The tour was small, so it was very intimate. Our guide was great! Very personable and knowledgeable! He gave us inside tips about chocolate as well as informational and fun tidbits about Manhattan. I highly recommend it and will sign up for another one soon!

This was my THIRD chocolate adventure with Bert! And, as usual, the experience was entertaining and educational and well worth my precious time while visiting the best city in the world! The chocolatiers we visitied seemed enthusiastic about the opportunity to tell us about their products and the addition of bakery thoughts was a nice new wrinkle. If you haven't discovered the Union Square neighborhood yet, this tour is a must just to get Bert's perspective of this incredibly interesting part of NYC ...to say nothing about the delicious port served at our first stop!!

I wasn't quite sure what kind of a tour this would be, but was impressed with the knowledge of the surrounding area that our tour guide had. He was charming and very personable. Except for the chocolate company that we visited that actually made the chocolate on the premises we had no contact with anyone other then the counter people who gave us the chocolate upon our arrival. By the time we arrived at our final destination I wasn't really interested in tasting any more chocolate. I love chocolate, but was more interested in the interesting information that we learned on the way.

I recently took this tour and was very happy with the whole experience! I've had some of the chocolate makers they take you to on the tour but had never been to visit them. It was interesting to see their facilities and chat with the chocolatiers. Our guide was fun, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I must warn you though, this tour involves a LOT of chocolate, you gotta pace yourself, don't make the same mistake I did...

Great Tour

Great tour, very informative, learned a lot about the history of chocolate, where it is grown, how it evolved. Especially loved the tastings and pairing the chocolate with wine as well as the variety of types of chocolate and other pastries. We have recommended this tour to several of our friends who would like to take the same tour when next they are in New York.

I am an avid chocoholic and loved this tour. It took me to some usual locations in New York City and I experienced some very tasty treats. The tour guide was great. He made it a lot of fun. He was very knowledgeable about the chocolate and New York City. This tour does involve some walking if you are not used to that.

SWEET!

Spring and chocolate in New York. It doesn't get better than this. Our host was as hospitable as he was knowledgable. We tasted a (very) generous amount of chocolate in a variety of venues, a number of which we would have never discovered on our own. I particularly enjoyed that fact that, if we wished, we could substitute a pastry for chocolate at some venues. Just don't plan on eating dinner any time soon after this tour.

Mix-up with meeting spot.

The tour was A LOT of walking! Unfortunately we had to do more walking than normal because we were given the incorrect meeting location so we had to walk several blocks to meet our tour guide before the tour even started. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgable. The third stop was my least favorite. I didn't think the chocolate chip cookie was very impressive and the hot chocolate was like thick pudding. We enjoyed all of the other stops.

Fun eating/drinking tour

The chocolate, wine and pastry tour was very enjoyable in part due to our wonderful guide, Bert. The shops we visited were very interesting and the chocolate was beautiful to look at. However, I am a basic type of chocolate person and there was little to tempt me, but what I did taste was very good. The pastries were great as was the wine. I cannot stress, however, that this tour is a lot of walking - blocks and blocks and blocks of walking. I know the information said there is walking and wear comfortable shoes, but it was more than I anticipated. I was just glad our day was somewhat of a cool one. The stop at the organic chocolate factory was very interesting as was the owner who graciously told us whatever we wanted to know about how she made her chocolate. I would recommend this to persons who are chocoholics. My friend who went with me is a chocoholic and loved all of it!

Decadent, Delicious, and Delightful!

Overall a well coordinated tour by our guide Burt - who was charming, informative, and very apologetic when Zerve gave us the incorrect location to meet. (Mistakes happen but more should have been done to correct the mistake - for example calling the cell phone numbers customers provided.) The tour provided a balance of excellent chocolate to taste, paired with a good wine, and interesting businesses to visit. I particularly liked the bit of neighbood history Bert provided while strolling some lovely East Side streets. All and all a lovely afternoon.
