Fun, fun, fun

A spontaneous day trip to NYC with a friend found us looking online for something different to do. We happened across the ad for Zoom's Chocolate, Wine & Culture Walking Tour. What could be more fun than that?!! We signed up easily by calling Zerve and were told to meet the group in front of Starbucks. We arrived a bit early and there was no sign of a group. We went into the Starbucks and asked if anyone knew where the group met. No one had ever heard of it, so we thought perhaps we'd been scammed (such skeptics). We waited inside a few minutes until I spotted a young man with a messenger bag over his shoulder right there on the corner!! (Yay! Not a scam!) We met Bert, our guide, and the other "tourists", 10 in all, and were on our way. Bert is a delightful, knowledgeable, easy going guide and we had great fun. Three hours of walking, talking, and tasting went by very quickly. We would recommend this tour to anyone (not kids younger than say 16) who would enjoy an insider's view of some yummy and fascinating boutique chocolate stores!

This was a fantastic tour. The tour guide is great. Not only does he know a lot about chocolate, but also the area. He is friendly and fun. The tour itself consists of going to several different chocolate shops and picking chocolates to try. The guide knows all the different kinds of offered. There are some very adventurous types of chocolates to try, and you get to try ALOT!! I enjoyed this tour so much that I will be taking the other one soon.

Great for Sweet Lovers to Explore Manhattan
Sat, Jan 3  4:00 PM wegs243 Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
I went on the chocolate tour around Soho with a few friends and found it so interesting. Not only were we enjoying amazing chocolates, but we were learning about it all the while exploring Manhattan in a new way. As a local who loves the city, this is a great thing to do with friends, a significant other or family members! Our guide Bert was so friendly and informative...I highly recommend it!

If you like chocolate and want to taste some amazing pieces, go on this tour. The chocolate was phenomenal and each shop was unique. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and it was fun to eat and learn about different types of chocolates (and their health benefits!). I really enjoyed this tour.

We had the great Bert as our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about chocolate and the chocolatiers that we visited. It was refreshing that he provided his opinion but stressed that everyone has their own likes and dislikes and we should try whatever tastes good to us. I highly recommend this tour and will be bringing another group of friends back to do it again!

ALOT OF CHOCOLATE
Sat, Oct 4, 08   12:00 PM woody1834 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Lots of different types of chocolate to choose from; almost too many choices. The chocolatiers were very diverse which was interesting and the tour guide, Bert, was excellent and friendly. Nice locales as well like Saks, Bloomingdales, Rockefeller Center area and Park Avenue. No negatives to report; nice way to spend the day in the city.

This is a fabulous tour that should not be missed! Our well informed, personable and wonderfully funny guide, Bert, was the best ever! We stopped at 5 Chocolate shops that each had something different to offer, and he explained each style & flavor in detail to us so we could make informed decisions for our tastings. It was a walking tour that seemed conveniently spread out in Soho so that we got just enough exercise between chocolate binging...I mean tastings. We had such a variety...who knew there was a "green olive" chocolate...and I loved it! We even tasted chocolates that were so beautifully decorated that it seemed a crime to eat them (but we did)...we had others that were filled with liquid Champagne! We will definitely do this again on our next visit...and you should, too! Don't let our ages fool you...we are still young in body & mind.

my friend and i recently went on the union square chocolate tour. bert, our guide, was fun and personable. it felt like it wasn't so much a tour with a guide than some friends walking around nyc. the chocolate was delicious and so were the other pastries we were able to try. we had a great time

What a great tour, the chocolate tasting was great and our tour guide was very informative. We did mention that it was our 38th anniversary so maybe an extra piece of the deliciious chocolate (not candy) would have been special. Will recommend it to anyone. The chocolatiers were also very gracious and polite. Thanks

I really enjoyed the balance of chocolate and non-chocolate items since you can get worn out from so much sweet deliciousness! Tour was fun, social, great guide, nice places and amazing food. Highly recommend this to anyone who lives in another neighborhood. I'll certainly be back to some of the locations when I visit in the future.

A fun, unusual, and tasty experience

As a resident of neighboring NJ, I enjoy seeking out different things to do in NYC. When I came across the chocolate tour, I knew right away that it was a must for this chocolate lover and I didn't have to do much convincing for two friends to join me. It did not disappoint. Tour guide Burt was knowledgeable about how and where chocolate is made, the history, and the differences among the many chocolatiers. He was genuinely enthusiastic and seemed to be enjoying himself just as much as we were. Despite being regular NYC visitors, we were unaware of some of the places we visited and enjoyed his description of the offerings at each shop so that we could make informed decisions about what to try. The tour company could enrich the experience further with some kind of handout with, say, a history of chocolate, what to look for in chocolate, and maybe even a chocolate-related souvenir.

The NYC Luxury Chocolate Tour was a really good time and highly educational. I have lived in NYC for over 5 years but had never visited any of the shops on the tour. Our tour guide, Bert, was unbelievable knowledgeable about the chocolates themselves and how they are made. I would definitely make a point to request Bert as your tour guide. He was amazing!
