Awesome Soho chocolate tour

I went with 3 friends (as a mutual birthday outing) on the Soho Chocolate tour. Despite the rain, it was abundantly fun and delicious and surpassed our expectations. Our guide, Linzi Jean, was very friendly, knowledgeable and organized. We had ample time at each stop, but miraculously stayed on schedule. The chocolate stops were much more unique and interesting than I'd imagined. While we did walk through a bit of Soho, everything was fairly close together, so even in the rain, it was an easy jaunt. Thanks!

Would recommend it to any chocolate lover

Burt was great, and unfortunately for Sweetwalks it was his last tour. He was good enough to be picked for a management spot at one of the chocolate stores he frequented on this tour. it turned out to be a private tour for me and my boyfriend, and four trainees joined the group. It was a lot of fun, and Burt was very knowledgable about everything! What we particularly loved about him was his lack of pretension. The stores were all very interesting, and we bought chocolates from every one of them. Unfortunately for us, I somehow left the bag with a large 20 oz tin of the Aztec hot chocolate we got from Mariebell Sweets at the theatre. The hot chocolate was so good, as were all the hot chocolate samples we received! I would recommend this to any chocolate lover, and would say to be open minded about what chocolate is, because I came to find out that beautiful ganache can be combined with curry, pistachio, lemon, sesame, passion fruit, and so many flavors one would not expect. They were all delicious, and it certainly opened my mind up as to the depth of possible flavors. Thank you Sweetwalks for a great birthday present experience for my boyfriend.

I took my 12-year old daughter on this tour on a cold, rainy weekend afternoon. Because of the weather, we were the only ones on the tour. The guide was extremely nice, personable and knowledgable. Because of the weather, he emphasized some of the sellers of speciality hot chocolate as well as chocolate and truffles. We got more than enough to taste at each place and the owners knew our guide well and so we were bumped to the front of all the lines. Generally, a great time with truly delicious tastings.

Despite heavy rain - did not disappoint!

Our tour guide Burt was just great. From the minute we met him at the 1st chocolate shop, he was very engaging. He definitely knows his chocolate history, but at the same time, didn't bore with too much detail, and allowed for plenty of eating and tasting time. The weather in the city was rainy, cold, and windy, and the city was packed with shopping tourists for the Christmas season, but even with a group of 13 people, he managed to keep us all in good spirits and somehow managed to keep us together! I found out about this tour online by mistake, but it turned out to be a great mistake. I highly recommend it to any chocolate lover, or to anyone who has a "special someone" who is a chocolate lover.

And I thought WINE was complicated!

A really fun activity for anyone who enjoys chocolate - and who doesn't? I knew little about the process of growing, harvesting, drying, refining, and producing chocolate, so it was useful to get an overview from our guide. Coming from northern California, where we "grow" wine, I found striking similarities in how chocolate is assessed and judged - where and how it is grown, how it is treated during and after harvest, different ways to extract the flavor, how to blend it for shipment, and how to describe the various flavors when it is eaten. We were given this tour as a Christmas present. Our tour was the Saturday following Thanksgiving and, although our group was relatively small, making our way through the crowds from one shop to the next was a challenge. I would suggest picking a time when the crowds are smaller so you can interact with the other tour members and the guide while walking. The five shops we visited presented a good perspective on how chocolate can vary in flavor and presentation. Everything we ate was glorious, but we particularly enjoyed getting hot chocolate at two of the locations. We definitely are going to try to find a way to reproduce these drinks and serve them over the holidays.

My family and I had a fantastic experience on the NYC chocolate tour this past Friday. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about NYC history and chocolate. The shops we visited were all welcoming, despite the size of the tour group. I highly recommend this tour for a nice family outing.

Highly recommend this trip through some excellent gourmet shops throughout SoHo. Bert was a delightful guide, the staff in each shop was also very nice and helpful, but the chocolate was the real star. Worth the price, and then some.

We were surprised by how much we liked the tour. Laid back, but we also learned a lot. The guide (Bert) is great - we're taking one of their other tours with him in December.

The tour size was kept small and was conducted in a very informal fashion which made it all the more enjoyable. The tour progressed at a leisurely pace and I relished the fact that you had more than adequate time to purchase more chocolates if needed. Our guide was very knowledgeable in the realm of chocolates and made great suggestions on what to try/not try. I felt that the overall selection of venues was carefully thought out and had a good representation of European chocolates. Although, I must comment on that the Irish shop despite having a very tasty hot chocolate drink, had a limited selection of chocolates that did not quite fit the style of the other 4 shops. To recap - a wonderful experience indeed. I will definitely be going back to visit a few of those shops on my own, some I probably would have never found had it not been for the tour!

The tour was an opportunity to do something truly different. Bert, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgable. He provided a casual approach to the event, which helped everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy the afternoon. All in all a great experience.

Thank you Bert!!! How awesome to find a tour unique for locals and visitors to NYC!! My 14 old daughter and I had the day off and I wanted to do something interesting and fun. This tour covered it! We know more about chocolate than we ever thought could be possible. Bert is so knowledgable about the process of making chocolate to the intricate aromas, and flavors. His suggestions were superb. We were able to freely choose two pieces from each shop and two of the five we were given hot chocolate.. each very different. Our small group of nine was diverse, interesting and fun. Bert set the tone at the first shop and we were able to mingle and chat walking along 5th avenue and vicinity. We highly recommend a leisure two hours with Bert . Thank you, we loved you and all that you know about chocolate!

We had such a great time on the tour. My sister and I took my mom for her birthday. The tour guide, Bert, was really nice. He called us when it got close to noon to make sure we were on our way. It was nice of him, instead of just leaving without us. He was very knowledgeable and said happy birthday! to our mom. The chocolates and hot chocolate were delicious. It was raining, but it really didn't matter. We didn't even notice because we had such a good time. We told some friends about it when we got back home and recommended it on Facebook. Thanks again!

We all had a great time eating ,drinking and walking. Our tour guide Bert was enthusiatic and knowledgable. The amount and types of wine and chocolate offered throughout the tour was lacking.
