| We took the tour on a very hot day in mid-July 2008. For whatever reason, the other participants (not our party) had cancelled - leaving just the two of us with the guide. It was very professional of them not to cancel the whole tour. This left us to enjoy a "private tour". The tour is nice - there is some walking but the distances are not great. The chocolate shops are high-quality. There are 5 shops, and the tour includes 2 pieces of chocolate at each shop. And that is plenty! Plus, there is the opportunity to purchase... | ||||||

Unexpected Highlight

| We booked this tour rather last minute after reading some excellent reviews from the Guardian and online. Burt was our affable host who took us round 5 beautiful chocolate shops, each with their own distinct style and tastes! He was highly articulate and knowledgable on the subject of chocolate and both of us (my boyfriend and I) felt we learnt a lot from him! One of the main highlights for us was talking to a real local who knew the areas around town to recommend, what to look out for and sights/sounds not to be missed. Burt clearly had a good relationship with the chocolate shop staff as they all greated him like long lost friends and made us all feel very welcome. Thank you for providing this tour and we would recommend it to anyone going to New York! (P.S. you should set one up in London...) | ||||||

| Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It was a fabulous experience, we gladly recommend it to erveyone who loves chocolate! We tasted delicious and original pieces of chocolate. If, by chance, your guide brings you to Charbonnel & Walker, please try the "pink ball" (Stawberry and Champagne truffle). Also, we REALLY appreciate our guide, Bert. It was totally a great experience! | ||||||

| I found the activity fun and informative. Bert was a great guide you could really feel the enthusiasm he had and made everyone feel very welcome and wanted us all to have a great time. The group was the right size to be able to chat and get to know fellow visitors between shops, we kept moving but did not feel rushed.Great fun! | ||||||

| It was so much fun - I really recommend the tour to any chocolate addict! Two pieces per store may seem too few at first but the chocolate you taste is so rich that it is just the right amount. The tour guide was great: knowledgeable, fun, enthousiastic and very passionate about chocolate! Thanks for the lovely afternoon! | ||||||

| Spring and chocolate in New York. It doesn't get better than this. Our host was as hospitable as he was knowledgable. We tasted a (very) generous amount of chocolate in a variety of venues, a number of which we would have never discovered on our own. I particularly enjoyed that fact that, if we wished, we could substitute a pastry for chocolate at some venues. Just don't plan on eating dinner any time soon after this tour. | ||||||

| All the places were very good and unique and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, informative (answered lots of questions), and the area to walk around in was good to move around in after eating chocolate. The only other thing to add is to inform the public they will be outside for most of the tour. We had a rather cold day to walk around in. Otherwise a very good tour of chocolate. | ||||||

| The chocolate tour was a great way to walk around some of the most interesting and varied parts of new york away from the main Tourist/Shopping areas whilst indulging on the best chocolate. It's a little on the expensive side but then you think about the cost and quality of the chocolate and its not too bad, plus the guide is entertaining and knowledgeable. | ||||||

| The guide was excellent!! The tour average. It is expensive and the chocolates sampled are good but not the worlds best in my opinion!! It's only my opinion after all. Did not feel well received in some of the stores which is unfortunate as I paid for the priviledge of visiting their store. | ||||||

| Bert was quite knowledgable and fun to spend the afternoon with. I was part of a group of 6 ladies that had travelled from Ontario, Canada for a week in New York and this was definitely worth putting on our list to do. You get two chocolates in each shop plus hot chocolate samples in a couple of the shops. They were all delicious. If you are wanting to try the iced hot chocolate you have to do the tour before October, so instead I bought some to bring home and make myself. I would recommend this tour to everyone it was fun and informative. | ||||||

| I went to the Luxury Tour and the New Cuisine Tour. Yes I am a choco-olic. They were different and both de-li-cious. We where lucky to have Bert as our guide for both of them. He is passionate, funny and he knows chocolate very well. We already know how chocolate was discovered , so he concentrated on what it tastes and the sensation it procures. What a pleasant way to discover New-York. We learn a lot, even if we have great "cholatiers" in Montreal. | ||||||

| We enjoyed each and every minute of the tour. Our tour guide, Bert, was very enthusiastic and friendly. He not only knew about all of the chocolates and their history, he aslo provided us with in depth knowledge of the city. We would defiinitely take this tour again and will be recommending to all our friends! Jennifer and David N. Ireland | ||||||
