Fun and informative

First of all I loved Burt, our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. The chocolate stores were amazing. You would think when you walked in these stores, they would be very snooty, but it was just the opposite. They were extremely nice and helpful. ( you could tell they also enjoyed being around Burt). It was a nice walk, but you could take as long as you needed. I highly recommend this tour. I would go again.

bert combines history and fun facts with all the charm and consideration you would expect from a southern gentleman. our tour never stinted on time in a shop, we had all the time we wanted to spend at each stop . each stop was educational and fun and i will never look at milk chocolate in the same way. i can actually taste the nuances! would i do it again? you bet i would!

Really Enjoyable

We enjoyed each of the different shops and the varied chocolates. It was fun to see a different side of New York and get away from some of the more typical "tourist" spots.

Divine indulgence

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Burt, was as much a treat as the chocolate. He was a wealth of interesting information regarding everything chocolate and then some. The chocolate shops were varied and, of course, delicious. This was a birthday present for my grown daughter but even my 5 year old granddaughter enjoyed it. (We did bring a stroller for her.) Definitely worth it!

we were very happy with our experience and will definitely try one of the other tours as a result of our positive thoughts on this one. the chocolates were amazing and the tour guide truly helped guide us in our chocolate making decisions. he also was intimately aware of the history associated with each shop. we had a fun time and learned alot during the day...

My husband Steve signed me up for this grand chocolate tour of the finest shops in Manhatten as an anniversary gift. I met our tour guide Bert in front of Sachs 5th Ave at noon on a lovely September day. There were only 4 other people on the tour so I got to chat and get to know everyone as our well informed and friendly tour guide took us to the best chocolate shops in town. At each store we were given 2 samples of chocolate. The best I've ever had. The tour was 2and a half hours long and each store was a short walk along some of the lovliest streets in Manhatten. There even was time for a restroom stop. All in all I had a great time and I recommend it highly. Christine Greene

Chocolate/walking tour

The tour was led by Burt , who was very helpful and knowledgable about chocolate. The two pieces at each location were very small - as good chocolate should be - but the price of the tour for two little pieces at five locations seemed to be costly. At a couple of places, samples in addition to our two allotted pieces were passed around. The day was hot and humid and I couldn't make it to the fifth and final and most expensive chocolate shop. Later in the afternoon, Burt called and said he had my chocolate with him and would bring it to me if I happened to be anywhere around the area. All in all, I thought it was fun. I really am a chocoholic but I didn't buy any chocolate because it would have melted in the heat. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. We had a group of five and that was a nice-sized group.

Full of tons of learning and fun

The Luxuury Tour was far more worthwhile and fun than I had expected! I took this tour since the other, seemingly more my style of tour, was full. Wrong!! Our tour guide, Burt, was an added bonus.... full of salient facts, bits of interesting history, and seriously interested in giving us a fun and educational time. The guy knows his chocolate! The route of the tour was fine for a walking tour, even though the day was hot and muggy. And the chocolatiers we visited were excellent examples of fine chocolate making, and were eager to help us buy their products and answer our silliest questions!! I'm a chocolate retailer, and I learned a ton from Burt. My only suggestion to Burt was to figure out a way for his customers to buy the chocolate and not have to carry it around during the tour on a hot and muggy day. Not an easy question to answer! I thought the price was a little steep until I realized I was eating more chocolate than should be legal for one day by one person!! And the education for someone seriously interested in learning about chocolate, was worth every penny. Now I can only hope the other tour is available on my next NYC visit!!

We enjoyed each and every minute of the tour. Our tour guide, Bert, was very enthusiastic and friendly. He not only knew about all of the chocolates and their history, he aslo provided us with in depth knowledge of the city. We would defiinitely take this tour again and will be recommending to all our friends! Jennifer and David N. Ireland

I found that the tour was a little too generic. Our guide was very informative on the different shops we went to, explaining the differences between each. However I feel that more demonstrations would have made the tour more interesting. Even if we saw the tempering process it would have been more than just eating chocolates. The other thing is we both found the time a little off. It would be more amenable to have the tour after the lunch hour.
