Segway Experience of Chicago

As our family "grows up," I tend to seek opportunities that will provide us with unique memories and experiences. How great it was to combine seeing points of interest in Chicago with the ability to ride the Segways! Our family has older teen/young adults now, and a traditional walking or bus tour would have been OK, but the Segways were incredibly fun and added another dimension to the tour! Our training was more than adequate and Sarah, our guide, was super! I would highly recommend this activity to anyone who is the least bit adventuresome! We are considering a different tour from the same company at our next visit to Chicago. We were glad that we took pictures of the family on this tour and have shared them with anyone who will look at them!

No worries at all. Heather did a good job keeping everyone involved. I will recommend this to my sister and parents. That is the key.

This trip was a total blast! Our whole family loved it (12y/o and 14 y/o) We had so much fun operating the segways as well as getting some great info about Chicago on the tour. I would have liked a little bit more time to go independently on them i.e around parks and/or museum campus. Hint: They are operated by balance mainy, so if you have a balance issue, it might be a little difficult.

I've been wanting to do this for years. My only regret, is I did not do it sooner. I'm already planning my next Segway tour. My only question is, who will I share this awesome experience with. I toke my two nephews the first time, ages 12 and 14. My sister says they can't stop talking about the Segways, and how cool their aunt is. I recommend this for all ages. This by the way was a gift to me, from someone who knows my likes and dislikes. He could not have picked a more perfect gift. Priceless Memories!

I really enjoyed our tour, it was a great way to see the city of Chicago, we covered a lot of ground. Our tour guides were great, Sarah and Ed.

It was wonderful to tour so much of the museum campus area. We could never have covered that much ground on foot, and if we had been on a bus, we could not have seen so many things up front. The Segway instruction was great, and the machines were incredibly easy to use- they became extensions of our bodies.

The Segway tour was a blast. It was a great way to see the lake front. We live in the Chicago suburbs, and took our high school aged son with us. We all loved it, and would highly recommend it. I looked into the other tour companies, but they were booked for the day that we wanted. I thought we might have been a little short shrifted, by only having 2 hours, instead of the competitions 3 hour tour. 2 hours was plenty of time for us. It took about 20 minutes to train and then off we went. I did read on the website where the competitors allowed you to go faster after the first half of the tour. That would have been very nice to do and I wish MySegwayTours would change their policy and allow you to go faster on the second half. Everyone in our group of 8 agreed that we should have been able to go faster. There is no way to fall off, frontward or backwards, the Segway keeps you steady no matter how hard you try to fall, but it does take about 5 or 10 minutes to get used to steering them. I can't wait to take our friends when they come to Chicago. Bill

I went on a 2 hour evening tour and a few months ago I'd been on a segway tour in Chicago by City Segway Tours. Their evening tours are 2 hours, but their daytime tours are 3 hours vs. 2 hours for this company during the day and the City Segway tours used the black key starting out and about halfway through they used yellow key which allowed us to ride the segway a little faster. Their price for the 3 hour tour was $75. I wasn't unhappy with the tour and our guide did a good job, but if a competitor offers 2 speeds vs. 1 and a 3 hour daytime tour vs. 2 hours, what would you pick?

We showed up a half hour early as instructed and ended up waiting 25 minutes to get started, then the "training" occured during the first half hour of what should've been the tour. One Segway in our group of 8 had mechanical difficulties and had to be replaced, so we all had to wait for it to arrive from the shop. The guide made up for lost time by going over the end time by a half hour. Luckily we didn't have a tight schedule so only had to keep our other friend waiting for us for 45 min. The tour itself was nice, and flexible as to where we went. The Segways are easy to get used to and everyone in our group seemed to have fun. The weather was perfect, so we lucked out there - considering Chicago weather near the lake. The Segway staff was nice and competent - no worries there.

The guides are patient and knowledgable. Even in the rain we had the best time. It's a great way to see the city.

The chance to ride and operate a Segway is a must, Very easy and fun. Out tour guide Jenny was great as well as all the others in the office.

It was great fun to zip along the waterfront on the Segways. Nicole was an enthusiastic and fun guide.

We decided on a lark to try the segways in grant park. what a blast! the guides were friendly and very accomodative. my girlfriend and i ended up in a group of 6 which was about the right size for our adventure. first 20 min or so is learning to ride the segway which was no big deal. after that we were off to fun with our tour guide whisking along the lake seeing the field museum, the aquarium, and millenium park. a bunch of fun - highly recommended!!

The Segway devices are brilliant and very intuitive after a very short while. The instructors are great and the stuff to see is interesting around the city of chicago. I had a thoroughly good time and very readily recommend it as a genuinely unique experience.

Jennifer and Sarah were great tour guides. Very thorough with the pre-tour training of the Segways and with the knowledge of the local sights during the tour. A great experience. My son's favorite activity while in Chicago. He liked it more than seeing the Blue Man Group. Thanks for a memorable experience. Jamie Zellers
