I found this tour quite by accident on the computer and thought it might be interesting as something to do on Saturday afternoon to fill in some time before our Broadway show. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. Our tour guide was most informative about chocolate, its background, its characteristics and the chocolate stores we visited throughout the tour. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes chocolate. You will be in for a fun and extremely tasty afternoon and you even walk off some of those nasty calories.

The tour was great and we learned so much about chocolate. Mehdi, our tour guide, was awesome! His knowledge of and expertise in the area was clear and his personality was warm and welcoming . We would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about chocolate and where it comes from. Great samples along the way!

Poor Guide

The tour guide was not knowledgeable about chocolate or New York City. She clearly lead us the wrong way after the meeting place and then said we were taking the scenic route as we walked past the store on the opposite side of the street. She was brief in her descriptions of the chocolates and there should have been opportunity to buy something at each store. Only in one store did an employee speak up and gave a detailed description about their chocolates, which was very welcomed. She did not mention of any of the NYC landmarks we were walking past, which would of added to the overall cohesiveness of the tour. At the bare minimum she should have said something like, "onthe way to the next shop we will walk past Grand Central Station." I realize that this was her first month, but she needs to be prepared with more information on her subject and her surroundings.

Unexpected Highlight

We booked this tour rather last minute after reading some excellent reviews from the Guardian and online. Burt was our affable host who took us round 5 beautiful chocolate shops, each with their own distinct style and tastes! He was highly articulate and knowledgable on the subject of chocolate and both of us (my boyfriend and I) felt we learnt a lot from him! One of the main highlights for us was talking to a real local who knew the areas around town to recommend, what to look out for and sights/sounds not to be missed. Burt clearly had a good relationship with the chocolate shop staff as they all greated him like long lost friends and made us all feel very welcome. Thank you for providing this tour and we would recommend it to anyone going to New York! (P.S. you should set one up in London...)

I took my mom on this tour since she is a chocolate lover. We both had a wonderful time and tasted the most delicious and unusual chocolates. Our guide was so informative and personable. It was a lovely tour and I would highly recommend it to not only tourists, but also for locals looking for something different to do in the city.

The tour was so much fun! I wasn't sure what it was going to be like as a single person joining the group, but I had a great time. Our tour guide Bert was awesome, not only knowledgeable but super friendly. I felt no pressure to buy from the stores we visited and I didn't feel rushed going through the tour either. The actual places we visited were very nice and welcoming, and Bert was very helpful in helping us choose which chocolates to taste and just answering our questions. I'll definitely look into checking out the other tours!

Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable, he made time for each guest and was very conscientious of the warm day and was accommodating to requests for breaks - and stops at the ATM! This tour was a great way to experience chocolate in a way we wouldn't have otherwise, and to take a walking tour with an experienced guide was a real treat - just like having a friend in New York. Be sure to book the tour early in your schedule so you have time to go back and visit the places that were your favourites, not to mention all the high end stores you pass along the way. Highly recommended for any chocolate lover no matter how familiar you are with New York.

Fun bachelorette party

I went on this tour as part of a bachelorette party for a friend. It was a unique, fun event to do as a group. Our tour guide was great. She was very enthusiastic and informative the whole time. She didn't rush us and at the same time didn't spend too much time in any one place. I would definitely recommend something like this for a fun group outing.
