Segway tour is a pleasure
Sun, Sep 9, 07   10:00 AM zootownguy Male 50-59 Local Family With Children
My teen son and I enjoyed our tour very much. The segway experience was a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a sunny morning. The 2 hour tour was great, but 3 hours would have been more to our liking. Learning to ride a segway was much easier than we had expected. After 10 minutes we were fully confident in our ability to navigate through the city. Our tour was made even more pleasure filled by our tour guide Dave. He is a senior at Columbia College studying to be an actor. He has a very personable way about himself, and supplied us with many interesting factoids of the city during the tour. The segways we rode were limited to 6 mph. Being able to experience the ride at the higher speeds the segway is capable of, is something we would wish to see in the future. John and Sean

Fun way to see the city

The segways were a blast and quite hilarious to ride. I really enjoyed how much of the city we were able to see, out in the open air, in such a short amount of time. The information provided by the tour guide left a little to be desired, but the sites and areas we saw were great and (especially without the speed regulator) the segways were a lot of fun!

Do not accept "BIG BOY" when this company is out
Fri, May 25, 07   1:30 PM Zachariahsza Male Under 20 Unspecified Unspecified
I had injured myself because of being given a huge Segway when I specifically asked for the smaller, more controllable segway but there were none left in the store to use. I really think the store representative should had used the big one and allowed the paying customer, like myself, use the one of my choice. The company leader did this so sneakedly----left me for last in the group (since I was the young guy--and said here is your SEGWAY--the "big boy". What could I say when no other one was available and everyone else had their vehicle and were ready to go? Terrible experience! Never asked me is OK...just gave it to me! I also expressed my concern about the competitor company giving one extra hour of riding compared to this one, but they would not listen. I wish I would had gone to the other company who was able to travel the Millenium Park. etc. My next trip I will not come home with sores on my knees and elbows-----because I will be given the correct size Segway--the one I had specifically asked for paying $70. This company was not prepared for large crowds at all. They must remember the CUSTOMER. One more issue---the brochure said come in one half hour earlier for training---that was not part of the two hours. I have no idea why 45 minutes of the two hours was taken up with training....not according to advertisement. Cleveland, Ohio

Outstanding Time!

This was truly our favorite tour of the city with the included fun of driving around on a Segway! This is the fourth time we have come to Chicago from San Antonio and the tour by far surpasses anything we have done, and we have pretty much done most of the tours of the city! Thanks again for a great Seg-experience, Carl p.s.-We were so happy with our experience we bought the t-shirt too.....

Learning how to use the Segway was as much fun as going around Chicago on it. Tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable about various attractions along the tour.

This is a really great way to see Chicago. We went on the tour that takes you north along the lake and were lucky to have a small group of only four people. The Segway is surprisingly easy to manage and there's a compulsory 'training course' before you start. (I managed to fall off despite this, but only because I became over-confident). It combines the advantages of a walking tour - you can get up close and personal with all the things you've come to see, and a driving tour - you can cover quite large distances painlessly. Well, relatively painlessly - it's a bit hard on the back to stand for so long, though there's a break in the middle that helps if you need to stretch. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the whole experience a lot of fun.

Segways are great, but docent was okay
Sat, Jul 7, 07   10:00 AM wwshriver Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
We had a ball riding on the segways although the speed limiter was frustrating at times. The route for our architectural tour was exactly what we were looking for. The part that was only okay was the fact that our docent didn't realize that we were local and therefore new much of what she was telling us. On top of that she read from notes much of the time while we were in the museum campus area and that took away from it all. Her knowledge of the buildings/statues on Michigan Avenue was high.

Well worth it

Our family enjoyed the Segway tour a lot. I don't recommend it if you really want an informative or detailed tour of Chicago. It is really all about the Segway. Like most people taking this tour, I assume, I had never been on a Segway and was curious. It was easy to learn and very safe. The instructor was very patient and personable. The tour is a great way to spend time with the family and get oriented to downtown Chicago. It seemed expensive at $70 per person but was well worth it. If going in the summer, I recommend sun block and sun glasses. A hat is not necessary since you wear a helmet. We were worried about punctuality but it was very relaxed and if you are late, I am sure they will wait on you.

The guide had good knowledge of the city. Everyone was comfortable with the machines before we left for the tour. By the end of the tour we could all manuver the machines as if we were walking. The views and locations we saw were great! I would recommend this to anyone.

My wife, son, and I really enjoyed our Segway tour. We toook the navy pier tour that went along the waterfront, Licoln park, and some incredible neighborhoods. Our guide, Andrew, was very helpful in gettting everyone on the tour (total of 8) comfortable with their Segway's and feeling safe. In addition, he added a lot of insight telling us about Chicago history and architecture.

Hugely fun and interesting!

Dave, (guide), and Jeff, (Segway instructor), were great. Dave gave just enough architecture information to make things interesting but not boring. The route was easy to navigate and you could look around and enjoy the city. Chicago is the perfect city for this type of tour because it's flat and the sidewalks and park paths are very generous. I could have toured all day. It was an excellent addition to our trip.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked the tour but my 16 year old daughter and I both walked away pleasantly surprised. It did not take long at all for us to feel comfortable on the Segway. In addition to enjoying the novelty of buzzing around on the Segway, our tour guide, Alex, did a great job of keeping us entertained and safe on our journey.
