Segway Experience of Chicago

Very different experience--but be prepared for cool conditions. It was about 60F when we went, but with the wind blowing off the lake some of our group was shivering. With a Segway, you're really just standing on a platform racing down the street, so there's not much physical activity to keep you warm. Dress for at least 10 degrees cooler than actual air temperature. Our guide was very pleasant, knowledgeable about Chicago and of great assistance in teaching our group to ride.. An older woman with us (60's) never really got the hang of it (balance issues?) and walked back the last two blocks.

We very much enjoyed our tour with Mike . He was informative and very charming. The segways are fun after a short learning period. I was only a bit sore the next day. I highly recommend it especially if you want to please your teens.!!

My 18-yr-old nephew was in town for his first extended visit of Chicago. This tour was a perfect way to spend a few hours. Great tour guide and tour route. I highly recommend.

I have lived in the Chicago area all of my life and have done every tour, event, program the city offers, but this one was AWESOME. Buzzing around the lakefront and museum campus on segways just made me appreciate our fabulous city all over again. My two teenage boys who generally roll their eyes when I suggest a day in the city had a blast and even learned many fun facts and pieces of information about the city, its architecture, the Fire, the World's Fair, soldier field, etc. Bottom line - we are blessed to live near such a great city and the Segway tour just gave us one more opportunity to enjoy all it has to offer. Our guide was fabulous, Segways were easy to learn, etc.etc. etc. Five stars for sure!

The Segway Park Tour was the highlight of our trip to Chicago. We had briefly walked through part of the area earlier but the Segway tour gave us a complete history of that part of Chicago as well as the skyline, the Lakes, and other facts. Mike, the guide gave us an excellent orientation and learning session about handling the Segway. The information about the landmarks were interestingly presented, and timed to include even those at the back of the group (me). In addition, every person at the segway meeting place was friendly, helpful, and a wealth of information about Chicago.

Took the park City Gilde Tour with Mike!! It was so much fun we didn't want it to end. It was a postcard perfect day to be in the city and the sights were magnificent. This is a great tour for families, as they go into some fun and interesting facts about the city and achitecture, but not enough to bore the children! Our kids are 13 and 16 and we all had no trouble learning to maneuver the Segway.It's super easy and smooth! There's about a 20 minute training session prior to the actual start of the tour. Highly recommended! Mike was awesome! We even stopped for a Chicago Style Hot Dog during the tour! YUM!!

Dave, (guide), and Jeff, (Segway instructor), were great. Dave gave just enough architecture information to make things interesting but not boring. The route was easy to navigate and you could look around and enjoy the city. Chicago is the perfect city for this type of tour because it's flat and the sidewalks and park paths are very generous. I could have toured all day. It was an excellent addition to our trip.

my best friend and i enjoyed the tour very much. we were lucky because we were the only ones on the tour. our guide was very nice and we had a lot of fun. only thing: please clean your toilet/bathroom. the condition is more then awfull! the price was reasonable but we saw a different provider who offered a two hour tour for @50 usd.

I bought the tickets for my 15 year son old and my very hard to please mother-in-law. They had a blast. They can't stop talking about it. It poured the day they went and they still said it was fantastic. My son has given me a blow by blow of everything they did. I think that is the most he has said in 6 months. Thanks for the big success!

Really, it was an amazingly fun experience. Jeff, our tour guide, was fantastic--he patiently got us all comfortable with riding the segway, tailored the tour to what the group wanted to do, etc. I will be bringing other friends/relatives down to experience riding the segway.

This is a great way to get around town, experience something new and share it all with friends or strangers. Definitely gives you something to write home about. Tour guides are fun, informed and very helpful.

I would recommend this experience to everyone. Not only is the segway a blast, but the guide that took us on the tour was great!! Everyone should segway, especially in Chicago!!

I live in the city and have seen it all, but my husband and I wanted to blow off a day from work trying something unique that involved enjoying the beautiful fall weather. Learning to ride the Segway is very easy and like nothing else I've ever done. The all-electric machine becomes one with your body, and the ability to speed around at about the rate of a full out run is exhilirating--all while being sidewalk legal. We also easily rode on grass. We had an incredible time! The best thing is no matter how crowded the sidewalks are, pedestrians move out of your way when they see you coming, allowing you the freedom to zoom around. Loved it! We will book their architectual tour next just to ride again. The Segway Experience was very professional and their new P2 Segways were awesome. They go the extra mile to train you and make sure you are comfortable. Their location is convenient also.

The MySegway Tour was a fun way to spend the day with an adult child and husband. Tour guides were great and shared interesting archictectural facts of many Chicago landmarks. I thought the Segway was going to be a little intimidating, but it was very easy to learn to ride. How I wish we could just have one to go up and down the lake front at our own leisure!

I had a very bad experience on the Segway tour. I had a defective segway which resulted in a bad fall and almost a second fall. My segway was swapped with tour guides segway after he advised the home base that it was not an operator error, he was getting an error reading on the segway. This could have been a very serious accident. Being that everyone in the group had never been a on segway before, the tour route should have been on more even ground.
