SWEET!

Spring and chocolate in New York. It doesn't get better than this. Our host was as hospitable as he was knowledgable. We tasted a (very) generous amount of chocolate in a variety of venues, a number of which we would have never discovered on our own. I particularly enjoyed that fact that, if we wished, we could substitute a pastry for chocolate at some venues. Just don't plan on eating dinner any time soon after this tour.

I'd recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in exotic chocolates, marketing strategies, and packaging ideas. The short walks between shops gave time to digest both our treats and the info disseminated from our guide. Bruce was both informative and an enthusiastic fan of chocolate in its many and diverse forms.

This was a great way to taste wonderful chocolate and see the sights of Soho. Burt was a wonderful tour guide and we learned so much about chocolate and the area we were touring. He was very fun, personable and able to answer any questions about the city. This is a great way to explore NYC in a non traditional way. I highly recommend this tour. Prepare yourself for some mouth watering chocolate!!!

I got pretty sick fro all the chocolate= the guide was good, but the chocolate was too rich- I thnk if you charged less and just offered one piece of chocolate per location, it would be better

My daughter and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide was very friendly, very informative about chocolate and regaled us with many fun facts and anecdotes. The sample choclates were exquisite. I purchased chocolates from Mirabelle and La Maison du Chocolate to take home with me. I would highliy recommend this tour to my friends if they were going to visit Manhattan. I will definetely take the other chocolate tours offered when I visit Manhattan again. I would also look for Zerve tours in other cities that I may visit.

We thought the guide was very good, he knew his stuff. If you like chocolate then you will love this tour. Our wifes enjoyed the tour more than us, the history of the shops and there owners was very interesting.

Mix-up with meeting spot.

The tour was A LOT of walking! Unfortunately we had to do more walking than normal because we were given the incorrect meeting location so we had to walk several blocks to meet our tour guide before the tour even started. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgable. The third stop was my least favorite. I didn't think the chocolate chip cookie was very impressive and the hot chocolate was like thick pudding. We enjoyed all of the other stops.

Fun eating/drinking tour

The chocolate, wine and pastry tour was very enjoyable in part due to our wonderful guide, Bert. The shops we visited were very interesting and the chocolate was beautiful to look at. However, I am a basic type of chocolate person and there was little to tempt me, but what I did taste was very good. The pastries were great as was the wine. I cannot stress, however, that this tour is a lot of walking - blocks and blocks and blocks of walking. I know the information said there is walking and wear comfortable shoes, but it was more than I anticipated. I was just glad our day was somewhat of a cool one. The stop at the organic chocolate factory was very interesting as was the owner who graciously told us whatever we wanted to know about how she made her chocolate. I would recommend this to persons who are chocoholics. My friend who went with me is a chocoholic and loved all of it!

Overall a well coordinated tour by our guide Burt - who was charming, informative, and very apologetic when Zerve gave us the incorrect location to meet. (Mistakes happen but more should have been done to correct the mistake - for example calling the cell phone numbers customers provided.) The tour provided a balance of excellent chocolate to taste, paired with a good wine, and interesting businesses to visit. I particularly liked the bit of neighbood history Bert provided while strolling some lovely East Side streets. All and all a lovely afternoon.

This tour was a lot of fun. Lots of amazing chocolate, a great group ambiance and some nice strolling along Fifth Avenue and the Upper East Side. Each shop had incredible chocolate, and it was great to learn about the different techniques and styles for making good chocolate. Overall a great, fun, original thing to do in the city. Can't wait to go back and try their other tours!

Based on the website my wife and I decided to take this tour. Our tour guide (Bert) is who really made the tour worth while. He was both knowledgeable and fun to chat with. We went to five different high-end chocolatiers andr eceived tastes at each place along with some history lessons. The tour was a bit on the pricey side. However, we had fun and would recommend it to anyone who loves chocolate.

Great afternoon tour!!

I purchased the tour as a birthday gift for my chocolate loving husband. He's a big fan of the Hershey's kind of chocolate, so I wasn't sure if he was going to like this tour, because it is a higher end kind of chocolate. Well, I shouldn't have worried. He absolutely loved the tour! Our tour guide was Bert, and he really knew his dark chocolate from his milk chocolate. Our group was 3 groups. We were on time, and the other two were a bit tardy. Bert was great calling them to give them updates, so that they could join the tour when we had moved to the next store. Luckily, they got there before we left. The descriptions of the chocolate were spot on, and Bert had very nice recommendations for us. We visited five shops, and had plenty of time for purchases after tasting. If you think you won't get enough chocolate, think again. We got to choose 2 pieces in each shop, and we also got a couple of chocolate drinks, besides. My husband at all of his on the spot, but I had half of mine wrapped to go. If you do that, be careful they don't get crushed in your bag. They are incredibly delicious, but very fragile! My husband is always ready to eat anything chocolate. However, by the end of the day, he said that for the first time in his life, he had eaten enough chocolate for the next two weeks!!! That was a successful tour in my eyes. This was to be a day of chocolate, so we went over to Max Brenner's for an early dinner. Needless to say, we weren't really very hungry. But, Max Brenner's was very disappointing. The food wasn't hot, the food just wasn't very tasty or well prepared, service stunk, and we were very disappointed with them. We should have gone somewhere else to eat, and much later in the day. We didn't have time to visit the M&M's store in Times Square, but it's on our list for next time. So, if you want to have the ultimate chocolate experience, take this tour. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

What a great tour! I highly recommend this activity to any chocolate lover. Our tour guide was extrememly informative about the chocolate-making process, and the shops were welcoming, friendly, and beautiful! The samples were unbelievably delicious and the tour guide was very descriptive about the various tastes and how the chocolatiers achieved the specific chocolate. A very fun, well-spent 2 hours in Manhattan's SoHo!

It was pouring rain the day of our tour and our guide showed up right on time. We were the only 2 people on our tour so we got the private show. We were so lucky! Everyone connected with the tour including those in the chocolate shops were kind and very understanding when we asked all sorts of questions. I fell in love with chocolates from one of the places. It totally replaced my former #1 pick which was also on the tour. If I hadn't taken this tour I would never have found the place. I highly recommend this tour. You will learn a lot about chocolate, taste some fabulous chocoate and come home with way too much chocolate.
