We visit New York often, but have never done a food tour. This was a lot of fun and not stuffy at all, even for non-foodies. For some people it might be a lot of walking - be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, you need both. Bert was great. He knew a lot, made suggestions, let us take our time and still kept us on schedule and had a wonderful approach and attitude about life. He'll give you recommendations about other tours and tidbits about the city, too, if you ask. Take advantage of a chance to try flavors you'd never normally order and have fun!

Good time

This tour was interesting - not only for locating fine chocolate shops that I would not have found on my own, but for the knowledgable guide. Bert was very friendly, interesting and informative. I was unaware of the number of different things one should know about fine chocolates. I would suggest making sure to eat something or have a starch filled snack with you since the infusion of chocolate sort of makes you "high". I enjoyed this tour and am planning to do another walking tour with Bert when we return to NY in the fall.

Our guide was very well informed, and we had great fun sampling the chocolate. Lots of walking, but it was worth it.

I thought the tour was great but the best part was Bert, the guide. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about chocolate. He made the tour fantastic.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It was a fabulous experience, we gladly recommend it to erveyone who loves chocolate! We tasted delicious and original pieces of chocolate. If, by chance, your guide brings you to Charbonnel & Walker, please try the "pink ball" (Stawberry and Champagne truffle). Also, we REALLY appreciate our guide, Bert. It was totally a great experience!

I found the activity fun and informative. Bert was a great guide you could really feel the enthusiasm he had and made everyone feel very welcome and wanted us all to have a great time. The group was the right size to be able to chat and get to know fellow visitors between shops, we kept moving but did not feel rushed.Great fun!

I do not like chocolate and did this tour to please an out of town friend. My lucky friend got to eat 4 pieces of all the chocolate offered and he was in heaven. However, the best part of the tour was the enthusiastic presentation of the young man leading the tour. He was so informative and showed extreme patience for the silliest of questions. Although I am personally not interested in anything regarding chocolate, his presentation at each store made me listen...and who knows, I might have learned something!

My sister and I took the luxury chocolate tour yesterday, on a weekend getaway in the city. It was FANTASTIC! Our tour guide, Bert, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very flexible. He gave us detail about each of the shops we visited, and answered all of the group's questions. He enjoys giving the tour, and it's obvious to the participants - he enjoys what he does, and he's good at it! I know a lot about chocolate already, but I learned some things that I didn't know from Bert. He was very patient whenever anyone wanted to browse or purchase, but he kept the tour moving along so no one got bored. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys eating quality chocolate, whether you live in the city or are just visiting. I plan on not only trying the other Zerve tours, but taking this one again sometime!!

What a great way to spend an afternoon

Having taken the deluxe chocolate tour in March my wife and I knew we were in for a treat when we signed up for the New Cuisine Chocolate Tour. We knew the chocolate would be great, but most of all we knew with Bert leading the tour, that the whole expereince was going to be informative and fun. We brought our nieces and their mom along for this tour and I'm not sure the nieces were sure they would like it, but after meeting Bert and after that first chocolate shop, they were thrilled. The shops (and the samples) are, of course wonderful, but what makes this especially enjoyable is the way Bert combines just the right amount of information (explained simply and clearly) with all of the great chocolate. He is a truly personable, enthusiastic young man who loves sharing his love of chocolate with everyone. He is the best tour guide we have ever encountered. We get to New York a few times a year and we're looking forward to our next visit so we can hook up with Bert again for the Union Square chocolate tour. These tours are more than worthwhile, they are a real treat and one of the highlights of a visit to New York. Don & Kathleen Burns

I took my husband on this tour for Father's Day--he is a hopeless chocoholic--and we had a great time. We were lucky to have a very small group on our tour, although I'm sure it would be fun even with a larger crowd. Bert, our guide, was knowledgeable, personable, and funny and led us on a pilgrimage to five outstanding, upscale chocolate shops, explaining the basics and nuances of chocolate history and the art of it's production. I would recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike--my husband has been raving about it to our friends and family. A very successful Father's Day gift!

Bert was GREAT !!

We have a whole new perspective on chocolate now. Bert (Burt?) was the guide for myself and my 16-year old daughter. He was knowledgeable, great personality, lots of fun. Interestingly enough, upon our return to California, the very next day, the LA Times had an article on chocolate shops in France - three of them we had visited on the NY tour. Be sure and keep Bert working for you, he's a credit to your company. Thanks

Bert + Fine Chocolate = Perfection!

My husband treated me to a weekend in NY and this luxury chocolate tour. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised! We were joined by two other couples and loved that the group was small. It kept things intimate. Our tour guide, Bert ,was knowledgeable and friendly. He gets an A++ for customer service and his ability to connect with us all and guide us through the city. I was impressed with the history he shared of each place we visited as well as the 'little known' facts and bits of trivia he shared on the chocolate industry. This guy knows his stuff! Bert has a great report with each shoppe we were in and we were treated well by everyone! Best of all... the chocolate. It was divine! I have never tasted such wonderful chocolate. How can I go back to Nestle or Hershey after this? Bert, fine chocolate and NYC have ruined me for life! :) Thank you all for a wonderful experience. I have already recommended you to my friends!

We did this to celebrate my husband's birthday and we could not have had a better time! We will definitely be trying some of the other tours offered. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Thank you so much!
