Enjoyable Experience

We have previously taken the Midtown chocolate tour, so when we were back in town we signed up for the SoHo tour, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable and provided good descriptions and suggestions at each stop we made. In future trips we will return to the chocolate shops we visited, but we will not return to the cheesecake shop. While the cheesecake tasted fine, that stop was out of place with the chocolate shops, and we witnessed an employee (owner?) berating our guide over not charging enough on the credit card. If there isn't another chocolate shop in the area to add to the tour, then do a different dessert location that treats others kindly.

The guide made some great suggestions. I was amazed with the huge variety and the odd combinations. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I would have enjoyed the tour more if we could have had a behind the scene tour to see the process of the chocolates being made.

A unique and fabulous New York chocolate Tour!
Sun, Mar 28, 10   12:00 PM mark9046 Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We highly recommend this tour for all you chocolate lovers out there. Our tour guide was very friendly and made it a nice relaxed atmosphere. There were only us two on the tour which made it more personal and enjoyable. This tour is different to the usual New York tours which is an added bonus because you experience a different side of the city through its various chocolatiere's. There were a great selection of various chocolates to sample at each chocolatiere and the hot chocolate at Lily O'Briens was out of this world! This tour is definately for the ultimate chocolate lover! Would recommend this tour.

Better than expected

I took my husband on this tour as a birthday gift. Lucky for us, it was just the 2 of us. Our tour guide, Linzi Jean, was fantastic. Since it was just us, she was able to spend lots of time telling us about the history of the chocolate shops, as well as other places in NYC. She explained the differences between each shop and offered her recommendations of tastings. The chocolates themselves were better than I expected; the tastes, the textures, each one unique and wonderful. At first you think "only 2 samples per store"..... we actually brought most of the samples home. I'll definitely be stopping back at these shops any time I'm in the city. We'll also be looking to book the SoHo Chocolate Tour and will definitely be requesting Linzi as our tourguide.

So incredible, the chocolate you taste!

I didn't know what to expect "a chocolate tour" through New York. My friend and I saw lots of stores with Belgium chocolate and we were worried that we will be tasting Belgium chocolate. We're from Holland and we know how the Belgium chocolate tastes, so that wouldn't be nothing new. But once we started we got so overwhelmed by the taste of all kind and different tasting chocolate, homemaid chocolate! And not to forget the very enthousiastic guiding by Lynsey! She knows alot about chocolate, the creative people who make the chocolate and the city. In one word INCREDIBLE, in two words INCREDIBLE DELICIOUS! And to everyone who's considering the chocolate tour> JUST DO IT! Linda van Nes

A Fairly Good Experience

Our guide was friendly, patient, and willing to answer questions. All five shops we visited made exquisite chocolate, but several of the proprietors appeared to be annoyed at our presence. They had to be pumped for information. The very worst was the one in Rockefeller Center. We loved the Irish chocolate and the English chocolate best, probably due in large part to the wonderful and friendly reception we received. The tour gave us an opportunity to explore shops we didn't know existed and we were glad for the experience. The walk between venues was just right. I did feel the tour was overpriced for what we received.

The tour was very informative and fun. The tour guide was very knowledgable and really cared that we received the full experience of the tour. However, by the 5th shop we were over indulged with chocolates we needed to take them in a to-go bag!

Fun and Sweet

We absolutely enjoyed the NYC Luxury Chocolate Tour on 1/29/2010. I booked the tour for 3 reasons: (1) To entertain my cousin visiting from Germany (2) To celebrate my sister's 40th birthday (3) To treat myself with the love of my life which is chocolate. Even though the weather was cold and windy, we had such a fun time that we weren't even thinking how freezing we were. It was a nice stroll through the city and we visited 5 Chocolatiers. We didn't even know that such delicious truffles existed in the city. We can't leave out the Tour Guide! We had Matt and he was terrific. He was sweet, funny and was a great help with his Truffle suggestions. He even made the tour extra special knowing it was my sister's birthday. Thanks Matt for a fun-filled sweet day. You made our experience very memorable!

Great tour!

This tour was a wonderful way to spend 2 hours in the City. Matt, our guide was knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. He gave us very wise information about not trying to eat all the samples as you go - it is amazingly rich and filling. We had the opportunity to purchase chocolate at each shop we visited with a 10% discount and so we finished the tour with lots of great chocolate to bring home. The walk was an easy one and there was just enough time at each location to enjoy each shop. I give this my highest recommendation!

Awesome Soho chocolate tour

I went with 3 friends (as a mutual birthday outing) on the Soho Chocolate tour. Despite the rain, it was abundantly fun and delicious and surpassed our expectations. Our guide, Linzi Jean, was very friendly, knowledgeable and organized. We had ample time at each stop, but miraculously stayed on schedule. The chocolate stops were much more unique and interesting than I'd imagined. While we did walk through a bit of Soho, everything was fairly close together, so even in the rain, it was an easy jaunt. Thanks!

Would recommend it to any chocolate lover

Burt was great, and unfortunately for Sweetwalks it was his last tour. He was good enough to be picked for a management spot at one of the chocolate stores he frequented on this tour. it turned out to be a private tour for me and my boyfriend, and four trainees joined the group. It was a lot of fun, and Burt was very knowledgable about everything! What we particularly loved about him was his lack of pretension. The stores were all very interesting, and we bought chocolates from every one of them. Unfortunately for us, I somehow left the bag with a large 20 oz tin of the Aztec hot chocolate we got from Mariebell Sweets at the theatre. The hot chocolate was so good, as were all the hot chocolate samples we received! I would recommend this to any chocolate lover, and would say to be open minded about what chocolate is, because I came to find out that beautiful ganache can be combined with curry, pistachio, lemon, sesame, passion fruit, and so many flavors one would not expect. They were all delicious, and it certainly opened my mind up as to the depth of possible flavors. Thank you Sweetwalks for a great birthday present experience for my boyfriend.

My family and I had a fantastic experience on the NYC chocolate tour this past Friday. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about NYC history and chocolate. The shops we visited were all welcoming, despite the size of the tour group. I highly recommend this tour for a nice family outing.

We were surprised by how much we liked the tour. Laid back, but we also learned a lot. The guide (Bert) is great - we're taking one of their other tours with him in December.
