seen and done quite a bit as far as exploring the city and utilizing various tourist services. Our Segueway tour provided that unique twist to a birthday present which was enthusiastically received. Our Team Captain, David, was engaging, educational and made the experience fun for the whole group. We've already recommended this activity to easily 10+ people - and are looking forward to the opportunity to entertain our next set of visitors in the spring with a Segueway experience!

Amazing

We went because we thought the idea of segways in downtown Chicago would be hilarious. We were right! If you're going for an informational tour, this is not for you. However, if you want to see the museums and the lake and cover alot of ground, do it. The segways made the tour.

Segway fun with good bits on Chicago Architecture

Riding a Segway is the highlight. The interesting bits about Grant Park and the Museum Campus are simply a bonus. Recommend for any age, whether local or visiting. Great fun!

Tour started 1 hour late - fun ride, weak guide

We were instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the tour start time of 11:00 am. When we got there at 10:25 the door was locked and two employees were waiting outside but no one had a key. We were told that the person wityh the key would be along in about fifteen minutes. Almost an hour later he showed, and we started our training, then eventually the tour. Now, consider the fact that out tickets were non-refundable and could not be rescheduled. Top it off with a big fat hold harmless disclaimer and an agreement, secured by my credit card, that said if anything was broken I would pay the replacement price - including the cost of the entire Segway ($3,500 +). These are pretty high standards and requirements to hold the buyer to considering the guy with the key couldn't even show up on time. Riding the Segway was fun and the route we took pretty good. Staff were polite and extremely friendly. Guide was ok - didn't have much in the way of accurate and detailed facts, history, etc but put in alot of effort. We didn't much care though because all we wanted to do was ride the things. The Segway ride was fun, easy to do, and worth a try. J, Chicago, IL, USA

Great tour and professional staff

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found it very enjoyable. Our tour guide Jenny and Docent Joyce were very informative, professional and helpful. We were pleased with the pre trip set up and instruction. From the time we entered to check in to the end of our tour it was a very positive experience. We felt the tour was a great balance of "ride time" and information and learned a lot about the fascinating history of Chicago. As we had our 13 and 16 year old children on the tour with us they found it a great experience. As a consequence we would definitely plan to do it again either in Chicago or another city where the tours are available.

The Segway experience was lots of fun, a unique activity. Instruction was excellent, quick and thorough. Combining this with Chicago's waterfront made it an over-the-top adventure. Our Architectural Foundation guide did a fine job of imparting facts, stories, and feelings. Great job.

My boyfriend and I had a great time tooling around on our Segways and learning more about Chicago architecture. It was a beautiful day, albeit a little chilly, and the views of the city were amazing. It was also fun to glide past all the gawking pedestrians like 1960's TV aliens. Most people were intrigued and asked if we were having fun. The answer was always "yes." I only wish we had gone to Millennium Park as well.

Don't Miss The Segway Ride

Easier than riding a bike, makes walking obsolete, makes you feel like you're floating along. After 10 minutes on the Segway, all the scenery became the focus, not how I was getting there. Try it, you'll love it!!

SUPER FUN

At first, we were worried that we may have balance issues in learning how to ride the Segway, but we were pleasantly surprised how easy it was. Dave, our tour guide, was extremely patient and full of good humor. Even with our clumsy first attempts, he was understanding and actually made learning fun. I would enthusiastically recommend this experience to everyone, no matter the age. The park scenario was perfect. We were able to tour the whole park and feel the fresh air without getting tired.

A perfect birthday surprise for my husband. Cameron was a fun leader and we had a great time. I can't say it's the best way to sight-see, as I was really focused on staying in line and not running over any pedestrians, but it was a fun outing.

pop icons on wheels
Sun, Oct 1, 06   1:30 PM wbdbaj Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Riding a Segway through Chicago's museum district and along Lake Michigan is about the biggest change of pace in the city. Or, any city. First of all, people are looking at you constantly, probably envious that they're not doing this. The Segway people on Jackson help you select the right helmet and a garish orange vest with advertising and phone number all over it. You push your vehicle across the street to a walled courtyard to learn how it works. After twenty minutes, you are on your way in a line of 10 tourists to two guides. You sail down Lakeshore Drive on a very wide sidewalk, being sure to stop at the lights, and not roll into the street. First stop is Buckingham Fountain, and the cute college guide gives you the details. Then, to the museums - stopping in front of the Field, the planetarium, and the aquarium. Then, that tremendous overlook at the harbor - full of sailboats this warm October day. You can take pictures, roll around, and even talk to people not on Segways about your experience. All too soon we are rolling back along the waterway, when angry bikers yell at you for hogging the entire walkway with your machines. If you don't know that bikers use the path, and that they are very angry people, you can be yelled at. For $70/person and two hours, riding a Segway is a hoot. Would you ever want to own one? If you lived in a village and needed to go places in about a six mile radius, yes. If there are ample sidewalks without a million bumps, yes. If you are a cop in a large city park, yes. If you are healthy, WALK. But, for two hours - it was neat to be a pop icon on wheels!

This should make anyone want to buy a Segway.

Riding the Segway was a great time, but a little unsettling at first. Once you get used to the machine you will wonder why you don't see more of these in use. I expected a bit more from the tour. Quite a letdown that we were denied going into Millenium Park. The guide was very entertaining but I think lacked knowledge of Chicago history. I would have liked to hear more tales/stories/history about where we were and what we were looking at. Still not a deal breaker, I loved the experience and will certainly tell anyone going to Chicago to check it out.
