Excellant tour with very knowledgable tour guide.

The tour was great. The tour guide "Bert" was very knowledgable about the content. We learned a lot of information about chocolate that we never knew. Especially regarding the various methods that are used to make the various types of chocolate.. (American, English, Irish, French, Belgium). You learn what tastes you like the most. All the chocolate was great. You do need to be a chocolate lover (as most of us are). You will definitely sample quite a bit of chocolate. All shops were very attentive to us. The walk inbetween shops was just enough. Glad the shops were not so close together after eating the chocolate in each shop. Terriffic job.............

Once again, Bert did a great job. This was our second tour with him, the first in Greenwich Village. He is very knowledgeable about the chocolate, the places we went to, and just about the CIty. I would definitely (and do) recommend these tours. It was a great 2 1/2 hours!

University of Chocolate

It's everything you ever wanted to know about chocolate. A great education about the delicacy. For example, chocolate comes from a fruit. At least, that's what I gathered. Guess it makes it an essential part of a balanced diet. Be prepared to tip the scales after the tour though, many chocolate samples later. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Bravo!!! It's a must do while in New York. If you're going to eat chocolate, you may as well learn about. This tour pulls off both items rather nicely...

Great Experience

My wife and I went on the European Chocoloate Tour as a gift for her birthday. My wife really enjoys chocolate and I thought this would be a great way to spend an afternoon. It turned out to be a great decision and we both had a wonderful time - here is why. First, our guide (Bert) was really awesome. He was engaging and informational, knew everyone at the shops and was just very pleasant to spend two hours with. Second, it was fun walking around trying different cholocates and learning why various countries have a different approach which leads to different tastes. Third, our guide was awesome. Seriously, I have been on many of these types of tours (various cities throughout the world and in the US and in different formats) but the single most important aspect is the tour guide. Plus, you are guaranteed to get Bert because he does all the tours. You will have a great time for a very reasonable price. We followed-up by going to a wine bar then out to dinner. I make this point to highlight that you don't gouge yourself on chocolate but you get enough great and different tastes to enjoy the event. I promise, I am not always so complimentary when I provide these reviews. This just happened to be a very good experience.

We celebrated a 50th birthday party in NYC and this was part of our trip. We had such a great time visiting the shops and touring the city. Bert was awesome! I would highly recommend this tour to someone that loves chocolate and is looking for something a bit different in NYC.

This tour was a present from me to a friend who was celebrating a major birthday, and it did not disappoint. We had a terrific couple of hours with our guide Bert and the others on the tour. Bert managed to deliver an amazing amount of information about chocolate, while at the same time answering every question in a relaxed, thouughtful and humorous way. I confess that at the beginning of the tour I thought that getting 2 samples at each shop didn't sound like much. Wrong! These are samples of very rich chocolates and we were in fact given extra samples or tastes of hot chocolate at several shops. Our samples turned out to be so filling that we didn't want to eat them all right then. We COULD have, but were very, very happy that we had taken a plastic container to save some for later. I heartily recommend this as a way to appreciate each type of chocolate -- and, I heartily recommend this tour.

Tasteful Tour

Our tour guide, Burt, knew a lot about the process of making chocolate, its history and culture, as well as how to really appreciate it. We visited five great chocolate shops, got to try two piece of chocolate from each shop and, at two shops, had very luxurious hot chocolate. Burt was very personable and helped us to enjoy our 2.5 hour experience. My wife and I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to try upscale chocolate and even just to learn about the chocolate culture.

Amazing Chocolate Tour

I took my friend on this for her Birthday and she just loved it!!! It's a walking tour but we didn't walk all over the place where we would be exhausted. I was so glad that we were able to tour the stores and not feel tired! The chocolate tour was outstanding. Our guide new so much about each store and the chocolate they carried but he did not go on and on and turn the tour scientific. It was an amazing time! I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat chocolate and enjoy NYC while learning about the culture and taste of this amazing fruit!!! YUP it's a fruit!!!

Took the gf for her bday - she loved it. I'm not much of a chocolate fan, but there were some delicious treats, interesting stops and leftovers to take home (tough to eat all the chocolate they provide). Our tour guide was great. I didn't love walking around midtown east in a group of nine people on a Saturday though. Certainly worth it otherwise.

The Chocolate Tour was very good. We went to 5 different chocolate places and tried different types of chocolates and hot chocolates. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the different types of chocolates and also gave us some tips on things to do and eat in the city.
